Just as when Gallagher stated during an intermission, the ref told him he wouldn't get calls in his favour, this would die down and we will not hear anything more about it, but the 'brotherhood' will stick together in full force. Too bad there can never be justice esp with Colon in charge.
They're gonna need a big shovel.......
I'm really torn on Prust's comments. I wish he would have just kept it in the organization and let MB talk to the league (after gathering evidence), but I'm sure that's been done by several teams and nothing is ever done. So I'm sort of glad he said something because it forces the league's hand a bit. But, now Prust and by extension the team, is marked. Him, probably the rest of his career. It's not going to happen next game, but he will always be a marked man by the brotherhood of the stripes from now on. The NHL is so fucked up. A player is marked a diver because he's marked a diver. He has a reputation for diving because he has a reputation for diving. Officials openly play favourites, but if you say anything it just gets worse so you have to just take it. And how do they choose who they like and who they don't like? It has nothing to do with behaviour on the ice. The bruins have some of the worst divers and cheapshot artists but are always given the benefit of the doubt. Gallagher might be a trouble maker of sorts, but he's never lippy or disrespectful, always has a smile. But he's been marked and will have that follow him for the rest of his career (because, as I said above, he has a reputation so it's fine to call him on that reputation which will only solidify his reputation). But whatever, I'm really sick of this drama. They didn't lose because of the refs (and that's not what Prust was saying, despite how it's being played int he media). They lost because they can't score. No one besides Gallagher, and sometimes Weise, will go anywhere near the net. They can't score because their coach refuses to change the PP set up. They can't score because they've got a bunch of guys who get you there, but can't get you through it. I have no doubt that Price is going to play really well next game. But that just isn't enough anymore. You can't win 16 games in the playoffs 1-0, protecting that lead for 45 minutes a night.
"The talking heads on Sportsnet who are the rights holders for the NHL went directly and forcefully into spin mode on national television pointing their swords at Prust for telling the hockey world how Prust had earned himself a hearing and a fine and that he was most certainly in the wrong. This is not surprising that they supported the league as they are in essence 'bought and sold' in a business partnership with the league. Their opinion is only slightly more their own than it is the league's. That they could so thoroughly not put the noose around the neck of a biased official was a lesson in the power of propaganda as we saw the powerful NHL broadcasting elite spin it hard and then watched the lemmings follow on Twitter and other media outlets. The Score which is another Sportsnet property put a photo of Prust's face with a baby body as an example in a tweet that they hastily removed only moments later. Wow.The 'bought and sold' of Sportsnet suggested that Watson said nothing at all of this cussing nature, that there was no proof, and that Prust was inventing a complex series of lies - like very complex. That Prust was the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle of this mystery writing carefully weaved tapestry and that Watson was merely an innocent bystander getting slandered because an unhappy hockey player lost a game and got two extra minutes for an unsportsmanlike penalty. To Sportsnet, Prust was the Machiavellian genius at hand here working a complex narrative, and my dear Watson was just poor Watson. And this part is what we've been saying about the media all along:"Don't think there isn't pressure from the league or your team when you're a broadcast partner to tell the side of the story strongly that gives your partner the upper hand. I have been on both sides of this as an independent and also as a broadcast partner with both Ottawa and Edmonton. I have gotten 1:30 AM phone calls from Glen Sather that were not pretty. In Ottawa, we used to have a saying when I did the Senators games that "we got Mlackered" meaning President Roy Mlacker was telling us what to say again and how to spin it. I have been told how to present the team in a better light when they're struggling many times. Don't be naïve. You should in truth be looking for an announcer working for the league or a team to be 'bought'. It happens all the time. I venture to say that watching that drama play out last night where an official losing his objectivity completely is not called out on national television but the player is scorned repeatedly is a perfect example of feeling that powerful tug from the powerful in New York City. It likely was not direct, but the pull is always there to sell the product for the league and to not damage the product. An honest assessment of a cussing emotional Brad Watson last night would surely damage the product."there's morehttp://montreal.ctvnews.ca/call-of-the-wilde-the-case-of-the-cursing-ref-1.2357434
There are cobwebs on our game plan.Up along the boards, round and round their net till either a slap shot that may or may not miss or until we loose the puck.It would take our opponent about four seconds to prepare for us.Watching the bolts and the way they move the puck is impressive. But any team could do that. Except us, cause we have a system. An old stale predictable unimaginative system.sighGo Habs
CHarger needs to control his emotions during his press scrum and have a bit more control during the game. Having said that, I have NO problem with him calling out a ref. I wish more players would do it. Fucking prima donna officials need a comeuppance. Sick to see the SFU speak code and fraternity. Put an olive in your collective asses you frat fucks.
