  2. "Leo Komarov appeared in court in Finland this morning to address two speeding fines and the circumstances of his reported income at the time they were issued.

Komarov was caught speeding twice in the summer of 2014: the first time he was clocked at 77kp/h in a 50kp/h zone, and the second time he was monitored going 131kp/h in a 100kp/h zone.

The big question was about his income. Traffic fines in Finland are based on your income. While Komarov admitted he was a professional hockey player, he ultimately reported an income of "€0.00" Komarov reportedly claimed it was correct to say his income was zero as players technically aren't paid through the summer.

The prosecutor pointed out that both speeding incidents happened after Komarov signed a four year contract with a US$2.95M AAV in July."

Did he really think he could get away with declaring zero income?

  3. Nice work as always moe!

Montreal was beautiful as usual, but it was stupid hot so I didn't get to do half of what I wanted. My cousin owns a restaurant by the Bell Centre so I hung out there most of my time. Got to see Scherbak there one night. He's big, can't wait to see him on the ice. Just can't wait for the season to start in general. Go Habs Go!

    1. Did you happen to visit the Canadiens HHOF? They're closing it end of August apparently and admittance is free.

    2. No, I didn't go. I was unaware of this information. I was staying right next to the Bell Center, too! On a related note, I have to say I hate the condos and whatnot going up around there. It's really closing in the area and dwarfing what should be the standout building. Very sad, but as my dad told me, "Statues don't pay rent".

  6. Nice ones moe! Good news is my week off has been fantastic weather-wise. Bad news is my vacations are almost without fail usually crappy weather, so my intent was to do landscaping and renos this week. The heat and humidity have slowed my progress immensely, but hey wtf, it's time away from the office. Watched the Price is Right for the first time in ages. Did you know they now have male models...very progressive. Also Drew Carey is very sarcastic. Also binge watched the first season of Killjoys yesterday/night. It's an average sci-fi series. Kind of thing that makes me think it will keep on going while the likes of Firefly was cancelled after one season...

    1. Colorado, LA,..hmm in Vegas...hmm wonder if there's a subliminal bettman message in there somewhere, like, say maybe, forget the 'Avandiques', we're expanding to LV. I get the feeling he and his buddies at BOG are having a private laugh while thanking one of the bidders for the non-refundable$.

Just beware there is always a Snowcrash after every award winning SF.

  14. The Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) has been fined for the national team's actions at the World Hockey Championship in May.

The Russian team was fined 80,000 Swiss francs (approximately $85,000 USD) by the IIHF on Monday for leaving the ice prior to the Canadian national anthem after Canada's 6-1 victory in the gold medal game.

The panel is of the opinion that the occurrences on the ice show that this is not a result of an unfortunate misunderstanding. The Russian players and officials left the ice after a short discussion between the Russian team captain and some Russian officials and the unmistakable head gesture of the captain. It was also noted that the Russian team and management should have been aware of the postgame/victory and closing ceremony procedure because of their vast experience with IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. The open gate was irrelevant.

The NHL has finally woken up to the fact the leaf are irrelevant and will be for some time. They (leaf) provide nothing to any playoff aspects so why involve them?

  25. So another leaf hack on the Toronto Sports Network has put forward the question of who the greatest goalie in the league is. And SURPRISE! it ain't Price. Using the very strict and narrow stats that Yost chooses to use and stretching out the sample enough to water down Price's numbers, he determines that TFS is simply unreliable. Funny how you get the conclusion you want when you manipulate the data so thoroughly.

It doesn't even matter, really, except for the fact that the article was only written in order to discredit Carey and the Habs. Ask any GM what goalie he'd choose to start next season and see what the consensus is. Do these guys just sit around and think of ways to either: a) pump up their terrible leaf or; b) dump on the Habs. There's 30 teams, lots to talk about if you aren't short sighted.

    1. This is their SFUel for the leafools, who repeat it ad nauseum all over the web. These sick fucks are so envious and jealous of the Habs that has become its own self-fulfilling joke. GMs and players alike have voted TFS™ to be the best at his position and in the pro game. Scumbags like yost get paid to be stupid. No wonder the leafools love pinheads like him and his SFU ilk.
