  1. Although the guys are playing like shit, it's obvious that MT (once again) is being completely outcoached. There has been absolutely no adjustments on his part the whole series, and certainly not since they started sucking. DSP will be on that first line when the Sens are celebrating in game 7. DDD will be on the first PP unit until one of them leave this team. Eller will be marginalized until he retires in Legoland. They will dump and chase, play the perimeter and pass pass pass until they day we all die. They are still (trying to) play the game the exact same way they did in game 1. Cameron and the Sens have adjusted, MT and the Habs have not.

  6. This game (ooh, Kate Upton's boobs) is hard to watch, but I'm going to stick it out. This game is probably lost (I won't count them totally out), but I want to at least see some fucking heart. Some hits. Some traffic in front of Craig Fucking Anderson. Just show me that you care. That's all I'm asking at this point.

    4. which guy (undeservedly) subs out for PA?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Mitchell, Flynn and Prust have the same amount of points as DDD, Patches, PleXXXe, gCHuck and KidG.

In other words, the 4th line has the same amount of points as the 5 highest scoring forwards from the regular season.

Never mind skill level, those 5 scorers are averaging between 18-20 minutes of TOI (which includes all the PP time). The 4th liners are getting 10-11. When you throw in Weise into those bottom guys it's pretty obvious where the trouble is on this team. Your best players have to be your best players.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sens fans are such drama queens. So we can add 5 more Habs who should get suspended to the list now. I know most of them just started watching hockey 2 months ago, but they seem to be really confused about what a penalty is. By the way, after the game Anderson said what Prust did was no big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I know I should let it go, but I got lost in a stats hole. Do you know how many goals DDD has in 31 career playoff games. I'll give you a minute here.

TWO! Two fucking playoff goals (and one was an empty netter)!

Oh, but wait, you say. Davey's a playmaker, not a sniper! He surely has a bundle of assists to go along with those 2 huge goals! Again, take a guess....

TEN! Ten assists in 31 playoff games!

Some of you might think, Well that's not too bad. 12 points in 31 games. And again I ask, for a first line center who gets tops minutes, plays with the team's only real sniper and has the majority of PP time?

I have a headache. Time to go watch the old men play croquet in the park.

  67. Lars Eller somehow got less than three minutes in the first period. Don't know what the coach is doing with this player. He's one of the best and never can get any ice time. He chased down Stone in the third period to stop a breakaway. Stone didn't even get a shot. Eller went to the front of the net the entire night and was a mess for the Sens D to handle.

Sstatistically what did you think about Patches and DDD's game?
    "Everyone needs to be better"

What does Lego have to do to get more ice time? He's played very well over the last 2 games?
"We play 4 lines, the 3rd and 4th lines get about the same ice-time"

The 3rd and 4th yes, but compared to the 1st two trios is what I want to know
    "We play 4 lines"
    http://www.rds.ca/vid%C3%A9os/anderson-a-%C3%A9t%C3%A9-tr%C3%A8s-bon-3.1131905

Fuck yes, DDD is not more 'deserving' than Lego.

Maybe I shouldn't comment as I only watched half the game and this is only my half-assed theory, but these players are so dedicated to "the System" they play like robots. "I must not deviate from the System." So if the opposition coach figures out how to beat your "System" how about you re-adjust to their style so you can at least keep up? My eyes aren't what they used to be but it looked like Ottawa had a pretty simple plan. Weather the opening 10 minutes or so then just crowd Carey Price and fire lots of shots at the net. By the time Therrien figured it out they were down 3 zip. DDD and Max are a mess and gCHuk looks lost. Maybe put those guys in a blender and change things up? Anyway, they still got two cracks at this. Go Habs.

The eMpTy DDD Max love triangle will ultimately be the Habs undoing. When they are eliminated in Game 7 on home ice hopefully GMMB will finally recognize this and address it. I actually don't care if MT remains the coach, he is irrelevant, it's DDD who has to go. Big time liability.

  76. Went out today for some beers with a friend in the sunshine. I will try not to dwell on the fact that it's 22c here with sunshining sun because I know there are still parts of Canada that are experiencing snow.

