Oh good, 29's halfbreed jersey again. Let's make a deal: Habs lose tonight it's bad luck and you have to burn it. Habs win tonight...you still burn it. (You know I internet love you 29!)

I cannot handle the excitement. I totally flaked on plans tonight so I can get to bed at a good time to be up at 8am for puck drop tomorrow. I'm not, well, 29 anymore. I can't do the stay up late and wake up early, even for a hockey game on my computer these days. I need my 8 hours, bitCHes. Apparently drinking heavily at 8am is considered one of the major signs of alcoholism (prudes) so instead I went to Costco and got honest to god real bacon! That'll be my treat for the morning.

I spent a large portion of my day reading everything about THE slash. Talk about blown out of proportion. PK's comments were totally classy and prepared by the Habs PR department. Still, completely the right things to say, unlike everyone on the other side. I actually expect a pretty quiet game since the refs will be pretty tight and both teams won't want to piss them off. And now I'm totally done talking about it.

Thanks again moe for providing us with this space to say ridiculous things and share the fun!

    GO HABS GO!

    2. I am just catching up with the comments from the rest of yesterday's thread, and I see you called me out oman. Good for you! I deserved it!

In my defense, I absolutely NEVER said this shit didn't happen in the past. It was way worse! As you mentioned Bob don't call me Bobby anymore Clarke, the Rocket, and any number of players slashing the hell out of people when they barely had any padding in those days. I also agree that PFK is held to a higher standard and that's a load of crap. And also that many other slashes are the same and PFK gets treated worse. It doesn't change my mind though that it was stupid. But essentially we agree!

      Ya also.
What I meant to say is that players in the day got hacked but I don't think the president of the hockey club got up and tuned themselves into some king of whining ninny in the media.
Scuse me for my engineering English.
      I try hard.

  4. Great playoff sexy Friday Moeman.

I may need 29 to take a 13 year old kid for everything, wipe that little fucker out for infringing on my copyright. I juist have to figure out if the Sens goalie phenom should be a co defendent. Turdbugler is my property punk.

I am also freaking out this morning over the future of the team. If no team will make a trade with us we are doomed. Ask yourself if your a GM are you goning to make a deal with DGMB. No fucking way, In 2015 it will be a firing offence in the had offices of the leauge. " We have tape of you talking to DGMB, your fired"

Go You Fucking Habs Go Go Go Go Go Go a Go Go!

  7. Yesterday on 'we think That's Hockey' there were 4 'analysts' Gagnon, the Sens guy Weircoch, Lawless, meh, I forget the last one. So Weircoch says the Sens could win but won't get past Tampa, Gagnon says the Habs could win but won't get past Tampa. Why bother playing the games? Just move Tampa to the 3rd round already. I hop they eat fucking crow.

    1. Tampa's gotta get past Detroit first. I watched most of the game. Reminded me of the 2010 Habs vs Caps/Pens. I am not exaggerating. Ice was tilted in one direction, but every chance the Wings got they capitalized on. I don't even know who their goalie was and while I wouldn't declare him Halakian yet, he had a solid game.

    2. Yeah, I was flipping between the Wings and Pens game. He started Mrazek (sp) because Howard wasn't didn't do too well last Habs game.

  9. Great Sexy Friday Gameday Moeman - Nice ones all 'round! I am on this game until the end tonight boys and girls. I fully expect that I will be watching en francais as Gamecentre deems the UK as a blackout area - so comments on the ipad and game on the laptop. It's Friday night so I will worry about tomorrow when it gets here. Anyone know who the refs are tonight? I really want a good game and no bullshitstorm as a result of what happened last time. Play hard, play nice - JUST FUCKING WIN BOYS! Go Habs Go!!

    1. Have you considered using a VPN of some sort with your Gamecenter? I pay for mine (hideyourass), but I think there are free ones out there. Then you can set it up to appear to be somewhere else. But VPNs are often slow, so I don't know. Thank goodness there's no Koreans in the NHL and thus they don't broadcast hockey. Just baseball, the Premiere League and women's golf.

    2. They haven't announced the refs yet. Some idiot on tsn was asking Fraser to explain why the league allowed Dave Jackson, a ref from Montreal was allowed to call the game. Stupid thing to say when they were wearing Sens jerseys all night. I guess Sens fans believe everything Mclame says too,

    3. O-Man - I tried hideyourass but it was really slow - I have had some success with zenmate but haven't tried it on the ipad - which is where I run gamecetre from - but might try tonight. I don't mind TVA and it saves me from all things SN/Rogers/CBC

  10. "Having a guy like Neil out there kind of helps mediate the cheap shots," said defenseman Marc Methot, referring to Subban's second-period slash on Stone. "He knows his role and he's able to play both ways too. Having him out there will certainly help."

