Hang on kitty!!! Holy fuck guys - JUST FUCKING WIN!
We're all going to die. It's the end of days.We need Arnold, Sly, Brucie and even Fat Steven.Holy fuck.Go Habs Go
GO HABS GO! I've been more critical of this team than those in the past because I actually believe this year's edition is better than anything I've seen since my bat matzvah (note: I'm not Jewish). I'm glad MB didn't sell the future for this year. But I still feel this year has a shot. It's not just about realizing your own potential, but seizing the moment. Right now, at this moment, the Canadiens have everyone healthy. At this moment Price is playing lights out. At this moment the East is weak, and the West isn't that strong. Yes, California teams are big, but they're not unbeatable. STL doesn't have a goalie. CHI is injured. Not saying you have to put all your chips in (see: don't trade future away, above). But I don't accept MB's line that the Habs aren't there yet. So yeah, they could go 0/4 on this California trip and it wouldn't matter in numbers. But it would matter in the bigger scale. LA has made a trend of barely getting through the regular season and then turning it on in the playoffs. And, actually, so have the Habs to a lesser extent the last few seasons (they had identical points last season). But there's pride and statement to be made. I want them to win. They should want to win. Obviously they do, I'm not questioning any of their commitment. But they need to be given the chance to win. DDD on the first line isn't going to win, especially in California. DSiP getting tons of minutes isn't going to win. This team can win, they have all season. It's just so painful to watch them this close dumping and chasing down 2 goals under a minute left. We can all ignore who it is telling them to do this. We can promise not to say anything until it's all over, but DDD taking a faceoff on a 6on4 with 2 minutes left and easily getting out-muscled to give up an ENG, and then being put on again after the other PP line actually scores a goal only to be out-muscled again was frustrating to watch. This team is good, but they're not being the best they can be. It's not DDD's fault, and him not being out there in those situations may not have changed anything. But we know that this team will not perform at its best as long as politics dictate it. And that's sad.
I play a lot of poker. Analogy! You can sit there waiting for pocket Aces (that means 2 Aces, for the layman). It's coming, you know it. But right now you have a pair of Jacks. It's not perfect, and lots can beat you. You could play cautiously waiting for someone to beat you. Or you could play for broke and make those Js work because everyone else at the table is playing weak, like this year's NHL. When 6 teams are vying for the President's Trophy in mid March then it's very much wide open. The Habs might have better skill next year. And Price or PK or Patches or gCHuck might get injured. Or several of TB's or Pitt's or Det's players might have a career year. We saw how fast NYI shot up this year, CLB will be strong next year without the injuries. Florida is just getting stronger. I'm just saying it's no longer about waiting for a dynasty, or until you have the perfect team. It's about seizing the moment.
Nice one O-Man - well said!
DDD is not a 1st line center. Everyone knows it, even MB, but right now it'[s all they got. MT could throw gCHuk back in there but he was getting run hard and in danger of a big injury or a concussion. Lego is not it either. He's gone this summer. Pleks slots in nicely at No. 2 and that's his limit. What to do? At the moment nothing. The Habs don't have a legit No. 1 and the only way to get one is draft and develop. Apparently McCarron is playing center in junior for Oshawa, maybe he will the one down the road. Maybe gCHuk is it, also down the road. It is what it is, the Habs will be extremely lucky to get to the Final Four again let alone the Finals. I don't see a championship this year or in the near future despite Jack Todd's enthusiastic article last week. Not trying to be negative, just calling it as I see it. I could be all wrong but the last two games was a little dose of reality showing that Montreal are still quite weak up the middle, excluding Price of course. DD and Pleky just can't go up against Thornton and Marleau, Getzlaf and Kesler and tonight Kopitar and whoever. They get exposed every time.In the meantime, Go Habs Go, win as many as you can.
One thing I did notice watching the game early this morning was HugeSon saying several times that "two great teams" were on the ice and the game was being played at a very past pace. So, some of the mediots are finally starting to acknowledge the Habs as a decent team. Since their leaf have become a circus act (an embarrassing one at that) and their 2nd favourite team the B's are only a shadow of their former selves, maybe they had no choice.
Well, I've struggled through a period of the first two west coast tragedies. I think I'll skip LaLaLand all together. Just way too much canine californication happening on the ice. The size different has been very apparent in these games. They might be bulldogs, but the French Bulldog variety up against Bull Mastiffs. That's a rough match-up every time. I try to remain faithful, but I'm still very wary of the SiP/cakeS trade. I'm not totally convinced we'll ever end up seeing the upside to it - and to be honest, while I don't know the kid, on the outset it reminds me a bit of when RBQ arrived...he doesn't appear totally thrilled about the trade. Maybe that's just me.
Canine Californication heh heh. We will see lots of upside in the trade....unfortunately we will have to watch Anaheim games to see the upside that we gave away
A nicer version of dog fucking. Good stuff.
Those fucking idiots are trashing to the nth degree that the Habs are no match for the West, I want them to beat LA just to shove it up their asses. GO HABS GO!!
