  1. Thanks for putting the hot back in summer.

Leafs management payroll now exceeds the salary cap for players, still losers.
We will go to camp with 30 D men and 20 fourth line centers.

    Nice job on the mileage.

    Ya Know ...
    DGMB does D really well.
    But
    I don't think he forwards.
    I understand the D.
I grew up watching The Bird crush people.
But we also had goal scoring type players.
As the Moody Blues go it's all a question of balance.
I think we need to forward a little better
    Really
    K somebody tell MT2.0.
    Go Habs

  10. I have used my editorial powers to update the post with a pic of Splooge and his sexy blonde wife Alena. Though "blonde" may be pushing it, given the visible dark roots.

  13. I could get in more trouble than Hulk Hogan talking about dark roots. For me I do not see the point. If your spongeworthy you are, and if your not, blonde hair is not going to take you there. Ask Ellen who never went there for at least five seaons of spongewothyl.

Personally I like Splooge as a better nickname than Cum, but that is reserved for that bald prick who thinks he knows it all.

How about Sperm? Jizz? White Goo? DNA?

Jeez, with all these Russians playing in Montreal how could Malkin ever refuse a trade there?

These recent moves by MB may be for naught. I don't think MT has the knowledge or skill, perhaps, to have the right players on the ice at the right times. Scotty Bowman was a master at that. Steve Shutt said Bowman didn't need analytics dweebs to tell him who was a puck possession beast, he had all that stored in his head. Fuck those fancy stats.

  18. Alexander DJ Jizzy Jay? Another washed up has been. But he comes cheap. Unfortunately, that means another kid isn't going to get a shot this year. Meanwhile Weisse will be on the first line and Jizzy will be getting 5 minutes a night on the 4th. I'd rather they kept the money for a possible trade deadline pick up.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't know if anyone's watching the Pan Am Games, but Canada has some kids with a bright future. Andre De Grasse just pulled off the 100m 200m double, breaking the Canadian record in the 200 (his time was just behind the top 3 from the 2012 Olympics). He's only been doing this for 3 years and this is his first international competition. Damien Warner broke the Canadian record in the decathlon, second highest this year (he was 5th at the last Olympics).

Canada also has several other world class athletes, some in the top 3 or 4 in the world. Finally, we might see the Maple Leaf in some of those finals at the Olympics in track and field next year.

Now that I've sobered up, this Semin signing isn't a bad thing, unless you are la jeune Nikita or Hudon hoping to escape St. John's NFLD. Hey, it's not that bad, I've heard George Street is a happening place, a bar mecca with tons of students from Memorial University. Getting back to Jizzy, being a Russian you know he would have great skating ability and foot speed unlike PAP. I'm sure General Vodkov will lay down the law to him as well regarding playing hard both ways. The only thing at stake is a cool million of Geoff's dough, pfff...what's that, one night of beer drinking at the Bell?

As for the AHLers trying to get off the Rock, make DDD your replacement target.

  22. Hey all, happy belated SF. Spent yesterday at the garage and then the golf course, so can't complain.

You know I just watched a full episode of Sportscentre this morning and not even a mention of the Semin signing, then i noticed it in the runner along the bottom of the screen.

My first thought for a nickname was Jizz or Jizzy. Also thinking Wetspot might be more accurate.

    I vote for Wetspot.

Either way, it is a low risk deal that I like. I'm not worried about Hudon or l'homme Nikita - they're still very young and I don't mind them spending a season (at least starting it) on the rock. There's also this Carr kid I know little about. There will be injury callups and the future is bright, and perhaps MB isn't done tinkering with the roster just yet.

Also, too bad Buttman can't fasttrack the nodicks to have them start playing this year. They could have MT with nothing expected in return.

  23. Happy midsummer SF everyone! Nice ones all 'round Moeman. Let's call him Jizz and see what happens. at 1.1m for a year it's a pretty good deal...if he produces. If he doesn't cut him loose - no big deal. He has the potential and has a great shot so maybe if he decides that Montreal is a better place to play hockey in than Carolina, he'll decide to wake up and play for a contract.

  25. I have a couple of wayward cousins that turned out leaf fans? Not sure why. Anyway, they've been chest pumping about all the off-ice hires lately. Thought I'd share with you this gem I just came up with for them:

Hey, I remember the huge celebration HNIC had in 2007 to 'celebrate' the 40th 'anniversary of the leafs' last win. Looks like they've already started hiring the clowns for the big Five-Oh party in 2017.

  27. WTF? Bettman says there is a possibility that if QC gets an expansion, they would be in the Western conference? Is he crazy? (rhetirucal)
One option — which, again, is not optimal, would have Quebec City playing in the West to even out the conferences.

“The answer is that’s something we would obviously have to consider,” Bettman said of putting Quebec City in the Western Conference. “The experience with Winnipeg in the Southeast was less than ideal. The experience over time with Detroit and Columbus in the West — and they’re farther west geographically — they couldn’t wait to get into the East.

  32. Moe! You were in Barrie? That's my stomping grounds! That's the godforsaken city my family moved to many years ago from Montreal. In fact, I'll be back there next week for a visit. Of course when I lived there there were only 60,000 people and cornfields behind our house where we played hide and seek until the farmers came out and chased us away. Now it's all mini mansions and Walmarts. I worked in the Molson Center there in my teenage years, we had some great Colts teams back then (the late 90s). Of course I moved back to Montreal as soon as I was legal. But the place has its charms, lots of memories. They've redeveloped it, but Centennial Beach is where I lost my boyhood (it was late at night, I snuck out to meet the girl). It was less From Here to Eternity and more Awkwardness and Sand to Eternity.

Oh, I'm so homesick. 6 more sleeps!