Yeah, like Neil is any matCH for PK.

    1. Let them dress Neil - then the Habs need to completely ignore him. If he comes after someone, let him draw an instigator, then scrap with him. By ignoring him he becomes a distraction to the turds, throws their game off more and allows the Habs more chances to score - Just Win Baby!!

  11. @29 and Chester: I don't even know what I was talking about. More raging against the comments I read all over the web and then took some of your words to make a point. I like the smell of grandstanding in the morning.

I do often wonder what our modern day reaction would be to the Rocket in that instance. I've said it before, you can't compare generations but I'd find it hard to defend attacking a player with a stick and then punching out a ref. I mean, it's cool as part of our history to show the passion of the club and town. And it was before video, never mind instant global feeds and the internet. But man.

    GO HABS GO!

  13. So hockey talk. Can the 3rd and 4th lines continue this play? They carried the team so much last game that I honestly forgot who was in the top 6 when I thought about it later (except for KidG who was a beast out there). When I heard PAP was injured I thought it was an old article talking about game 1. No kidding. I didn't even realize he was on the ice. And I watched the game twice! With all the theatre going on around the nonsense, a lot has been taken away from the performance of the 4th line (which is probably a good thing. Keep them under the radar). Flynn's (Jr's?) pass to Lego for the SHG was nothing short of awesome. Even besides the goal, Mitchell was great on faceoffs. Speaking of the goals, it's obvious that they're forcing the Hamburger to go East West, and it's just as obvious that they're having success at it. Keep it up boys!

I am very, very happy with Petry. I hope they can lock him up after this year. As for the other d-men, I didn't hear much from them which is exactly what I want from the bottom three guys. Vodkov will likely not have those brainfarts from now on.

    No need to rush Patches.

    Hey kiddies, Happy Sexy Friday!

Slash-Gate way over blown, it's only the mediots who drive this shit. The Habs are guilty at times as well, see: Gryba on Lego and shaved ape on Patches. It's all gamesmanship.

Food for thought: If the Penguins bow out meekly (Crosby and Malkin did nothing last night) and Mario and company decide they have to alter the make-up the the team, should GMMB make a play for either of them? This is kind of like Moey's Pretzel question the other day. Either of them probably have about 3-4 good years left. Crosby always loved the Habs but it would be expensive. My take is if Montreal makes it to the Finals this year then no, they don't need him but if they bow out early I would take a shot at Sid if the opportunity arose.

  17. Stone is playing tonight, book it. Teams are never as forthcoming as they were about specifics of injuries, yet they kept the biggest question up in the air? No way. I'm sick of talking about slashgate, but here's the thing. The Sens couldn't just say he was fine and would be playing next game. That would have discredited everyone from his little performance on the ice to the coach to the GM. No, they have to say "microfracture", which can mean anything. Then they have to pretend like his availability is up in the air until the last minute. He'll be on the ice and the narrative will be that he's such a brave warrior for struggling through it. Which may or may not be accurate, but the fact remains the Habs won't be able to touch him without getting a call. On the flip side (hopefully) the refs will be extra careful with the Sens after the remarks made.

This is often overlooked, but remember last year when Julien et al complained about the refs after I think Game 2? The broons ended up only getting 1 PP the next two games. I think the Habs have, for the most part, learned from that. That's why PK was out there yesterday (today...I get lost on the time difference) praising the ref's call. That's why it was stupid to chirp them in OT of the Toronto game. Yes they're crooked. But calling them out on their crookedness is only going to invite more negative attention. Whatever I say about MT 2.0, he seems to have learned this. We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe MB or Geoff Molson talked with the head office and did a good job of implying that Murray and Cameron were making them look weak. I doubt they need help seeing that.

Anyway, as I said before, I expect a relatively quiet game. It'd be stupid for either team to start something. Which means Ottawa has to totally change their game seeing as they were pushing and shoving after every whistle last game. The way I see it, a clean game favours the Habs. A dirty game favours the Habs. They just have to do their thing.

    1. And if you're wondering, yeah I'm still up at 1:44am here despite planning on being up at 8am for the game because I'm TOO JACKED UP! I'm already thinking of breaking open the giant bottle of rum I got at Costco and pulling an all nighter. I won't because I'm a responsible adult, in that I'm old and could never do it. Maybe I'll take some sleeping pills I save for long haul flights instead.
