NHL is sinkin' and PFK don't wanna swim! ~ Sharks Game Preview and Open Thread

~ ~ ~
 ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~

PFK says; ‘All right!’

Stanley Cup blues on Ste. Catherine street, loose and complete
Under SFU skies all smoky puke green
He can't forsake a Stone Cold shake
So he danced the off-ice walk clean

Ref’s memory is muddy, what's this shit that I'm in?
NHL is sinking, man, and PFK don't want to swim

Colonel Quintal, what's wrong? What's going on?
You can't tie yourself up for a deal?
He said, Hey, north, you're south, shut your big mouth
You gotta do what you FHFeel is real

Ain't got no picture with goats cards, ain't got no RiCHard riot souvenirs
Habs babies they don't know me when I'm thinking bout those years

Dim as a light bulb hanging on a wire
Sucking up to Jacobs just to stoke the FHFire
Picking dives out of the highlights of the scenery?
Saw a black cloud that looked a little like crisfuckinglee

I put my Pants! in the river, my FHFeet back up on the banks
Looked up to the ghosts above and said, Hey, men, thanks

Sometimes I FHFeel no good I got to scream!
Moey said, moeman, baby, I know exactly what you mean
juce said, iRiri said, I swear to god FHFers said

Ref’s memory is muddy, what's this shit that I'm in?
NHL is sinking, man, and I don't want to Sip!

Sip!

Maybe uninstall and re-install shockwave but you shouldn't need shockwave for much.

I never thought I would ever see this day again.

Pre-game on cbc/hnic and no leaf mentioned. They made the Habs/Sharks the national game and relegated the leaf to the sportnet channels. This HAS to be a Rogers decision. Hnic would have showed the leaf no matter what and mclame and the crotch would have been sucking leaf dick from the get go. That's how bad the leaf are, even the SFU have abandoned them.

  17. Coupla tings kidz,

    - when the cbc had a hockey blog about some 7+ years ago, it was the best site for cross-Canada commenting. Team folders, crazy smart hockey fans and seriously sarcastic friends, a true community. They shut it down because too many people complained about crotch and mclame. The reason I mention it is because the dancing banana was one of my signature, post-Habs win comments.

    - the SFU will have their work cut out for them s they barely know the Habs, despite pinheads like simpleton and heely trying to squeeze a somewhat intelligent comment

  31. Looking for opinions. Been considering a 2nd vehicle. Thinking about upgrading the existing vehicle (since it caught fire on Friday...we'll see what insurance says next week). If I went to a dealer and was willing to purchase 2 new vehicles totalling 50-60K (MSRP & depending on what I get) what sort of discount should I go for. I'm thinking significant if i get 2 models that have been sitting on their lot all winter. I'm seriously considering this route. The VW option is the priciest, but I may start there.

  38. International Hockey News:

Went to a game here last night. Anyang (a satellite city of Seoul) is in the finals vs some Japanese team in the Asian Hockey League. Last night was G1 of the finals. Anyang lost 6-3, but the game was much closer than the score suggests. It was 4-3, and then Japan scored with about 5 mins left to make it 5-3. Anyang had a break away shortly after, but hit the post. Then Japan potted an ENG. Entertaining game all around.

-The IIHF and the Olympics have decided that Korea will play in the hockey tournament at the 2018 Olympics no matter their placing. After Turin 2006 where Italy got embarrassed they decided to not offer automatic qualification to home teams (then it was Canada, then Russia) but they've changed their minds I guess. So that should be fun. I can't wait to see Canada destroy them, NHL players or not. Korea has given citizenship to a few Canadians on their hockey team. But we're talking guys who maybe played college.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. O-man any ex-pat Canadian/NHLers?

      Delete
    2. Yup, each team is allowed to have something like 4-5 foreigners. Anyang has 2 Canadians that have been given citizenship and thus on the national team. Their goalie, who was the best in the league this year (not so hot last night, though) is also a foreigner. I'm not sure if he's Canadian or American. Durham is his name. The Japanese team had one guy that looked and acted just like Pronger. 10 feet tall, big, dirty, played most of the game, gave a few head shots, got lots of boos, you'd kill to have him on your team.

There was one ex-NHLer two years ago, Rick Jackman (he played for the leaf and others). His skill level was so ridiculously higher than everyone else on the ice. He looked like Orr out there. Actually, I just went to his wiki page and the pic of him is in his Anyang Halla uniform.

That's the only ex-NHL I know of who has played at least for Anyang. Not sure of the other teams. Up until this season there was only 1 Korean team in the league, but with the Olympics coming they made 2 more. One is the army team, the other just a domestic team. Haven't seen either of them play yet.

