  1. Fun fact heard on the radio on Bud Holloway who hails from Wapella, Sask.
From Wapella to Seattle to Manchester to Ontario to Manchester to Skelleftea to Bern to St. John's to MTL 28003.08Km Bud's Hockey Journey

Population of Wapella Sask. 354 or so, Bud Holloway isn't the first Wapellian to play for the Habs. The other was Brett Clark.

  3. Too funny, Julien called Lundqvist a diver (well, he referred to his acting), now Vigneault says that ridiculous "The way Hank conducts himself, on the ice, away from the rink, off the ice, the example that he sets. Who would you rather have as a son, Henrik Lundqvist or Brad Marchand?"

He added, "For him to say things like that about Hank, totally wrong, and probably Claude is getting a little older and needs to check his eyesight."

Coming from the same 2 coaches who tried to label the Habs as divers to the nth degree during the playoffs and from which was borne the 'embellishment file' created by Colon, I think this is fucking beautiful!

BTW I watched the game, ratface did nudge him in the noggin and Lundqvist did a theatrical performance.

  4. Took two very full big bags of clothing and stuffed toys down to the community centre. All of it earmarked for incoming refugee families. I had three Habs t-shirts, now two. Did I need 5 winter hats? 4 pairs of sneakers/walking shoes? A couple pairs of jeans were slightly tight (yes I sew in the size 31 a la Seinfeld). I've collected hundreds of Ts over the years. My nostalgia will be better worn on a young new Canadian I can see one now sporting a Tragically Hip tee saying who the fuck is The Hip and then figuring it out). My daughter moved out and to Montreal 5 years ago, oh look, young girl clothes, a lot of it! Ssssh. Ever get towels that you'll never use? Someone else will. Bonus, not a single leaf-logo'd piece.

That's what they get for doing the olé thing with a minute to go and a one goal lead. Karma is a bitch.

  39. Jacques Demers said that cherry said that Reimer was as good as Price........whuttt??? Then, GAGnon says, who is preventing Reimer from being the #1 in Toronto? ....Bernier, un Quebecois.... Then someone said oh, ok.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hey guys, let's not put out our incredibly hot young kid who has both goals tonight in OT! Let's instead put out Plecky, who hasn't won a faceoff the entire evening which also led directly to the tying goal in the last minute! Doesn't that sound like an amazing plan?!

Oh well, got a point. Should have been 2. But it wasn't. Just glad they don't have to play the Devils again for a while. Boooooooooooooooooring.

  42. Wow, Dubinsky only gets one game for a very dangerous cross check to Crosby's neck, then breaks his stick on him as Sid lays on the ice in pain. One game! How can the league justify that sort of....

Oh, wait. Gregory Campbell is his teammate. Never mind, carry on. Go ahead and paralyze Ovie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Just came back from a lovely Devils induced sleep to see the Habs blow a 2 goal lead and lose in OT. The highlights I watched featured Bob Cole doing the play by play (when I was streaming the game earlier I had the French feed). My only comment is Wow...he reminds me of that legendary F1 commentator (many of you wont know him) Murray Walker. He stuck around way to long and in the end couldn't remember the names of the drivers, got things mixed up and generally forgot to actually call the race. Bob Cole sounds really old, can't remember names, gets muddled in his play by play then lapses into general play by play language that is just terrible to listen to. Someone get him off the air!

As for the Habs...take the loser point and move on. Learn from it. Just win baby!

When you have a mediocre team with no elite players down 2-0 in the 3rd, you have to put them away. Very disappointing to blow that game. Inexcusable, really. I think they were in Chokula mode after the second goal. Why? Keep the pressure up and make the devils play catch up.

    1. Yup. Part of the blame goes to the coaches too. Would've liked to see Ghetto and gCHuk get some overtime minutes. Those two can fly and gCHuk is a sweet passer.

    2. the Maritimer11:13 AM

Absolutely. MT had the wrong personnel deployed in the OT, which I despise btw. Markov does not have the legs anymore for 3 on 3. PK, Petry or N8 should be rotated over that 5 minute span, they have the wheels to get back. And you need your best skaters up front as well, I wouldn't put Max out there either, he's a shooter not a puck handler. C'mon MT you should be able to figure it out.

Remember when the leafools and SFUckers were pumping both Burn-Yay and Rhymer as a duo to go to Sochi? These idiots are pathetic with worship of all things leaf. And I don't care that Side Show coached that team to a gold medal, as far as I'm concerned he disrespected PK by not playing him more in that tournament. He was as good as any other D on that team and in some cases better. Fuck you Babs keep swimming in that sewer you jumped into. Enjoy losing often you deserve it.

One more thing: this twitter battle involving kidG... Last Friday night at the Sea Dogs game the person I've known more many years an scouts for an NHL team referred to Gallagher a rat. I kind of agree, but he's not a DIRTY rat like ratface marchand for example. Ratface has many transgressions, some listed by Larry Brooks of the NY Post in a column today regarding the AV vs clod thingy. I don't recall kidG ever using his stick on anyone or punching anyone unless he was punched first. He's never hit anyone from behind that I can remember. Yes, he does take liberties in the crease but he takes a beating for it. So, that's his choice right? Comparing him to a douchebag like marchand his ridiculous. Pick another name Mr. Kyte for your diatribe, this one won't wash.

  51. THIRD STAR – ALEX GALCHENYUK, C, MONTREAL CANADIENS

Galchenyuk tied for first in the NHL with four goals and added one assist to help the Canadiens (18-4-3, 39 points) earn five of a possible six points and reclaim first place in the League standings. He registered 1-1—2 in a 5-1 victory over the New York Rangers Nov. 25. Galchenyuk then scored in regulation and the shootout in a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils Nov. 27 before recording his first multi-goal outing of the campaign in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Devils Nov. 28 (2-0—2). The 21-year-old Milwaukee, Wis., native has 7-11—18 in 25 contests this season, including 5-2—7 during a five-game point streak as well as goals in a career-high four straight games.

TFS rehabbed, said he was good to go, got cleared, played three games, won them all and yes (re)injured himself. DGMB made it clear, today.

I believe deep down that you SFUckers don't give a shit about Carey Price and based on documented experience, give less of a shit about the Montreal Canadiens. Keep hyping your biased line that he was rushed back and this will hurt the Habs. Like you give a shit.

I don't have tva. I think. Maybe, but I don't have their sports channel. Anyway, yeah, I agree snet's production is fucking cheap. As much as tsn blows their leaf and has greasy fucks like insidreger, they are miles ahead in tv presentation and have seemingly higher quality analysts. Too bad buttman slid into bed with rogers and sold the farm. Habs fans will sffer for 10 more years after this. Like moe mentioned, I wish Mr. Molson would start his own tv coverage but that is impossible.
