    1. Tag line was just a FHFun to come up with. (I think 29 is the only that CHecks them out). Sip!

Also, too, my Mom listened to Edith Piaf every Sunday.

  3. I am a huge fan. Her work was remastered for a movie. Should we call him Edith?

When a 19 year old is called up to play for the Montreal Canadiens, its still a big deal to me.

Another idea for a nickname. "Candy" Based upon one of the funnist memories I have of Sweden.

  4. Just caught up on the JT article. Great stuff. Best comment (even though quoting Ferraroar): As Ray Ferero put it "The Leafs have a president that wasn't hired by the owners, A G.M. that wasn't hired by the president, a coach the wasnt hired by the G.M. and assistants who weren't hired by the coach. "Who puts a team together like that?" Heh, what a shitshow.

    1. Man, they couldn't pick this game for his suspension. and I don't think that had anything to with a Tequila shots but more about revealing what we all knew all along - the NHL wants calls made a certain way. AHA!

  7. Lego has taken a beating from certain parties in this blog...me being one of them I admit...but I think it is because we all see how much potential he has that has not materialised into making him a superstar. He has been badly coached, played poorly and had some bad luck along the way. So I hope he is back in the lineup soon and can deliver the effort we all expect of him. The rest will follow.
I just checked my per-season prediction sheet and I had the Habs going 7-3-1 in January. So an 8-2-1 record puts them only 2 points behind my 117 total pace for the year...but now they need back to back 10 win months in Feb and March...fingers crossed!
Moeman - the wtf cat is an absolute 4HF Classic and deserves a spot somewhere permanent.
I am somewhat nervous about tonight but I do think they will bounce back strong tonight

Go Habs go. Go Habs go. Go Habs go. Go Habs go

    2. I like Lego as a Hab and I think most of his games have been relegated to 3rd and 4th line duty. He's not going to excel there and when given top 2 line work, he has been good. He is a big, young, smart and relatively inexpensive centre. He plays well with the G kids, which is where I'd leave him His playoff games were fantastic so I think he needs to be challenged to be very good. The only two things I'll add is he is inconsistent (see line duty) and doesn't use his big body enough, eg. to crush rats like marchand and kadri.

I agree with what you are saying about Lego. Sometimes I think he is his own worst enemy in that he doesn't have faith in his own abilities. I'm like you in that, if given the opportunity to play as a 1 or 2 center, for a sustained period he would get the job done. Unfortunately for him he has had SuperPleXXXe and wee Davey in front of him and Therrien has 1) unshakeable faith in those two and 2) no patience to try it. If Lego were in Phoenix or some other backwater hockey city with little talent he would be given that opportunity. Unfortunately for him in Montreal he has seniority and politics against him.

    4. Yup.

Also, "or some other backwater hockey city with little talent he would be given that opportunity. Sounds like tranna.

  9. OK, so I get home early cuz I worked till 8 last night. I have a large shared driveway, ⅔ mine. I’ve lived at this address for 27 years. My neighbour, great guy, is car-sitting for some Caribbean bound friends. He has taken 5 of the available 12 car spots. I normally back into the driveway. I take up one of the 12 spots. He decided to put one of his cars in the very middle. Small dent on the side of my car as I backed into my regular, 27th year in a row spot.

  11. Considering what the brains at NHL HQ have decided re:timfuckingpeel

1- They've never suspended a ref for shitty on-ice shit
2- Nice sucking up to a moron like pfuck peel
3- With his leaf tanking, pfuck needs to pat himself on the back, PfOS
4- pfuck is all about pfuck, a clueless hockey pfan that has tied his ball-less career to leaf nation
5- refs should have post-game media scrums to explain their mistakes
6- refs should have post-game media scrums to explain their collapsing to the 'war room'
7- pfuck sucks, the leaf sucks even more than pfuck sucks
8- thanks for nothing john baird, you harper hack

  13. Surprise, surprise.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Dan Carcillo's 12th violation of the NHL's code of conduct has failed to resonate.

When asked if his seven-game suspension - which has now been served - will change the way he plays, Carcillo answered succinctly:

"It hasn't yet. It's not going to, no."

  16. Losers of 14 straight games heading into Tuesday's matchup with the Montreal Canadiens, head coach Ted Nolan is employing an interesting motivational technique: play well and you might get out of here.

    John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl
Ted Nolan is encouraging the Sabres who are trade candidates to "make it happen" with fine play. "Maybe somebody will see you and want you."

  23. I ran out to run a couple of errands to return to both TV's being claimed. Checked the score and said to myself "maybe it's best I don't watch." However, before leaving for my errands, I started watching North by Northwest (one of those movies I've always wanted to see). dvr'ing the rest of it - looking forward to seeing how that unfolds. I love (some) old movies. I found it weird though - the actress playing Cary Grant's mother doesn't look much older than he...so I looked it up and sure enough she was only 8 years his senior. I think we were supposed to think Grant was in his 30's. He was 54.

  27. Soooo, looking at the stats - Lego is -3 with under 4 minutes of ice time. Might as well trade him in-game like we did with Squid because the doghouse ain't gonna be eMTy for long. cakeS -2 with 2:40 ice time, along with $ohs. move over Lego.

  28. the Maritimer8:34 PM

Hope they take the Oil and the leaf more serious than this.

    ReplyDelete
  29. How are they getting outnumbered behind the net WHEN THEY'RE ON THE PP!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Just hit the net ONCE. Just once.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Fun fact: In the last 22 games, the Habs have give up 3+ goals three times. To the Sens, Yotes and Islanders. Yup. Out of those games, they gave up 3 goals twice and 4 once (to the Islanders, and they won that game).

Tonight, they gave up 3 goals in one period. To the Sabers.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I predict a DGMB move in the next 7 days.

If only they could HIT THE FUCKING NET once in a while they might score a goal or two.

Can't win 1-0 all the time.

  44. I love Lego. But how can you miss the net by 10 feet point blank all alone?

    ReplyDelete
  45. the Maritimer9:54 PM

If they had played like this the first 40 minutes this game would be safely put away by now.

  54. So how much do you think they'll lose by to NJ on Saturday? I'm going to go out on a limb and say they'll get a point, but lose 2-1 in a SO. That's right, I still believe in my Habs!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well, I'm staying off the internet for the next week. The leafools are going to have a field day with this.

    ReplyDelete
  56. These last two games are the Habs when Carey doesn't save their ass. Could easily be a 4 game losing streak if not for his other worldly play. Great goalies make mediocre coaches look like geniuses.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Meh. Typical ups and downs of a long season, keeping their best for the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  58. And toronto up 3-2. Fuck my life.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I hope we sit pretty pat. I do not think a rental is going to be a differance maker. I do not want to give up another prospect and another 2nd rounder. I would like to trade one of our top smurfs for a second rounder. DDD, Ghetto, and five other guys the same we have. I do not trade Hudon,$, or Renway.

    ReplyDelete
  60. In 6 games against the Sabers, Oilers and Coyotes this year, the Habs have managed a grand total of 3 points (1-4-1). And that one win was in a SO.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The WTF Cat has never been more appropo...Here's something I haven't written in a long time about the Habs post game...They outshot and outhit the opposition...Be very careful what you wish for!

But at least the leaf lost so it wasn't a complete write off of a night.
