This is a little late, I watched the L.A. game yesterday afternoon and I thought Toker played a pretty good game. The first goal was a deflection and the second, well let's just say DDD should have been sent to his room after that blown assignment. I guess Toker wasn't very good in the shootout though.

I hope the Habs can kick some mutt ass tonight.

I'll be out tonight, going to see Tom Cochrane at Casino NB in Moncton. Catch up with you all tomorrow morning. Bright and early!!

  9. I just watched the HNIC opening for the first maybe this season. So they have Gretzky, Flower, Mario and then....Kessel. Are you fucking kidding me? Oh good, now I get to hear about the leaf as I tune into the Habs game.

  16. OMG I just heard the most awsome thing. I like to check in on other games during the commercials of the Habs game. Rather than switch over to the cockroaches to listen to leaf commiserating, I switch to the Punjabi version. It's so much more awesome, and to top it off, I just saw the Blues go up 3-0 on a goal by (this is how the play by play guy called it) TARASENKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Seriously a good 10 seconds on the 'O'. Frickin' awesome.

    1. Goalie interference is not reviewable anyway. So if the refs already knew it was interference then what was the point of the review? Toronto probably did try to make it a goal, but the refs just rolled their eyes and kept their interference call stand.

  44. Damm cold kept me up so watched the first two periods. Habs played well but it was the yotes - nice to see Eller score with a helper to DSiP. Pretty bad reffing though. I think that is the level we'll see for the playoffs sadly. 2nd in the league and a game in hand - thank god the Habs aren't an elite team!!

Well, I said I would be here bright and early and here it is after noon. I blame on being up too late and the time change. I'm beat. Just finished watching the game on pvr, not very entertaining but the result was good. Price is a machine.

    Go Habs Go!!

  48. So, (wasn't watching the actual play, but I did see a Wing make the diving sign - I think I also saw that during a Habs game) Bergeron dives and Mcsplooge says there won't be a diving call, he's just so respected around the league. What? that's fucking biased.

  49. Never, ever doubt tsn's Habs-hating motives. They can barely find the time to put up a post game Habs win \article' yet their leaf soap opera drama gets front page headlines within minutes. Sick fucks.

Anyone read RBQ's comments about MT? Personally, I think the only fault MT had with RBQ was that he gave him too many chances. But there does seem to be a trend developing with ex-Habs and what they say about their former coach. Again, we have to think about the future. With this sort of thing out there, what free agents are going to want to come to Montreal.

But never mind that. Price played lights out again so MT's a genius. Nothing wrong here! GO HABS GO!

Anyone else find it amusing that tsn finds the time to follow the OHL's Erie Otters and C.M. in the vain futile hope that he may end up a leaf? The "sick fucks" will do anything to throw the leafools a bone.

  52. http://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/2015/03/08/clues-were-there-ahead-of-maple-leafs-lost-season.html#

You don't have to read that nonsense. The point is it's another leaf story saying "all the clues were there" that this was going to be another lost season. Really? Then why were you, and the rest of the media, planning the parade until the new year, and even later as the team imploded? Even there, in that article, after the writer says the team has many terrible problems he goes on to give glowing reviews to just about every executive and player one by one.

Leaf fans like to pretend that Toronto is the hardest city to play in. But in reality, like one of the guys said on the HIO show last week, the Toronto media is really forgiving and they'll make all kinds of excuses for you. I kind of compare it to the Korean education system. From the outside it looks like Korean students are under enormous pressure and everything is super hard. But in reality, while Korean kids are expected to look busy, they don't actually do much work. They go to school less hours per year, they don't get homework in general, etc. Not only that, but it is literally impossible to fail here. I have to give blank test papers at least 70%. Parents have sued schools in the past for failing their little snowflakes. So really, there's no pressure at all. No matter what you do not only will you be moved along, you'll get a good score. Then you'll take the University entrance exam and be unable to write your own name and everyone will blame it on nerves. Just like every year when the leaf collapse the media acts like it was just a random turn of events and everything will be fine next year. Korean kids, like leaf players, are endlessly coddled. They don't work PT jobs, they don't have chores, teachers will hug them after the kid throws a fit and breaks furniture.

So yeah, that's my analogy. Korean kids, like all kids, are great. It's just the adults around them that make it hard. And leaf players, like all players, are just humans doing a job. We can't really blame them for the stupidity the media does. It's not Pylon's fault he gets $7 a year to suck hard. Kessel might be an entitled out of shape boob, but he never claimed to be a franchise saviour.

Like the mediots could ever figure out what clues were in front of them....

I read that article. The mediots have to give all the leafools some glimmer of hope, so they write nonsense like that. It probably gets tiresome writing about all the embarrassing losses.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but during the Habs season of ignominy which did net them gCHuk didn't they at least lose with some dignity? They won 35 games I believe and a lot of them were close.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, I just looked it up. They may have finished last in the East, and 3rd last overall, but they got 78 points. Six teams won't get anywhere near that this year with another 1-2 probably getting around that total (the leaf will be lucky to hit 70). Remember, too, that they were only 2 pts behind the leaf (and within 4 pts of the 5 teams ahead of them). Also consider that they went 5-12 in the SO. Turn a few of those around and they would have been above several other teams. But hey, it worked out so whatever.

    3. the Maritimer8:19 AM

Thanks O-Man. I knew they weren't "leaf" bad that year. Turn that 5-12 SO record around and they've got 90 points, probably not good enough to get in the playoffs but a valiant effort at least. Still, I'm happy they finished lower and got #27.

Funny, while I was watching the Arizona game yesterday morning, I noticed the incredible effort Gallagher was putting in shift after shift. For some reason I was thinking in order to get Yakupov out of Edmonton, #11 is who the Oilers would probably want. The more I thought about it I realized I wouldn't trade Gallagher, a 5th round pick, straight up for the #1 overall pick in 2013. I don't think Bergevin would either.

      Delete
    4. Gallagher is the modern Henri Richard. The kid is a lock for 20 goals a year. Hope he's a lifer. Love seeing the mediots prove and lose their collective shit over their shit team. Bunch of sick fucks.

    5. I think EDM will want a good goalie and/or solid young D as scoring hasn't been their problem. I wonder if Fucale is still in the conversation.

  53. the Maritimer11:12 AM

The odd time that I watched the proceedings of tsn's trade day frenzy, the panel (Ward, Ferraro, O'Neil and McSplooge) Ray and Pierre were having a heated discussion about who Edmonton should have took No. 1 in 2013. Pierre insisted that the Oilers had no choice but to take the consensus pick which was Yakupov. Ferraro said it was the wrong move, the Oilers didn't need another small winger and RNH not being a big #1 center, they should have opted for gCHuk based on need. That, or take Ryan Murray, a big mobile D they needed even more and whom Garth Snow was willing to trade his whole bloody draft for. Regardless, it all sure worked out for MB when #27 fell into Timmins lap.

The good ol' leaf is the gift that keeps on giving to the Toronto mediots with the Kadri flap. What a fucking three ring circus that place is, I can't believe even one of those players would want to be part of that shitshow.

I believe kidG just signed for 6 years didn't he? He will be a lifer for les Canadiens, a la Vodkov, an unappreciated defensive genius by all the cotu "experts" who wouldn't know what a good hockey player looked like if they skated over top of them.
