Bored tonight, so I watched the highlgights of some of the playoff games last year. Jesus Price, every excuse made for the other team. I know we noticed it at the time, but in retrospect it's hard to hear, especially against the broons. In sum, Habs were "lucky". Every goal, every not goal against. Luck. And that was the "home" broadcast
Anyway, it reinstalls faith in me that the boys on the ice will do what's necessary to win despite the 'system'. Can't watch the game live tomorrow as it's 6am my time, and I don't do 6am anyone's time. I get to work at 830, so it should be finishing up by then and I have a while before class to watch on replay. I love gamecenter, best purchase I've ever made. But I don't like that if I log on while the game is still going on it goes live. So maybe I'll log on with 5 minutes left, and it ruins the whole thing. I've been there before. And then what am I supposed to do, mark tests and lesson plan? Seriously, it's Monday morning. Nothing's getting done.
Was hoping the EB would leave that chocolate covered lass in pic 1. Probably for the best...mrs. Pad probably wouldn't let me have it until after dinner anyway.
Well, last game they at least showed us a graphic to give us some hope. There are teams in the playoffs with a worse PP than the Habs, including the league leading Ducks and the Preds, while the shitRags, Hawks and Bolts are barely better than our boys. So if certain 'small' adjustments aren't made to improve the PP, maybe that's not a big concern.
Took a while to find a feed. Why Gamecentre determines a blackout is necessary is strange but whaddyagonnado! So found a good French language feed - rds- so catching up...hope patches is ok. Nice goal for Plexxe - DSp on the pp...let's see...go Habs go! Go Habs go!
still with the Canadian Club from way up at 1:42 PM when the 4HF commentariat told me to start drinking. ran out of Canada Dry though, so I'm mixing with diet 7-up
sorry for the lack of bizarro-nes. still have two periods to come up with something
Go the old fashion route...I will join you but jam out of Jim beam so it will have to be Jack...put a bit of sugar syrup and bitter on ice and mix in the Jack slowly...if you can zest an orange it helps and is really nice too!
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!!!!!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs!! Go Habs Go!!!!!!
My Old fashioned Gentleman Jack is going down a treat! Please for the love of God let it not be wasted on some sort of defensive shell in the third period. So far, so good!
Just watched that rds version of what the coach does in the intermission...my French is s bit rusty but I think he said that he goes into the video room and beats off...
TSN just can't let their leafs go! Link on homepage goes to...playoff picture? Standings? NOPE! Lottery odds! Because that's what hockey fans coast to coast care about. What tanking loser team has the best shot at snagging a guy no one really cared about until the leaf had a chance to get him.
Then they make a big deal about the leaf winning, how it screwed over the Sens because they're no longer in control of their own destiny. Except that even if the Sens won, they'd still be behind in points with the same amount of games played so they still wouldn't have been in control of their own destiny. But OMG LEAFS!
I watched this game on delay after Easter dinner. Habsfan29 and K3X's drinking notes were more entertaining. Still, congrats to Carey Price for joining Canadiens legends Jacques Plante and my fave goalie Ken Dryden with a 42 win season. Two more chances to break the record Carey, go for it! Also, congrats to SuperPleXXXe on scoring his 200th career goal which ties him for 22nd with Bobby Rousseau on the Habs all time scoring list. General Vodkov apparently moved past someone significant for games played in Montreal, he has well over 800 now. I predict he will play 1000 in the sacred flannel and retire a Hab.
I guess something significant happened for MT last night but I don't care.
So, Price should play against the Wings this Thursday and let Toker have the putrid leaf on Saturday. No since risking Carey getting hurt against those imbeciles.
Interesting scenario, ``if PIT misses the playoffs and wins the lottery. EDM has their 1st rounder. ``What does this mean? Well, should the Penguins finish the season as a lottery team, and if by some small chance they end up being awarded the first overall pick, it will indeed be the Oilers who reap the benefits and have the opportunity to call Connor McDavid's name on draft day.`
Dr Recchi says most players take harder hits to the brain than Patches did by eating ice cream to fast. So expect him back when the temp gets above zero for two days in a row.
There is a revolutionary new fiber stuff for helmets get it on the players heads already. Consumer reports just tested a whole wack of helments and in terms of concussions they are as useful as a GM is to the leaf.
Normally I would be freaking out with worry about patches and pushing the panic button right through the desk. However now that DSP has been re shaped inot a better team mate, I am confident he can step up, already he is on a goal a game pace.
When I saw the coach had reunited Patches with DD on the first shift and put DSiP with them, I lost all hope that he had any clue as to what he is doing. I give up.
we are scoring challanged, we are good scoring chance challanged. So there are two alternatives. 1) put all your scoring assest on one line Patches, G Chuck and SuperPlexxxe, hope they can beat the best any team can throw at them and consistantly generate threats. 2) Put fourth line players on your first line and hope they can consistantly not fail.
Patches was able to fly back with the team so I hope that`s a good sign. He did look dazed and confused though and already concussed by the shaved ape, aside from hockey, I am hoping and wishing everything works out for `wolverine``
Patches was heard to say " the great thing about dating high school girls is that while you get older they stay the same age" Thats how dazed and confused he was.
Watching the Ranger/Bjs game on MSG. Haven't heard such homers since I watched a leaf or bruin game. D'oh, Rangers tie it up with seconds left. It doesn't really matter, I just want to see their smug little faces in pain.

