  3. I went into my lunchtime local in London earlier and they were playing BB King. That man was a class act. I remember seeing him in the early 80's (when I sadly lived in Toronto) it was the Nag's Head North if I recall...and he was awesome - played all night - no opening act - just BB King and his band all night long. Amazing!

Moeman, that you have the energy to continue with SF's all summer long is a tribute to you as a human being. Either that or it justifies your need to search for soft porn on the web...you'd have to ask a lawyer about that!...either way - thank you for all you do to keep us entertained. As always...Nice ones all 'round!

  5. Nice work moe, as always. RIP BB King.

Today (the 15th) was a year since the game 7 win over the broons. I remember because it's teacher's day here and I had lots of visits and gifts today again. I remember watching the final seconds as my class sang Our House wholeheartedly as we celebrated. I took the afternoon off and walked around in the glorious sunshine before catching the first showing of Godzilla at the local theatre and getting Mexican for dinner afterwards. What a day.

It was smoggy and rainy here today. Work was a bitch. Mad Max is out here, but it was sold out. I got Mexican for dinner, but forgot my phone there and had to walk the 20 minutes back to get it. My favourite drag queen was eliminated from RuPual's Drag Race this week (that's right, I love drag queens, deal with it).

    *heavy sigh*

But really, if you want to see Atlantic City cougars conjoined at the vagina, a Communist Hello Kitty or a puppet toddler in tiara name Lil' Poundcake flip off her not real daddy, RPDR is where it's at. You're not going to see this craziness anywhere else on TV. Or the world for that matter.

  6. DGMB's presser. Said he already told M&M, CHar and dreamweaver that they won't be back next year. OH BOY, he got really pissed at 2 questions a) Did you consider talking to Babcock now that he's available? another b) Do you think MT2.0 is the coach who can take the team to the next level? OUCH!

He praised MT and said cited the teams standing over the last couple seasons and he is very disappointed that that question is on anyone's lips. To the first reporter he asked where he heard such a thing? are you asking that on behalf of someone? and definitely something about the reporter's job but I didn't catch it.

As for gCHyuk, he's MT's decision and MT's goal is to win games and mentioned that he was moved to the wing while he was in juniors, maybe they saw something that MT is seeing, so far he hasn't showed he can be a top centre and maybe he will never be a centre, we don't know.

    Signing DiSH is a priority.

    1. We saw the distance the coaching will get this team in game 6 a few days ago. Eventually, MB will realize this and Babs will be gone. I'm not a coach, I'm not an expert. But I've always said, in sports (and life) you can't plan success. You just take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves.

I could come up with a great social networking site tomorrow. Too late, facebook is a thing already. And MB could realize the team needs a new "system" in 2017. Too late, Babcock is in Buffalo. And Price is exhausted and PK frustrated and gCHuck hasn't played center yet and N8 is still playing 8 minutes a game.

But, like I said, I'm not an expert. If deceptively good seasons and early playoff exits are the priority then we should just rename the team the St Louis Sharks.

    1. I have not bitten my tongue. I am in full tongue wagging mode, actually. But I've also accepted that MT will be back behind the bench, which means MB believes in his system and will continue allowing the talent on this team to be run down. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Lego gone this summer, most likely for more "character", aka 4th line, guys.

I liked DLR, but did this team honestly need another bottom six grinder? Sure, develop him, but maybe there were more skilled players in the pipeline that needed to be developed first?

Anyway, it's all academic now. We have no control over it and apparently MB has a blind spot. He showed his hand when he shipped out cakeS for another 4th line grinder. Not because Jiri was the saviour or anything, but it showed that even the GM, the guy who was supposed to know what he was doing, proved that he believed in the "system". You know what the system is? The system is a team with Toker. Nothing against him, but he's pretty average. And the team is average when he's in net. Price is the difference. And it's so frustrating that the guy in charge, the GM, doesn't recognize that apparently.

Just getting out frustrations. It'll be the same next year and I'll still watch and cheer. We'll see what happens. Babcock won't win the Cup for the team alone, but how much more prime years of the superstars do we have to waste before MB opens his eyes? I'll state it here, and I hope I'm wrong, Montreal won't win the Cup with MT as coach. That system, his preference of players, can't win the Cup. That's not how it works in 2015.

  8. First I am sorry I cant always look at the bright side of the road to the cup.
Overall is was a very good season so we should be more than grateful. Clearly Montreal is in the fast lane of the Hockey autobahn. We are driving a very fast well equipped Volkswagen with stopping power better than any other wheels currently in contact with the ice. The question is how do we trade up to an Audi or similarly specifically engineered masterpiece that can break on through any speed trap a Chocula like Klingon can record and practise like the Bible is their notebook?

Collectively everyone except Oleg :) has been biting their tongue practically in half trying to be good team players, Now that prohibition is over and its time for a end of season rant.

If I see David Dayhardnne at centre next year I am going to lose it. Take any triple AAA peewee team in North Mercia, or Europe put DDD on it and he would still be the smallest player on the ice. I am not an analytics above all advocate but DDD places at number 399 out of 400 players with similar ice time and PP opportunities. Is there some rule that says DDD does not have to take a shot on goal during five on five play?

If Dsip shows up at camp with a body fat index higher than Rob Ford he should be waived faster than PFK's one timer. He aint heavy he is the Fat Smith-Pelly brother of Albert. The only player in the NHL to wear strectcy turkey pants does not belong in Montreal

If the PP looks like it was designed by a dog trainer with a fondness for chasing cars I with have to wear depends to contain my spontaneous urinatination of frustration.

If the only place Lego sees some PP is watching the video post game I am going to smash my prized Lego Death star to pieces while cursing EMpty as part of the dark side of the MAN's humanity.

When ever rush by PFK leaves him as alone as Fat Steve at a Greenpeace 42O celebration I will self medicate with extreme prejudice to prevent myself from going off the rails like freight train riding the rickety rails maintained by the dictates of the stock market.

If I see gCHuck forced to play the game like a Bishop or a Knight instead of the Queen on a board with weak pawns, I am going to seriously damaged some game icons.

My favourite part of MB's presser was when he said he made a trade last night on his Playstation, tried to make the same deal in real life and the other GM hung up on him. One thing about Marc, he has a great sense of humour. He basically told it like it is, the players we would all like to get are unavailable. You have to develop within. Realistically, in today's NHL, you have about a three to five year window to win a title. I figure the Habs are in Year 2 right now.

That all being said, like Steve said, if DDD is still getting 1st line duties and top PP minutes next season, I may have to boycott.

  11. Monday night, Letterman will host Hanks and feature a solo performance by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. Tuesday, Murray, who was Letterman’s first guest when he launched Late Night on NBC in 1982, will make his 21st appearance on the Late Show. Then, none other than Bob Dylan will perform on the show for the first time since November 1993, the first year Letterman debuted on CBS.

Tonight, Friday, May 15 will see the return of Oprah Winfrey and a chat with Letterman’s old friend Norm Macdonald. No guests have been announced by Letterman’s final show next Wednesday. Either he’s got some big surprises planned (Stephen Colbert?) or, as Johnny Carson did on his final show, it will consist mainly of memories and clips.

So, both playoff games this long, warm, sunny weekend are afternoon starts, as dictated by buttman and comcast. This should really help snet's hockey ratings. Amusing.
