    1. R.I.P. Been listening about it on the Radio. Funny part, Ferraro was saying how he was coming up short for a couple games and Arbour told him 'if you don't pick it up for the next couple games, you'll be sitting with Jane? (Mrs Arbour)" Ferraro said ' and she's been sitting there for 22 years'.

  6. Fucking hacks on Toronto Sports Network once again left the door wide open for their trolls with the headline "Solidarity fund keen in financing Nordiques return"
The ever-stupid and ignorant leaf fans think it is the same as the "Solidarity Tax Credit". Some say they were re-assessed and now have to refund the government and how corrupt it is that the government is using the taxpayers to fund a separatist's hockey team.
Bunch of fucking emeciles. Tried to post that it is a pension fund manager and separate entity from the government and is not different the the Ontario Teachers Pension investing in msle, but of course they wont publish it.
One idiot says none of her francophone friends (probably doesn't even have any) were re-assessed and he's the 4th 'anglophone' to get a notice.
    Fucking leaffools.

    1. I have no skin in their game but tsn;s and sn's comment sections are truly disgusting. Sick fucking idiots, fake Habs fans and some of the most debased shit on the web. These people also own the leaf and will allow the most vile comments about the Canadiens and Habs fans. It will get worse before it gets better and it'll never get better. I could care less what others think about that city but there is a sick toronto-first and only mentality. No wonder the ROC hates that fucking hog hole.

At the risk of sounding dumb, what/who is ROC?

      Delete
    3. the Maritimer8:12 AM

      ROC = Rest Of Canada.

I heartily concur with moe's assessment of those websites, although I do read Eric Engles columns at snet. I never read any of the comments on stories by leaf fanboy hacks and the leafools who write them. Don't give them the attention they crave.

Oh yeah, fuck the Blow Jays, I could care less about them and mlb.

  9. Don't know if anyone follows athletics here, but Canada just had their most successful World Championships ever with 8 medals and 2 golds (previous was 5 medals 2 years ago and 2 golds with Donovan Bailey back in the day).

-Shawn Barber got gold in pole vault, the first time Canada won gold in an event that didn't have "100m" in its title (men's 100m and women's 100m hurdles in the past).

-Derek Drouin, who won bronze at the 2012 Olympics, won gold last night in a dramatic jump off with two other guys.

-Melissa Bishop snagged a surprise silver barely being outleaned at the finish line. She's pretty gorgeous, too. Not to diminish her accomplishments.

-Brianne Theisen-Eaton defended her silver in heptathlon. Also very gorgeous in addition to her sporting prowess.

-Damien Warner beat his Canadian record in the decathlon, coming in second behind a new world record and moved up from his bronze in the last Championships.

-Andre De Grasse, Canada's new phenom in the 100m got the bronze in the individual race and contributed to the relay team also getting bronze after those evil Americans were DQ'd (karma's a bitch, eh guys?). This was his first full season and he's only 20 years old. The guy's going to be a superstar next year at the Olympics.

-Benjamin Thorne won a surprise bronze in the 20km race walk in Canadian record time.

-Christabel Netty finished in 4th in long jump after three other women smashed their personal bests by 20-40cm (don't be surprised to hear about doping DQ's is what I'm saying).

Lots of talent to look forward to at the Olympics next year in Rio. It's been so long since we've had a competent track/field team and really the first time we've had great athletes in so many disciplines, especially outside the 100m.

  10. I like baseball. In October. Nothing better than a playoff pitchers duel.

I say this because the toronto-based SFU are sucking the life out of a game which has many teams, some better than the recently stacked jays. Good for the jays, to be stacked, by a Montreal guy. Fuck anyone that can stand the toronto-based SFU.

Bonus, its keeping their putrid leaf off the(ir) tranna radar.

So, here I am, suggesting and hoping their 'to be 'awed'' jays either not make the playoffs or make the wild card game and lose and better yet get bounced, early.

Brief reminder, although a fait-accompli by the MLB slugs at the time, the jays stood behind and voted to kill the Montreal Expos, a team that was truly beloved across our beautiful country.

I used to love baseball. A couple of pitching duels come to mind... Woody Fryman vs. Nolan Ryan, Jeff Juden vs. Roger Clemens on a Canada Day in Toronto, El Presidente's perfect game, Pedro Martinez, the Expos had outstanding pitchers. I recall the summer nights watching games on a Wednesday night on Radio-Canada. A pox on bud selig, jeffrey loria and jerry reinsdorf who collaberated to kill the Expos and fuck the toronto blow jays and labatt breweries who cut their throats as well to get all the Canadian radio and tv money.

Even if the Expos return it will be a long time before I get on board.

  12. @O'man reading your Track and Filed comment and I followed the World Championships carefully. What a performance!

Watching the US get DQ'ed in the 4x100 was the highlight of my summer.

Melissa Bishop is from my sister-in law's small Ontario hometown (Eganville). Everyone there is freaking out I'm told. She's supposed to be a delightful woman. My sister-in-law knows her family of course. Small towns!

There goes the financial backing from the Union's pension fund manager.

NFL fantasy football is right around the corner, I better start doing my homework. Moe's Steelers look pretty good, Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are top draft targets. My New York Giants not so much although Odell Beckham Jr. is intriguing as a 2nd wide receiver. Hockey starts soon?

My ma mere taught me how to make the jelly, boil the berries for a bit, take the juice (squeeze it out in a cheese cloth sack) then add 3/4 cup of sugar to every 1 cup of juice and hard boil it down to the jelly stage. Takes about 20 minutes to to this. No seeds and the taste is unbelievable.

  20. Brady's suspension overturned. Proper thing. We think we have it bad with Bettman. Goodell is a total fuckup - makes Gary's ego look like a pingpong ball compared to his basketball sized one. As a Pats fan, not saying there wasn't some fishy stuff went on (it is Boston), but the NFL (ie Goodell) mishandled the hell out of it. All teams have practically admitted to in/de flating balls to match the quarterback's needs. Hey NFL - take care of your own equipment FFS and this would never be an issue. I believe they're on it.

Now Fantasy Football. I have the fourth overall pick. Even though he's missing the first two games, I think I have to take Le'veon Bell if he's available over a Marshawn Lynch or even Jamaal Charles. I have a soft spot since he led me to victory last year. Of course he and the Patriots' LeGarrette Blount were busted for smoking a bit of the left handed cigarettes hence they're missing 2 and 1 games respectively. But I've named my team in their honour:

    Blount-For Whom Le'Bell Rolls

    Oh, and come on hockey!
