  1. my fearless prediction. not only will the player the leaf get be the second best player in the draft, it will be the one they would have taken at number one anyway. That player immediately becomes the best player not playing in the NHL.

  4. COOL look at past drafts. Not much at 26, but some great picks in the second round. It just shows how hard it is to draft an impact player.

«J’ai grandi avec le frère de Brendan Gallagher, Nolan. Nous avons été à l’école ensemble. J’ai suivi la saison des Canadiens et leur parcours en séries, a-t-il raconté lors d’un entretien avec la chaîne TVA Sports. Nolan m’a téléphoné.

So, one of the SFU's has now stated (since the leaf now have Nylander and Marner as their new cornerstones) that small players are "in vogue" now in the NHL. Yet, not long ago it was repeated ad nauseum by said SFU's, that Montreal was "too small" and a "bunch of smurfs" and couldn't compete in the NHL. What a bunch of two-faced fuckers. The good news is DDD is now worth something since small players are now in style. I think MB should call Doug Wilson immediately and offer DDD for Joe Thornton straight up.

Bergevin sounds like #Habs will have quiet summer: "We finished second overall with the team we had...I’m comfortable with the team we have”

Montreal has around $5.5 million in cap space with 11 forwards, six defensemen, and two goaltenders under contract. Most of the Canadiens' remaining cap space will likely go towards re-signing restricted free agent Alex Galchenyuk.

General manager Marc Bergevin doesn't plan on putting any of that money towards signing big names in July, in large part because he is satisfied with trade-deadline acquisitions Jeff Petry and Torrey Mitchell, who both recently signed contract extensions.

"Jeff and Torrey, that’s my July 1," Bergevin told reporters. "I'm not going to chase players July 1."

  61. I must have posted this in the last thread by mistake, but I was expecting MB to be quite a bit busier over the draft. The PAP buyout tells me something must be in the works (Sharp?) but who knows. If it's for nothing then it's a really dumb move. I would actually be all for losing some vets to get the young guys some ice time, except we all know the coach will not give the young guys ice time. If PAP's not replaced he'll just double shift DDD.

Not sure MB should be entertaining the idea of acquiring BlackHawks Patrick Sharp. He may have exercised some questionable behaviour regarding teammates wives or girl friends resulting in locker room fisticuffs.

@moe, no I don't but I still have my Yamaha direct drive turntable I bought in 1979 and it works fine. I can run it through a Bose sound system we have.

@Steve, I've been transferring my old vinyl through an Ion digital turntable that converts to mp3's and uses iTunes as the player. The program is E-Z vinyl/tape Mixmaster.

I already own many Zep albums but I was thinking of upgrading to the new stuff because Jimmy Page has remastered a lot of the material. He said a lot was missing on the original recordings after listening to them recently.

      Delete
    4. The Ion system is good. We use it in our labs (also their cassette version) for long, lost interviews. Otherwise .mp3 doesn't do it for us because of compression.

Pop on some headphones for a listen. Lots of very cool production details.

I'm getting the remaster digitally. It may lack some of the vinyl 'feel' but there's a reason why Paige et al are re-producing it so intricately. No compression, high resolution and a great marketing package too.