    7. Sadly that means Hughson/Simpleton. I'd much prefer Bartlett/Randorf/Romanuk/Random hobo over Hughson or Bob Cole. It can't possibly be 4 decades can it? I remember a time when the Habs were on pretty much weekly (if i recall correctly) And Danny Gallivan called the games and retired in the mid-80's. I 'think' back then there was only 1 national telecast. Perhaps I'm mistaken. Who cares. This shittiest of shit version of the leaf team shouldn't be on any tv. How could a fan bare to even watch this stuff? Might as well watch Hockey Wives. I was flipping around and noticed the premiere of that gongshow was on. I tuned in for about 18 seconds, which was long enough to hear Ryan Miller's pregnant (and overly botoxed or something) wife tell Mrs. Parros that "yes, I'm 103 lbs...I want to kill myself". I died a little inside for watching even that much, then flipped to something less braincell killing - Cops. Before heading back to curling.

Anyway I hear my oven. Turkey supper. Ciao.

  117. So I mosey on over to TSN (I know, I know) and I immediately see on the right hand side a still from a video with Gallagher on the ice. "Oh!" I think. "Maybe they're talking about how ridiculous that embellishment call was. Or, maybe, they're going to talk about how a Canadian team in first in the league. Or, possibly, they'll talk about the historic season Price is having!"

    Nope!

"FOR SHAME!: Diving is one of hockey's black arts that casts a dark cloud over the integrity of the game. Michael Farber takes a closer look at the NHL's fighting back against divers."

Surprise! Integrity of the game? The father of an active player is 2nd in command at the head office! There has been proof, in a court of law, that he has used his power to influence the game. The refs readily state that they call different players and teams differently. You have one team that was given carte blanche for 4-5 years to do whatever they wanted, including spearing in the groin, giving obscene gestures to the crowd, running goalies, almost paralyzing another guy, etc., etc., etc. and you handed them a Cup for their efforts. Teams that are in "emerging" markets get better calls while those in established markets get screwed. The "War Room" is literally located inside the building of one of the teams. Cameras aren't updated specifically because the NHL doesn't want the public to be able to make the calls, they want to have plausible deniability in close plays.

BUT! Diving is the worst thing that has happened to this league ever, and there is only one team that does it!!!1!!1!

This is all indicative of a league that has let the old boys network rule. Guys like Cherry, Milbury, et al. Guys that hate skill and what to see 4th line grinders be in charge, because that's all they ever were (if that). They think skill and excitement is terrible, the fans want to see AHLers hitting those skilled players from behind more.

The fact is, if the refs did their job diving wouldn't be an issue. But players (on ALL teams) have to go out of their way to show the ref that something is happening because the officials are too busy thinking about their future columns at TSN to see the ample hooking, holding and interference in front of them. The league keeps saying they want more scoring. Well, make more room for your skilled players then. Punish the goons for slowing down the game instead of letting the old boys network make them heroes.

But it all doesn't matter. It really doesn't have much to do with diving in general. If it did, guys like Marchard and Ryan would be in those videos. It's about Jacobs calling up his buddy Bettman and getting him to target a specific team for revenge. And the (Canadian) media are all too happy to lap up the Habs Hate. I can guarantee you , if MTL wasn't a playoff team this year all this talk about 'diving' wouldn't be happening.

In sum, FUCK YOU TSN AND YOUR CORPORATE MASTERS.

  119. Here's what I think. During the playoffs Julien whined (as usual) every time the Habs got a PP to take the focus off of his team and his own short-comings, then he passed the torch to Vigneault and he ran with it even though Kreider got a away with his intentional 'collision' into TFS. Jacobs went bonkers because the Habs were and are better than his shit-stained team and had his player's father and Bettman come up with a scheme such as 'lists' (which existed all along) and target the 'listed' players, fine them, go public to 'shame' them and make them wear the scarlet 'D". Yet KidG is told during a game by a ref that they won't call an infraction if it's against him. Then there's the ORA's Kerry Fraser who will slag a Habs player any chance he gets, on his blog about Panik getting fined he finds it necessary to mention that PFK has to clean up his act - wtf does PFK have to do with a story about the leaf's Panik? or the one he had when the Jets played pinball with KidG and he blamed him and his 'reputation' for the refs not calling any of the 3-4 Jets abusing him and not allowing him to leave their zone.

These latest fines and calls against the Habs are just a 'prep' work for the up-coming playoffs to keep them at the top of the "list" so the refs will have extra ammunition to give their opponents carte-blanche to go after PFK & KidG so they can look the other way and hand out more embellishment calls on them because Jacobs and Bettman will do anything to prevent them from winning.