Things I was mulling over today in the warm sunlight:

-gCHuck was drafted as the Habs first line center. He has played 12 total games at center in 3 years and has collected 10 points. According to the team (aka coach) he asked to be removed because he wasn't being the best at that position. So although we like to say it's not DDD's fault that MT keeps putting him there, obviously the coach would respond to him saying it's not the best decision for the team. And in case it's not blindingly clear, him being the #1 center is not the best decision for the team.

-The EGG line was reunited for one shift this year. They produced a goal. They have not been put back together since, despite all of the line mixing that has been tried.

-As mentioned, Lego only got 3 minutes of ice in the 1st period, and one of the lowest totals for the game. Despite that, he got the most shots (tied with others), the most shot attempts and the best Corsi (which I don't understand, but I know it's good) despite having the most d-zone starts. DDD was one of two Habs without a shot attempt, along with (Y)Emelin.

Thank goodness it was sunny and warm (have I mentioned that yet?) otherwise these things would have eaten me up today. In closing I'd like to also point out that the Pens' 5 game exit this season is their quickest departure since 2007. Can anyone guess who their coach was at that time? Yes, he got them to the 2008 finals. And then he got them to a .500 record the next year before he was ousted, they went on a tear and then won the Cup. As I always say, it's not about this year (I don't think the 2015 Habs are the 2009 Pens). It's about the next few years. My greatest fear isn't losing this series, it's looking back in 5 years and having a 2014 ECF as the best result for this team.

Maybe I'm taking it all too seriously, though. Too much vitamin D from that blazing sun today got me dizzy. I should just get my AC dusted off instead of worrying about this stuff.

GO HABS GO! and all that.

  77. Everyone reading this blog is well centered and able to judge the world as it is. Evidence is important in making that declartion and exepct or OLEG I have to say Habs fans on this site are all in Universe 1. I do not mention it much any more but I walk the astral plane and thats an expericence you can not really buy, unless your dealer has good LSD. Do not confuse science with morality watch Fringe if you do not already know the differance.

So I have been probing the alternative universe and come to the conculsion we win the next game. Do not confuse this with a prediction.

  78. Despite all the problems with this team, I believe they won't lose 4 straight to the turds. If the Wings can manage to knock off the Bolts, I think they can handle them. I wouldn't bet a nickel on them beating TB though. Then...who know.

But if MT doesn't adjust by changing up the PP, sitting $, gCHuk, or Patches (i won't even suggest ddd), then nothing will come easy.

  80. "The New York Rangers may not be all that encouraged after making history in their opening-round series victory over thePittsburgh Penguins.
While the Rangers managed to dispose of the Penguins in five games, it wasn't due to an abundance of offense.

What makes this even more dubious is the fact the Penguins were without three of their top defensemen in the series, namely Kris Letang, Christian Ehrhoff and Olli Maatta.

Most notably, regular season goal leader Rick Nash (42) was held to one goal in five games, while Martin St. Louis - who ranked second with 21 - failed to hit the back of the net.

The Rangers did manage to contain superstars Sidney Crosby andEvgeni Malkin, but will need to get the sticks going if they're going to return to the Stanley Cup Final."

  83. I took Saturday to contemplate what happened Friday night. I stated very early that the Habs would be in trouble if they didn't cash in early. They had the chances given to them. A pp which yielded fuck All set the pace for the game. They had a lot of shots...but a lot of the shots were easy stops for Anderson. I'm too lazy to research it but how many games did the Habs lose this year when they had over 40 shots? I suspect not too many...playoff hockey is opportunist hockey and the Habs didn't take advantage of the opportunities. Back to Anderson - why the fuck he didn't get at least a minor for his assault on Charger I will never understand...the ref was standing right there...tonight's game is going to be another intense affair with the turds trying to hit everything that moves...if the Habs can play their own game, weather that first 10 minutes and actually get a few decent shots on Anderson (he isn't that good!) then I think that they will be o. JUST FUCKING WIN, go Habs go!
