Better Call Saul Prev--- errr, Bs Preview and Open Thread

Howdy 4HF'ers! As has become tradition, your humble ex-leader is in da house for a Bs preview and open thread! Problem is, it's Sunday night. Who watches hockey on Sunday night??? Not to mention, I am distracted.

Look at what's on TV on tonight! The mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead. The second season premiere of This Week Tonight with John Oliver. And most importantly, the series premiere of the spin-off of the second greatest TV drama of all-time. W00t! Now that's entertainment. Hopefully more entertainment than the the Habs against the Sabres. If you think this lawyer isn't frothing at the mouth to view this potential great TV show about a lawyer, well, you've never done meth with me. Mmm, blue meth.

I've got an idea - Saul for Habs assistant-GM! He's got the lack of scruples we need to make some shady deals to help us down the stretCH (sip!).

So dinner thread some delicious Los Pollos Hermanos and enjoy the show the game everyone! GYFHG!! DIE BROONS DIE!!!11!!!!!!
~~~
  2. It's always good to know that when you have back to back games, the guy standing in for the main man is going to bring his A game...let's hope Toker is in as good form as 29.
    Go Habs go...go Habs go...go habs go...go Habs go!
    Btw - I am thinking about finishing that port I started last night...don't fuck with a streak I always say! Wd are having a fajita dinner fiesta before the game so it should down reasonably well after a few beers!
    The Walking Dead is back!! Fuck and Yes!!!
    I will definitely be checking out Saul. Shady lawyers are the best.
  4. A six-pack of goals! That was nice. Great gameday thread 29. I'm not convinced that Saul is a strong enough character to carry a show, but the writing might save it. I've got the dvr set. The game however might have to take a backseat once the dead start walking again.
    We gonna see Subban vs Subban tonight? Will the racists boo their own guy too?
    Turkey dinner with all the fixins tonight!
  6. Its been a great Sunday so far. First a big win and goals scored. Attaboy, Lego, Chip, DDD and PFK, and the whole team Yay. Second Question Period cuts Fat Steve a new one, wow, blow me away. Third NBC will be broadcasting OTR the Habs vs Broons classic (Did you know we drafted something called Ben Maxwell one spot before Pretzel) I know why Chip scored twice last night because this should be his last game against the Broons, you only live twice and this is the last chance of the year for Pretzel to kill him.
    Fourth 29 Blesses us with an appearance featurng what I believe was the star of Zombie Apoclpse Redemption Alicia Clark.
    I have read Better Call Saul is fantastic. Also right up 29's ballywick is Ascension staring Trish Helfer dressed just like BG or less.
    Quote of the day " In football coaches do not even consider what a player cant do, in Hockey its the main focus of way to many coaches" Do we know one???
    Was at the Connor McDavid Bowl last night between the Laffs and the Oilers (old friends managed to get tickets). For a laffs team that scored 5 goals, the ACC was library quiet and the in-game experience was nothing special. Thank goodness for friends that made it worth my time.
    I'll take the passionate fans of Centre Bell any day. Does COTU media mix in crowd noise when they show the laffs games every effing week?
    ReplyDelete
  10. the Maritimer4:02 PM
    I wonder what Connor McDavid thinks about going to Edmonton or Toronto? Or even worse, Buffalo. If it was me I'd be hoping for Arizona, soon to be Las Vegas Coyotes or Carolina. Two much nicer climes.
    1. Love it, and not the first time. Border line = It depends on what team and what player. If you're serious about cracking down on something, then crack down on it.
  119. HoooooooooooooWeeeeeeee! Nice win. Season sweep but it won't count for much once we get to the playoffs. One game at a time.I didn't make the game last night - but will watch the Gamecentre version later today and comment...sounds like there was some "controversy" ...Another "out hit, outshot" effort...but not by much on either front...Go Habs Go!!
    I'd just like to say, I could have watched that game last night, but when I read that cold and galling were calling it, I decided to take a pass. I don't care for awards shows but I got to see AC/DC rockin' the house to open and later a number by Jeff Lynne and ELO, one of my faves from the '80's.
    Go show by the lads last night in beantown, WE own those fuckers.
    1. I saw that too The M - missed ELO, but AC/DC certainly know how to open a show...A nicely slowed down version of Highway to Hell was pretty cool too.
  121. HEH, Die broons die! They would be wise to sit Pretzel against the Habs. The sight of (Y) turns him even more cro-magnon than usual. What a fucking couple of idiots, he and ratface.
    Walking Dead fans. Not sure if you've watched the episode yet, so I won't spoil anything by saying I think that was one of the crappiest episodes yet. THAT is your mid-season premiere? Nothing fucking happened! Anyway, that's all I will say.
    Go YMFH GO!
    On a happier note, Happy Birthday to Chris "Knuckles" Nilan, 57 today. Best fighter the Habs had after John Ferguson.
    THIRD STAR – DAVID DESHARNAIS, C, MONTREAL CANADIENS
    Desharnais paced the NHL with five assists and a +6 rating and also shared the League lead with six points to power the Canadiens (34-15-3, 71 points) to two wins in three starts. He opened the week with 1-1-2 in a 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres Feb. 3. Desharnais then matched career highs with three assists/points in a 6-2 win over the New Jersey Devils Feb. 7, reaching those marks for the first time since Dec. 31, 2013 (0-3-3 at CAR). He added one assist in a 3-1 victory over the Boston Bruins Feb. 8 to help the Canadiens sweep their season series for the first time since 2007-08. The 28-year-old Laurier-Station, Que., native ranks fifth on the Canadiens with 8-23-31 in 52 contests this season; his 23 assists also share second on the club.
  125. Assorted notes after studying the standings as I like to do after a win:
    - It is a death match at the top of the Atlantic
    - And death match atop the East Conf b/c the Metro's top teams are all floundering lately)
    - Habs 2 pts behind TB for both, but 3G in hand
    - But Det also 2 pts behind with 3G in hand
    - Habs tied for 2nd most wins in the league with 34 (Nashville with 35, TB, NYI, StL, Ana all with 34)
    - Leaf 13 pts out of a playoff spot with 3 teams to leapfrog (weee!)
    1. Probably the 8 teams sitting in a playoff spot right now are the teams that will be there in the end. The thing is the race is so tight, come playoff time, any one of those other 7 teams could theoretically be the Habs' first round opponent. Realistically, it will most likely be TB, Detroit, Boston, NYR or Washington...or NYI...or Pitts...yeah, so could be anybody. Crazy.
    2. Ever since last week I have decided to channel JT. The regular season is a marathon and the Habs need to finish well, then take on whoever they have to. To win the cup they will have to beat whoever they face regardless, so I am not going to worth too much about where they finish. Don't get me wrong - I want them to win the next 30 games...but I am not going to sweat it if they drop a couple along the way...except for Saturday night...they absolutely must win Saturday night!
