This from Paul Maurice about Canadiens:

"There's a slightly different defensive structure to their game in terms of how they track back, how they skate you down," Maurice said. "They don't give you a whole lot off the rush; very, very few odd-man rushes, if any. And they can do it going the other way, they can use that speed for the attack, straight lines and get to the net. A really strong skating hockey team. This is a really good defensive team as well."

Shove that up your blue and white ass Cullen.

  2. I was reading the star this mornng. The story was about the leafs that will stick around for the rebound. Its good to know the Princess Pylon is thriving underbabkook. Dion is back. Look out hocky world.

  3. I think, that before we start reading our reviews with too much seriousness, we wait and see how this latest homestand works out. There are some tough games ahead of us. The Sens are playing well and the b's are on a roll since their shit start - so it won't be the same team we played at the beginning of the streak. There is no doubt that this is a better team than last year but they ain't won shit yet. Condon is playing well but we have to look at it one game at a time. Patches has been off his game and will need to improve. MT has to have faith in his 4 lines and not bench Lego at the first sign of trouble. And he needs to figure out how to get Tn Tin and Plaid into the lineup - before he needs them because someone gets injured. Above all - One game at a time boys! GYFHG!!

  4. And hey - If you get a chance, go see the new James Bond film when it comes out. I haven't seen a JB film in the theatre since Moonraker - but this one was awesome. My son took me to see it. A very good story for a change, loads of typical James Bond actioneye candy for all - overall I'll give it 4/5

Actually it's 4 third lines talent wise. Max has sucked lately and PleXXXe has been a turnover machine.

      It's a long season.

14 day conditioning stint, doesn't have to clear waivers. TinTin will be next. The fried-man says their are teams looking for defencemen, I'm sure MB is fielding calls for both.

  19. Turns out SNEast is showing the game after all. I've grown to rather enjoy the Bartlett/York duo. They call a very well balanced game, and whether or not Jason York (he was a Sen wasn't he?) is a Habs 'fan', he at the very least isn't one of the SFU and calls it like it is.

In baseball if you have a tie they don't take 4 guys off the field and make the pitcher throw underhand...it's bullshit. why not leave 5 skaters on and pull the goalies then no shots outside the blueline...it's all bull shit win or lose. give each team a point and get on with it.

  71. Looks like we are getting a new Canadian government that truly reflects what Canada is truly about.

I will add that we are seeing what is a 100% anti-crotch Canada, with women and native peoples and francophones and immigrants and young people excited to lead a more progressive and open country in a new century for Canada and for the world that looks to us to do what is right. What a great day!

  72. The highlight for me was the two young beautiful native girls throat singing and giggling and enjoying being part of the ceremony. Prime Minister Trudeau had his ceremony lead by a young drummer, then young singers and closed with young dancers, all of aboriginal roots. Man does this make a statement or what!

I truly hope Mr. Trudeau lives up to your expectations. As for this old baby boomer, I have been waiting for someone from Gen X to get into a position of power and see if they will truly try to change how things are done. As a pensioner, it will be interesting to see if our lives get any better with this new government or if austerity is still the order of the day. Forgive me if I don't hold my breath.

    4. This is all hauntingly familiar...first time I lived through it was when Tony Blair led the Labour Party to victory here in the UK. The dawn of a new day for the country. 10 years later the country was on its knees and broke. Then Barack Obama won in the U.S. And it was again the dawn of a new day...8 years later...and so now, here goes Canada down that same path. The dawn of a new day. I understand that things needed to change and that the government had become out of control. Harper had to go...I get that...but it has been proven over and over again that a left wing liberal agenda sounds great to a lot of people looking for a change but it doesn't actually work in the real world...enjoy the day Canada...but be very careful what you wish for...