Chester nails it! The Habs kill their own power plays by cycling around the back of the net or beside it, then out to the point, back across the blue line, then PFK will switch with whoever is in the point with him and they will try teeing him up for a big shot. When it works it is beautiful...most of the time he misses the net...then there is 35 seconds of the pp left and they will try to set it up again. Pretty easy to defend. And I can't remember how many times I said out loud last night..."they are doing all this passing and there isn't a soul in front of the net" . Starting net minders in the second round of the playoffs tend to stop most shots that they can see. Even the very best (TFS) struggle when they can't see the puck. They have to guess. He guessed on the 1st goal. The bolts moved him around like a good'un on their powerplays and he didn't have a chance on most of them...that is how a powerplay is supposed to work...ah fuck! This post is all over the place - I feel as frustrated as patches. I hope they can figure this shit out. 6-2 in a playoff game is fucking embarrassing for everyone!
Also...I think the tone was set when the little goalie wiped out during the player intros. TFS was classy as usual when he came out and made sure the kid knew that shit happens to everyone. Nice capture there Moeman!
TFS™ should('ve) been nominated for the Byng. There is no classier player in the entire league.
The Habs game is nothing but low down along the boards. They are wasting gCHuk (and others) with this stupid system. The system requires all five players to cycle low, down, along the boards which results in nobody in front of the net.
In all seriousness, get well to the muCH-maligned DDD.
Hands up dont call a penalty if your a Montreal CANADIEN. I am against carding and I am against giving players with the CH a penalty for normal activity, or for not giving a penalty when someone takes a chainsaw to your knees. In the cold cool lite of superiour vision I see a team that has not been beat like a rented mule. In fact we should be up 2 to zero if if if okay if the other team had not springboarded upon buttman calls. We can give up or face facts. Other teams are going to get the calls, other teams are going to get a cell link to buttman when the game is on the line. We can quit the leauge or we can put this upon our shoulders and win. Its nothing new. The NHL changed the powerplay to fuck Montreal, the NHL suspended Maurice Richard to get an outcome desired. To day every suit hates Montreal because they speak French, and its an extra tick box on the menu. The saddest part about this team is we have no leader who feels Elan in the bones. Sure MT, DDD and Pappy have the feeling but they are a french firing squad of execution. ( a cirlce around the defendant) I like to win but you can not have a Club du Montreal without French culture. That would make us the Lighting, Carolina or any other team with zero heritage that chanced the cup. People can learn culture, so I do not understand how the Montreal Canadiens do not know how to score. I am not French so I may be misinformed, but a chocula like shell is not joy d vie.
fried man ain't happy;http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/prusts-gripe-was-better-off-done-in-private/Here's an idea fat boy, SHUT THE FUCK UP!
When Tie Domi called out Brad Watson during the Sens / Leafs )2003 or 04) series and the Leafs were saying Brad Watson & the refs had it out for them I wonder if this hack was defending Watson then?Domi: 'Watson doesn't have to come out and answer questions about his mistake. He doesn't have to come out here and be accountable, if we don't come out and talk to you guys we get fined but he doesn't have to come out and answer for his bullshit" I guess only if it's the Habs right?