It doesn't matter what they do in LA. They could have swept this whole trip and their narrative would be the Habs got lucky, they're a mediocre team with an elite goalie, etc., etc., etc. The media are like bullies, thinking the Habs can change enough to satisfy them and win their approval is getting it backwards. The more hatred the media has for the Habs, the more we know they are doing well.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
LA will be extra motivated for the 2 pts, still trying to get a playoff spot.
Sht, chris lee.
Here we go...
Watching DDD getting shoved down and manhandled is really, really sad. It's like watching a 3rd grader being bullied by a high school kid.
The Dmen have not been covering the points this whole trip. It's confusing to me.
Bold prediction for this road trip, 0-4. That's how they roll. No worries.
Shots are 10-1.
Why on earth is that a penalty? They didn't even call it until the guy didn't get up.
What a fucking bogus interference call, CHarger had possession of the puck. fuck you lee.
It's even more ridiculous after seeing all this interference these last three games go uncalled. Yeah, the California teams are big and good, but man they are allowed to interfere in ways other teams can only dream of.
If that's a penalty then hitting is now illegal in the NHL. Always 'interesting' officiating in California.
Toker makes me so nervous when he leaves the crease, just let the guys get the puck.
Shots were 13-2 that period.
But hey, hits were 14-13! They must have counted DDD hitting the ice.
Dead horse, I know, I just want to reply to the M above. I don't accept the "DDD isn't perfect but he's all they've got right now" argument. He isn't all we've got. No, they don't have a true first line center but that doesn't mean you just stick anyone in there. Some players are closer to being a first line center than others. Plecky and Lego are closer than DDD, especially against these big teams. When you have a faceoff with 90 seconds left with your net empty, DDD isn't all they have to take that faceoff. They have THREE other centers that have much better percentages both in that particular game and in the season. There, I'll leave alone now. Until next time I have to avert my gaze when DDD is embarrassingly shoved off the puck to ruin a scoring chance.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
Wow. Just wow. DLR tries to jump around the King d-man to get a breakaway, the King guy falls trying to stop him and DLR gets a penalty. Wow. "Holding". Why would you 'hold' someone if you're trying to get by them? Oh right, Chris fucking Lee.
Huge juicy rebound in front....no one there.
Another fucking penalty? Did I see the ref point - almost touching Dish's shoulder - was that a smile? I want to see the replay. Maybe I'm just nuts.
Ok, It's me.
How can you give up two breakaways in 15 seconds, yet still have no one in the offensive zone or neutral zone? Same as the SJ game, WHERE IS EVERYONE?
So the Ducks have Fowler and the Kings have...King.
That's a power forward move. From the 5th d-man. Well, if the forwards aren't going to do it...
They're ALIIIIIIIVE!!!Jeez, when they decide to play they can play.
Love how they can just get away with holding DLR's stick.
Did they change the definition of 'interference' last night? Because if Prust's hit was interference and all this shit by the KIngs' D isn't then they must have changed the definition.
Prust had possession of the puck, no way, no how was that interference. Nothing surprises when chrisfuckinglee 'officiates'.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
Nolan is a dirty prick. Did you see him pull off CHarger's helmet when he was down?
Cheap shot artist Nolan. Better get a PP out of this.
It'd be nice if other teams were afraid of manhandling the Habs because they had a competent PP.
They call it roughing. Refs hesitate to call an instigator and Kerry said on Nilan's show that GM's automatically contest them because after I thinkPatCHes!!
To finish.... after 3, I think it's automatic suspension or ejection. Refs often check before the games who has had instigator penalties and don't call them if the player already has them.
That woke me up!
PatCHes! Ok, credit where it's due, great pass by DDD!
It's funny because on the replay Carter's stick in in Patch's ribs the whole time and that's apparently not hooking.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?Wow, this fucking league.
Notice the King's stick in Patch's skate? For most competent refs that would be tripping.
Between that and the interference call against Prust I feel like I'm watching a new sport and just trying to learn the rules.
moeman, we shouted too loud.
I needed it.
3 crosschecks on CHip and even Quick hits him and NO CALL
Nice hit by DSiP
Hang on boys!
Oh FFS, KILL IT
Go get an EN!Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
Yup, saw that one coming. We'll never see Lego again.
Well, a point. More than I thought they were going to get.
Go take it, boys!Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
It's pretty amazing what LA is getting away with this OT period. Let's just ignore the rules because it's OT.
You'd expect LA to be better than 1-7 in the SO with Quick in net.
Tough game for gCHuck.
Well, Toker vs Quick, I'll take Quick all day long. Toker could have saved something, though. Oh well, a point.
Oh...well...here we go.
Jesus christ Toker, save something.
Is Toker even fucking trying?
I love Lego, but I'm quickly losing patience with him.
I thought the Habs deserved a this one.
Well, your team scores 2/3 in the SO, you should win.
Well, at least the Habs have one NHL goalie. Nice hanging out with you juce. Good night. Almost quitting time for me on a Friday here!

The world has not ended...SO loss is not the end of days...I said all along the Habs need 4 goals when Toker plays...Lego in a shootout is almost never a good idea...but it is what it is!.. Shit just got real people....fuck! Go Habs Go!!
What happened?Did Chris Lee fuck them over, again?A point! I'll take it!!
