  1. Bored tonight, so I watched the highlgights of some of the playoff games last year. Jesus Price, every excuse made for the other team. I know we noticed it at the time, but in retrospect it's hard to hear, especially against the broons. In sum, Habs were "lucky". Every goal, every not goal against. Luck. And that was the "home" broadcast

Anyway, it reinstalls faith in me that the boys on the ice will do what's necessary to win despite the 'system'. Can't watch the game live tomorrow as it's 6am my time, and I don't do 6am anyone's time. I get to work at 830, so it should be finishing up by then and I have a while before class to watch on replay. I love gamecenter, best purchase I've ever made. But I don't like that if I log on while the game is still going on it goes live. So maybe I'll log on with 5 minutes left, and it ruins the whole thing. I've been there before. And then what am I supposed to do, mark tests and lesson plan? Seriously, it's Monday morning. Nothing's getting done.

It is indeed, but I'll be damned if I will drink that British crap! though I am pretty sure Canada Dry is owned by a British conglomerate now.

  12. Nice goal by BlanCHe.

Was hoping the EB would leave that chocolate covered lass in pic 1. Probably for the best...mrs. Pad probably wouldn't let me have it until after dinner anyway.

Well, last game they at least showed us a graphic to give us some hope. There are teams in the playoffs with a worse PP than the Habs, including the league leading Ducks and the Preds, while the shitRags, Hawks and Bolts are barely better than our boys. So if certain 'small' adjustments aren't made to improve the PP, maybe that's not a big concern.

    Keep calm and Carey on.

    3. Go the old fashion route...I will join you but jam out of Jim beam so it will have to be Jack...put a bit of sugar syrup and bitter on ice and mix in the Jack slowly...if you can zest an orange it helps and is really nice too!

    4. karma! I went for the old fashioned:

Alberta Springs Canadian rye, sugar syrup, bitters, ice. I had no orange so threw in a very slim lemon wedge. delish!

  57. Just caught up. Thoughts:

    1) OH GOD NO NOT PATCHES!

    2) A terrible Florida team who just got mathematically eliminated is making the Habs look better than they are, and they still don't look that good.

    3) Why can guys just repeatedly run TFS and skate away instead of being taken off on a stretcher?

    4) OH GOD PATCHES, PLEASE BE OK!

    5) Their first line is now DSiP, DDD and PAP. Hahahahahahahaha!!!!

    6) Ok, fine, PAP and DSiP both scored, but see above about a terrible FLO team making them look better tonight.

    7) Actually, PAP looks good tonight, I'll give him that.

    8) PATCHES PLEASE GIVE US A SIGN!

    9) Ok, it's a win. TFS finally ties Plante and Dryden. MT...does something.

    10) Who's going to miss the playoffs? Wings or Pens?

    11) PAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. And a big congratulations to PleXXXe on his 200th goal.

  61. TSN just can't let their leafs go! Link on homepage goes to...playoff picture? Standings? NOPE! Lottery odds! Because that's what hockey fans coast to coast care about. What tanking loser team has the best shot at snagging a guy no one really cared about until the leaf had a chance to get him.

Then they make a big deal about the leaf winning, how it screwed over the Sens because they're no longer in control of their own destiny. Except that even if the Sens won, they'd still be behind in points with the same amount of games played so they still wouldn't have been in control of their own destiny. But OMG LEAFS!

Did the Habs win? 3rd story down.

I watched this game on delay after Easter dinner. Habsfan29 and K3X's drinking notes were more entertaining. Still, congrats to Carey Price for joining Canadiens legends Jacques Plante and my fave goalie Ken Dryden with a 42 win season. Two more chances to break the record Carey, go for it! Also, congrats to SuperPleXXXe on scoring his 200th career goal which ties him for 22nd with Bobby Rousseau on the Habs all time scoring list. General Vodkov apparently moved past someone significant for games played in Montreal, he has well over 800 now. I predict he will play 1000 in the sacred flannel and retire a Hab.

I guess something significant happened for MT last night but I don't care.

So, Price should play against the Wings this Thursday and let Toker have the putrid leaf on Saturday. No since risking Carey getting hurt against those imbeciles.

  66. Interesting scenario, ``if PIT misses the playoffs and wins the lottery. EDM has their 1st rounder.
``What does this mean? Well, should the Penguins finish the season as a lottery team, and if by some small chance they end up being awarded the first overall pick, it will indeed be the Oilers who reap the benefits and have the opportunity to call Connor McDavid's name on draft day.`

SFU will go into a deep depression.

  67. Dr Recchi says most players take harder hits to the brain than Patches did by eating ice cream to fast. So expect him back when the temp gets above zero for two days in a row.

There is a revolutionary new fiber stuff for helmets get it on the players heads already. Consumer reports just tested a whole wack of helments and in terms of concussions they are as useful as a GM is to the leaf.

  68. Normally I would be freaking out with worry about patches and pushing the panic button right through the desk. However now that DSP has been re shaped inot a better team mate, I am confident he can step up, already he is on a goal a game pace.

When I saw the coach had reunited Patches with DD on the first shift and put DSiP with them, I lost all hope that he had any clue as to what he is doing. I give up.

    1. we are scoring challanged, we are good scoring chance challanged. So there are two alternatives. 1) put all your scoring assest on one line Patches, G Chuck and SuperPlexxxe, hope they can beat the best any team can throw at them and consistantly generate threats. 2) Put fourth line players on your first line and hope they can consistantly not fail.