According to the SFU there is 'the integrity of the officials'. Morons.
They must have googled how to spell the word.
Why are gino ragu and button laughing at what Prust 'will be dealt next year'? Are these professionals?
I am not entirely happy with Charger. I think he stepped away from class somewhat. However he is the perfect player for his position. Can play hockey, can make it real when needed. He is invaluable in the big scheme of things
So no fine or suspension for CHarger in regards to the vile ref. Interesting. What say you, ref fraternity?
Kerry's article is interesting. You can already see the wagons circling, and the tighter they get the more you know they have to hide. This is very telling:"Once those allegations from Prust became public, the NHL was not only forced to conduct a formal investigation but to make their findings public to some degree as well. The league will make their best effort at 'damage control' but nobody wins in this situation."If you think it's a bad thing for an investigation to be public, then you belong in 1930s Soviet Russia. It's incredibly telling that the problem for Kerry (and the league) isn't a power tripping, corrupt ref; it's the fact that this power tripping corrupt ref has been made public and now he needs to be dealt with. If anyone thinks the NHL isn't fucked after reading Kerry's article, they're idiots. It all just reminds me of the "don't snitch" crap in the ghettos. Drive by shooting a school playground? Sure! But if you dare talk to the cops, you're the dirty rat, the piece of crap! Do any of us really think Montreal, and other teams, haven't tried to deal with the messed up officiating privately in the past? Literally nothing is ever done. Kerry says Auger was cleared of any wrong doing (which is not quite true: you can't prove a negative, you can't prove someone never said something. That's why in real courts you're found "not guilty", meaning the crown hasn't provided enough proof...don't we have a lawyer on here?). Yet Auger mysteriously decided to take early retirement shortly afterwards. They took the names of the refs jerseys players would have a harder time tracking which ones targeted them. They know there's a problem, but their response has been to hide it more instead of dealing with it. But don't worry folks! Colin Campbell is on the case. What's that? He has concluded his investigation. His results are: The Boston Bruins are the 2015 Stanley Cup Champions, and his son has won the Hart Trophy. Huh, wasn't expecting that. Again.
*They took the names of the refs off the jerseys so the players would have a harder time tracking which ones targeted them.
In other news, this series is starting to feel like 2013 all over again. No offence, players losing their cool, Price giving up on the team. I hope they turn it around in game 3, but they need to focus on the game and their top 6 need to go to the fucking net. If they thought the officials were against them before, get ready for some real bullshit (maybe not next game, even NHL refs aren't usually that stupid. But soon).
I just saw that pic the Score made of Prust and a baby. I don't think you could be any more unprofessional than that. Could you imagine them doing that to Crosby, or one of their beloved leaf? That's some crazy shit. But like I said, I just want to focus on the game. The guys need to do the same. Fuck the world.
That light at the end of the tunnel, no its not a train, its the light on DDD's trycycle peddling to the rescue. Oh the humanity when DDD is going to give the team a boost from his booster seat.
I read a comment that Yzerman was in a hallway at the Bell Centre speaking to the head official during the game, did anyone hear anything?
You go Prust.Let the NHL investigate.Let them make it public.Let them fine or suspend you.Fuck them. I have never seen a ref do what that asshat did.Follow a player to the box, then a pointy fingered lecture from a fucking zebra??Who the fuck are you?Go fuck yourself. Seriously go fuck your self.Go Habs
Thirteen of New York's last 14 postseason contests have been one-goal affairs.Rangers: 10 consecutive playoff games decided by 1 goal dating back to last season (longest streak in NHL history)So SFU annointed team are an offensive powerhouse, but the Canadiens are the only team that can't score.

Too little too late. The Habs will never get a break the rest of this playoffs. The refs ARE biased now even though they are not supposed to be.
This won't please the SFU.
