  2. Just finished reading last night's comments...O'man was hilarious....I have also watched the walking dead since the beginning. Rick and Hershel et all vs the Governor and his assholes is similar to Habs vs BrOOns

  4. Feels weird not to make Thanksgiving dinner for the family, so I decided to make myself glazed pork tenderloin with carrots and garlic mashed on the side.

HAHA ratface suffered a concussion, according to Julien from an elbow from CHip. The only clip I saw, CHip was maneuvering to take the puck along the boards and ratface approached from behind as his arm went up, looked accidental to me. I remember the play went on as ratface tried to sell it (I thought, guess the refs did too since no whistle). Karma you little fuck. Looks like MitCH may face DOPS for slew-footing that other ass rinaldo.

Speaking of Rinaldo, the reason Quintal was in Boston last night is because he said they are taking head shots 'seriously' (can you say lawsuit?) and DOPS is being pro-active and will be going to different arenas. Yesterday he had a 40 min video session with Rinaldo showing him some of his hits and checks and explaining which are unacceptable and some they fall into the 'grey area'.

  6. Thanksgiving doesn't happen in the UK but we're going to have a lovely selection of Chicken Kievs and loads of veg with some Chiant to wash it all down. I have found a pretty decent feed being offered by some guy on You Tube - apparently screening all the Habs games in French this season, so I will stick with them as long as the feed is good, which it has been so far. Condom goes tonight against the Sens, which should be a pretty interesting game based on the pre-season. stick to the plan boys and don't make Neil look like he actually belongs in the NHL.

  7. What a great day...but anybody know a good divorce lawyer. After watching football all day, mixed in with Presidents Cup golf, followed by hockey soon and then the Walking Dead, I may be in need of one. I'll need to be super busy getting stuff done tomorrow, though we have our meal tomorrow too.

I read last night's thread. Moe you say you "don't do zombies". TWD is so much more than zombies (though there are a hell of a lot of zombies). But the character development over the years has been outstanding, even if the show maybe wavered a bit in the middle year. Anyway, super stoked about it.

Bad day for my fantasy football. I'm off to a bad start - mentioned to a couple of guys on Thursday i was thinking of putting my star running back on the trade block to mix things up because i have a feeling he isn't going to last. Turned down a couple of decent offers for him. Today sounds like Jamaal Charles tore his ACL. Gotta pull the trigger on the big trades when the gut says to do it. Damn.

Patriots are crushing the 'boys, even thought Brady's been sacked 5 times. love it. The M - can't see the Gmen having any trouble against the 49ers.

We've been calling Condon Condom. I vote for Rubber instead. A bit more...I forget the word i wanted here but you guys are smart enough to know what i mean.

Not watCHing this game, the family left not long ago and I was too busy cleaning up. Sounds like the boys are doing OK, GYFHG!!

moe, re: TWD, I was skeptical as well at first as I'm not a "walker" fan (they don't use the word zombie) but it has been an excellent show. Well, like Saint Paddy said, season 3 with the Governor got a bit dull at the end of it. The first season, only 6 episodes, was the best. It's worth the time.

Giants should win tonight, San Fran..... not that good.

Almost forgot, I was thinking, the SFU can only wish their putrid leaf could have a rivalry as intense as Habs/Bruins. They can make up all the shit they want about the "battle of Ontario" or their imaginary leaf/Habs competition, but they got nuthin'. Jealous fucks.

  61. Yay!

Had class this morning so couldn't watch the game live, but just watched on my long break. Thoughts:

    1) Habs dominated the Sens, like men vs boys style. Went unnoticed by SN, of course.

    2) Speaking of which, I'm currently doing my Masters in Applied Linguistics (and teaching) and one of the papers I'm working on is taking an example of real life dialogue and analyzing it using various methods to determine meaning, etc.. I thought about taking SN announced hockey game to analyze the language they use to insult the Habs and build up their leaf, but I thought that might be boring for non-hockey/sports fans. My prof is actually from the Toronto area, but she doesn't care about hockey. The head of the department is from Toronto and is a leaf fan. We don't speak.

And yes, this is a British school in China and there are still tons of Canadians. We're everywhere. If only we could vote...THANKS HARPER!

    3) The PP is so frustratingly bad. SHOOT THE MF-ING PUCK! It's not rocket surgery! On even strength too, the guys look like they're desperate to do anything but actually shoot. When they do shoot it's only after they take enough time to consider all other options, no matter how ill advised, so half the time they shoot it into a defender or 10 feet off the net. JUST SHOOT IT! This was even more obvious today because in order to win my hockey pool this week I needed gCHuck, KidG and PatCHes to get lots of shots, so I was paying particular attention.