DeleteJESUS LIFT THE PUCK
ReplyDeleteAnothrer pp starts with dd on the ice...and a nice pass to no one!
ReplyDeleteif only "no one" was a better sniper ddd would have 50 assists

ReplyDeleteOK that was an ok period at least
ReplyDeleteRDS says still no patches news
So as it's just me and you 29 - what bizarre combo of drink do you have going this fine Easter sunday? I am on Stella Artois
ReplyDeletestill with the Canadian Club from way up at 1:42 PM when the 4HF commentariat told me to start drinking. ran out of Canada Dry though, so I'm mixing with diet 7-up
Deletesorry for the lack of bizarro-nes. still have two periods to come up with something
bought some bitters this week maybe I'll try to make an old-fashioned or manhattan like the cool kids are doing these days as if it was the 1950's
DeleteGo the old fashion route...I will join you but jam out of Jim beam so it will have to be Jack...put a bit of sugar syrup and bitter on ice and mix in the Jack slowly...if you can zest an orange it helps and is really nice too!
Deletekarma! I went for the old fashioned:
DeleteAlberta Springs Canadian rye, sugar syrup, bitters, ice. I had no orange so threw in a very slim lemon wedge. delish!
God I hope PatCHes is ok

ReplyDeleteShame patches is hurt - this game so easily could have been the one where he notched a couple of goals...
ReplyDelete2 decent periods.
ReplyDeleteHANG ON BOYS
Just for fun, I would really like to see them do more than hang on. I would love to see them push forward and actually score more goals...
Deletehahahahhaha you kill me K3X. "push forward", that's funny
DeleteJack is my friend...
DeleteJust watched that rds version of what the coach does in the intermission...my French is s bit rusty but I think he said that he goes into the video room and beats off...
ReplyDeleteto DDD?
DeleteBiennsur...!
DeleteWow...KIA apparently has a car that has an indicator to tell you if you are not driving in between the lines...what will they think of next...
ReplyDeleteOK my next Old Fashioned has been made with Makers 46. Delish again! The "mix the (whiskey) in slowly" advice was good stuff K3X
ReplyDeleteI asked a bartender in a posh old London club about it and he told me that a proper old fashioned should take 2-3 minutes to make properly. Enjoy!
DeleteJust watching DSiP's goal again, I still don't believe it
ReplyDelete5 on 3 good luck Habs
ReplyDeletewell that 5 on 3 was pathetic
ReplyDeletewell all that PP time was pathetic

ReplyDeleteI welcome TFS to my numbersake's club
ReplyDeleteIt's been my pleasure. Please drink responsibly!
ReplyDeleteMwahhhhaaaaahhahahahaha
DeleteJust caught up. Thoughts:
ReplyDelete1) OH GOD NO NOT PATCHES!
2) A terrible Florida team who just got mathematically eliminated is making the Habs look better than they are, and they still don't look that good.
3) Why can guys just repeatedly run TFS and skate away instead of being taken off on a stretcher?
4) OH GOD PATCHES, PLEASE BE OK!
5) Their first line is now DSiP, DDD and PAP. Hahahahahahahaha!!!!
6) Ok, fine, PAP and DSiP both scored, but see above about a terrible FLO team making them look better tonight.
7) Actually, PAP looks good tonight, I'll give him that.
8) PATCHES PLEASE GIVE US A SIGN!
9) Ok, it's a win. TFS finally ties Plante and Dryden. MT...does something.
10) Who's going to miss the playoffs? Wings or Pens?
11) PAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Congratulations to TFS on reaCHing 42 wins.
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Orangeman