Besides the great (and truthful) article written by Brian Wilde about "Prustgate" here is another statement that says it all by Mr. Curtis over at HI/O:'Hate to beat a dead horse but we whine about bland athletes and then they offer some truth and we whine about "class" & "codes" 'That would be the SFU's doing the whining.
The snet SFU panel all sided with the ref. Three ex-players and a fried man. Toast meet biased butter.
Fraser tries to back-track today but fails miserably, still calling Prust a liar and Watson could NEVER say wihat CHarger 'alleged'."When Referee Watson elevated his emotions and engaged Prust with the lecture that we all witnessed, it should have pretty much prevented an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty from being assessed to the player. Once a referee takes the initiative to place himself in the face of a player or a coach, it needs to be done in a peacekeeping role or to convey information or direction that is presented in such a way as not to further escalate the situation. Given Watson's NHL officiating experience, he should have have managed this situation much differently. I also believe Brad Watson would be the first to agree that he should have handled this situation and himself differently. That being as it may, I still do not believe that Watson said the unspeakable things that Prust accused the referee of saying. It is likely that some profanity was interspersed with the lecture delivered by the ref. While that's not appropriate, I am certain it will be proven by testimony obtained from neutral observers that the comments and personal attack alleged by Prust are inaccurate."So how does CHarger get back his 'unsportsman' penalty back?
Paging Marc Bergevin.....paging Marc Bergevin.... Please pass this on to your coach ASAP...
Oooops.... screwed that up.http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/hiring-of-shero-as-gm-signals-major-change-for-devils/article24257524/
moe was right about snet when they sold their souls to the devil (Bettman), that their coverage of hockey would be amateurish and putrid. I thought Strombo would be their saving grace but he has been told to "toe the line" or face expulsion from his new gig I am sure. All you have are all the Hab hating hnic leafools with kypridiot thrown in the mix. Unfortunately, our man CHarger has played into their hands and given them lots of ammo to lob at the Habs to their delight. I refuse to listen to or watch even one second of their bile being spewed in our (Habs fans) direction and you know that's where they are sending it. There no leaf fans watching so why dwell on it? Fuck them.
As a history major I take in the big picture. The orginal NHL has six teams and four owners. Despite that fact Montreal dominated. Why, because they had ever pure wool exculusive. So the fact is when it was Pure Wool vs the world Montreal dominated. This system ended in 1971 and we only got the flower from some higher power.Today it is all about the viewing audience. Most Americans could not find Montreal on a map, they can find Toronto because they have and NBA and MLB team. The last thing the NHL wants in the playoffs is a city with seperatation from the big three. So if we could get an NFL team we would win the cup, because NFL trumps those other two thing some people call passtimes.
How fucked are we?Like barbie left all night in an easy bake oventhe kid wanted to eat her warm but shegot hot and melted
Charger got hit with $5K fine.
Carey Price was named a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award on Tuesday, which is presented annually to the "most outstanding player" in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the National Hockey League Players' Association.
I see Buttman's Colon fined CHarger 5K after all. What a fucking joke. I still got Habs in 7. And I want it more so that I can watch the SFU choke on all the TB cocks they've stuffed into their gaping maws than anything! Moving onto the semis would just be gravy.
NEW YORK -- Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust has been fined $5,000 for derogatory public comments directed toward Referee Brad Watson during his post-game media availability on Sunday, May 3, the National Hockey League announced today."Brandon Prust's post-game comments were both baseless and demeaning of a referee whose 20-year career in the League has been marked by professionalism, integrity and a high degree of respect from players, coaches and management," said NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell.
Hey Watson, you baseless fuck, take your demeaning dick out of colon's mealy mouth.