    4) Condom looked good. Sorry, I had no faith in Toker last year. Hopefully Condom will be solid (no one's expecting TFS lite over here, just "solid").

    5) GO HABS GO!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Two more things:

    6) The identity of the Sens has quickly turned into whiny divers. Every time there was a close up of one of their ugly mugs it was always whiny to a ref or diving or crying about something. They're also cheap shot artists who start something after every whistle. Stone is a little bitch, especially. Thinks he's hot shit. If he was a Hab, and more importantly, had different colour skin the mediots would be all over him and other 'vets' would be talking about respect. It's interesting that PK never had 'respect' but Stone can bitch, whine, cry, dive, cheap shot, start stuff and run away and run his mouth and everyone still goes on about how wonderful he is. He had a nice run over a few games last year, but he was pretty useless in the playoffs (oh yeah, 'microfracture'...aka 'minor sprain') and didn't really do much tonight besides run his mouth and cheap shot.

    7) Karlsson made two huge mistakes that directly led to Montreal goals (more mistakes, but they didn't lead to goals). No mention of that. If it was PK it'd be played on a loop on all sports channels for the next 48 hours and there'd be a special coach's corner about it on Tuesday.

I know we're used to double standards in hockey announcing when it comes to our Habs, but when it comes to PK it just reminds me how backwards the NHL, and the world of hockey in general, really is. And that gives me a sad.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sorry, just one more thing about Karlsson. It's unbelievable that this trophy is awarded to a defenceman who doesn't defend. He had the 4th highest SH TOI tonight among d-men, and a lot less than the top 3 (less than half). This on a team with pretty much an AHL-caliber defence corps. I don't understand how you can even be considered for the Norris with numbers like that.

Just for reference, PK led all Montreal d-men on the penalty kill. In fact he had exactly double the time SH as Karlsson, even though the Habs had 3 more PPs than the Sens. But remember, PK is too offensive to ever seriously be considered for the Norris again!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I couldn't sleep when I said I was going to last night so watched the 2nd period as well. Then went to bed knowing this game was looking like a Habs win. Seems it was never in doubt. I think overall Les Boys seem to have some good jump and a very good team spirit looks to be prevailing. I really like what I am seeing from Jizz so far. His goals will come and if he can light a fire under Lego in the meantime, then he'll be well worth his 1.1 mil. Condom looked steady and calm in the nets tto. That bodes well - but as several others had mentioned, the Habs won 3 on the hop last year to start the season then got blown away by Tampa. That was the point at which all the mediots went to town with all that corsi bollocks and "the Habs are a doomed possession team, they'll be luck to make the playoffs at this rate..." bullshit - and it didn't get any better for the rest of the season, in spite of them finishing 2nd overall and with over 100 points...So - if they want to avoid that nonesense again this season, the key for them MUST be consistency. If everyone is playing the MT way, then great - it's clearly working - although I do suspect they will be looking at much more formidable opponents in the next ferw games. As we all know - a Win is a Win and the Habs got 3 wins so far! Only 79 more to come! Lastly - Happy Thanksgiving Monday to you all!

    3. They're dreaming of new storylines as their leaf doesn't play until Friday. Yes, I know, 'play' is a very strong word.

      Delete
  66. I know it's only 3 games in, but it seems like the Habs are not sitting back and only starting to play from the 2nd period on or the 3rd like they did last season when they were they were mostly the 'come-back-from-behind' team.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Man did Langdeau ever trash PleXXXe about his comment to Arpon Basu saying PleXXXe should be kissing TFS behind, more or less. Carbonneau defended him saying that it wasn't malicious or meant as a put down to TFS but that atheletes do have pride and egos and when all you hear all the time form all media is that the team is nothing without TFS, you're bound to take it a certain way. He said he remembered when Roy had appendicitis and the media was all over it saying they would never win without him, he went to see Roy at the hospital and told him he was going to face the media and tell him that they are a team not just a goalie - something to that effect. He and (I forget the other one) said it was all taken out of context and also not forget that Price didn't score the goals either.

"Jeff Petry. Wow. I know Curtis Lazar is no speed demon but Petry’s mad dash to catch up to Lazar and push him off the puck after the Ottawa forward blocked a bad Nathan Beaulieu shot was beyond impressive. Unless your name is Greg Millen and you’re standing at ice level between the benches. Millen laughingly suggested that Lazar should have been awarded a penalty shot. Millen also can’t tell the difference between Smith-Pelley and Subban because, well, never mind. Petry wasn’t done. He neatly broke up a two on one shortly after Mitchell made it 3-1."
