  3. Turds should beat the laffingstocks. Rags should beat the B's. I say don't hurt yourselves trying too hard tonight boys. If the cats win to move within a point of the broons, so be it.

But, don't try to lose, like some teams we know and 'love'. \

  5. You hear a lot of the same crap about the Habs' lack of offence from all of the mediots. I haven't heard that mentioned about one other team in the playoffs. Through 75 games the Habs have 197 goals. The Kings have 199, the Pens have 204, the Hawks have 209. A number of teams have 212. So even those teams at 212 goals score one more goal than the Habs every 5 games. Yet it would appear the only team whose offence is a real concern heading into the playoffs is the Habs. The jealousy and envy they have towards the Habs is almost laughable if it wasn't so sad and weird, especially considering the fucking pile of compost they cheer for.

  6. There is something to be said about going into the playoffs on a roll...so the Habs need to string a few wins together...Start playing playoff hockey now...especially against any team they might face in the playoffs.

    Go Habs Go!!

UK switches its clocks forward tonight after the game so last one at 11 for a while!! WooHoo!!

Its like he is trying his hardest to suck up to leafools whilst dissing the Habs to suck up to leafools. 37. That was an "interesting" period...I really don't like the way the Habs skate across the blueline and either fire it into the corner or skate with the puck into the corner. The net is in the middle of the ice...not the corner. They picked it up towards the end of the period and almost got a PP goal...good on Lego. Every goal he scores should have "Fuck you Therrien" written i tape on the puck.

And what the fuck is going on in Therrien's pea brain when he has 5'-5" Desharnais trying to screen 6'-4" Luongo or 6'-8" Pekka Rinne on the PP or Gallagher for that matter? The ol' coach is going to live or die with his little pet. The minutes he feeds him are incredible.

Yeah, moe mentioned friedman earlier, snet ruined him but he was leaf tainted by cbc/hnic a few years earlier. Anaheim (1st overall) has1 more point but Habs have a game in hand and Ducks have a goal differential of +10.

Yet the Habs have an 'anemic offence'.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Anonymous7:47 AM

I agree anemic is a bit strong to use, however when you look at Goals For, of the 8 teams in playoff contention right now, only Boston has fewer goals (Montreal has 200 to Boston's 199). But Montreal's Goals Against is so low (thanks mainly to Price), that makes their Goal Differential so high. We have all been saying on here, we need more offence.

Good morning everyone. I've been doing my usual reading of last night's games and noticed a few comments in one of the cotu rags about the old crotch's rant in his xenophobic segment he gets every week. I hit the mute button during all this but he was apparently trashing the leaf for signing "college boys" instead of good Canadian kids playing in the OHL. Whatever. What caught my eye was he showed a clip of N8 getting "beat" in a fight with the Jets' Jim Slater last Thursday in Winnipeg. I happened to see that minor tilt and from what I remember, N8 lost his footing or got off balance and took a couple of shots and when he did regain his footing, the linesmen had stepped in and stopped it. I guess the gist of this is Winnipeg is so much tougher than Montreal, they couldn't possibly win a series against said Jets. I'm thinking the old fool forgot or conveniently neglected to mention N8's other two fights earlier this season which were one punch KO's by #28. I'm guessing this bitter old leaffool was grasping for straws to bring down the Habs from their lofty perch in the league standings. What a sad old fool indeed.

Montreal can score, despite what the advanced analytics dweebs tell us, they defend very well and have two guys on the back end you better be aware of when coming up ice in (Y) and Plaid and the best goalie in the world. They also have a couple of forwards who can in CHarger and CHip (double sip) who can create havoc if necessary. Should be some good playoff hockey in the near future. The Habs do have one weak link but I'm not going to go there.

One thing I have to say though, all this winning is nice but we are watching Jacques Lemaire hockey, the trap reincarnated by eMTy. It's crap hockey but it is effective and essentially the whole league is playing it. I love the Canadiens, their history and the legendary players who have worn the iconic sweaters but, if I didn't have decades of my life invested in watching them, I doubt I would be interested NHL hockey today. Junior hockey is mistake riddled but is by far more entertaining because of it.

Well, for now anyway. We are getting a fair bit of melting but there are still mountains of the stuff in parking lots every where. I'd guess there is an average of 4-5 feet still on my property, plus the huge pile beside the garage from plowing and my piling it there.

Statement game tomorrow, I hope CHarger goes right after that freak Bishop right off the bat and gets him off his game.

  94. "The Florida Panthers aren't happy with the referees and intend on letting the league know.

At issue is the way Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens ended, with a Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck in the penalty box in overtime on a high-sticking call.

Towards the end of regulation, however, defenseman Aaron Ekblad received a high-stick and lost part of his tooth, but no penalty was called on the play.

Because of this seeming inconsistency, Panthers owner Frank Viola sees the need to speak up on behalf of his club:

    Harvey Fialkov @hfialkov
Panthers owner Viola will talk to league about unfair officiating after Habs OT according to source close to team #FlaPanthers
    12:19 PM - 29 Mar 2015
The point dropped by losing in overtime could prove costly for the Panthers' playoff hopes, but Viola likely just wants his team get a fair shake."

Maybe he should watch the game again and note a more blatant non-call for his team when Gallagher was body-slammed onto his back a la WWE and shut his yap. This will surely lead to more biased officiating against the Habs going forward.