I read that statement a few times and I am incredulous! Charger apologised for what he said, but he never said that what he said wasn't true. He said he should have kept it to himself to respect "the code". For the NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations to issue an official statement calling the comments "baseless" is 100% wrong. Demeaning - maybe - but baseless implies that they were not spoken. We know that they were. Also, Watson's 20 year career might have been marked by professionalism and integrity (which is now very much debatable) but the "high degree of respect" element of that statement is subjective and clearly not at all what others think. Does this statement by Campbell mean that there is now nothing more to say about the actions of Paul Watson? Will we hear no more about it? Or is there still to be some sort of announcement? The whole thing has been handled appallingly by the NHL. Charger should have kept his mouth shut - that';s on him - but the rest is a conmplete farce.
In lighter and much happier news, getting back to the Avengers theme for a bit. I was in the line at the drugstore scanning the magazines and noticed Cobie Smulders on the cover of Women's Health. HOW COULD I NOT NOTICE They're finally getting around to making a Wonder Woman movie and it's a shame she wasn't cast as the title character.
Cobie is smokin' hot. I always was a sucker for a brunette. Pretty sure she's Canadian as well.Just checked, yup.
NHL, refs, SFU can all go fuck themselves.
Prust broke the code. Do we need a fucking COde, its like Carding. The code must die for us to win.
So we have;timfuckingpeelcrisfuckingleeand nowbradmotherfuckerwatsonBunch of fucking assholes.
Hab haters all.
Can I say one for a minute one thing non hockey. If the NDP win Alberta regardless of your commie thoughts Canada wins a gold medal that is mostly plastic hair anodized in gold,
We lost game three in U2, I am going to bed cause all this intra univesere traffic gives me a special white tuplip headache. There are one of three places in this universese you will read something like that. Not that it was anything special in content, just in orrigin.
I wish the whole Prust thing never happened because there is no winning there. Everyone knows the officials are corrupt, but speaking out against them is just going to make things worse. There was absolutely no investigation yet Big Daddy Campbell says the accusations were baseless. Was there ever going to be another verdict? This is a league where the second in charge has been proven in a court of law to have a conflict of interest and abuses his power for personal/family gain. You think Prust or anyone other player telling the media first hand how the officials abuse their powers is going to change anything? The very fact that Watson went back to the box and yelled at Prust while putting his finger in his face is over the line, and that was clearly on the video. What he said can only make it worse, it can't take that unprofessional reaction away. Yet we're told that nothing bad happened and the media thanks their master and asks for another. Do you honestly think the NBA, NFL or MLB could get away with this? The American media would have a field day with it. There would be articles for weeks, maybe even congressional hearings. This is the biggest reason why hockey will never be successful in the USA. You think the average American sports fan cares about "the code" or the old boys network, or Don Cherry's "rules"? I've watched hockey with Americans (and Brits and Koreans and others) and the response is always the same: "It looks fun, but I can't understand the rules". When I try to clarify by saying it depends on the player who does it, the player it happens to, the time in the game, the time of year, the importance of the game, etc., etc., etc., they always just more confused and turned off. BUT, I'm glad it's done now, although we all know it's never going to done. Prust will be a marked man for the rest of his career (as is Burrows). This series is a mess and the Habs have to get back on track tomorrow. Play a simple, disciplined game. And fucking score.
If I was Prust I would have told Colon to go fuck himself and make it $10k. But that's just me. CHarger would probably like to play for a few more years so he had to acquiesce to the corrupt league officials.

Let's get back on track. I found this article yesterday - Great read - Here's a snippet...This year, Price led the Canadiens to the second-most points in the league, after the New York Rangers. He rescued them from the first round of the playoffs, shutting out the Ottawa Senators in Game 6. Now, he has a bigger task, and no matter how outstanding he is, he may not be good enough. He must make his teammates better....Price has done this all season. Now he needs his teammates to be better enough the next game so that he needs only to make the great saves, not the impossible ones. Then he needs to continue to make these saves, and to make them the same way. He needs to give his teammates back their strut. To make them forget about him, and believe. To make illusion real. Now read this very excellent article by Ken Dryden!! http://www.wsj.com/articles/carey-price-cant-save-the-canadiens-alone-1430841614
