Great SF moeman, always a treat.

Back to last night's game ... the team with the superior goalie won a close one which is what usually happens. It's not like we haven't seen that before. Still, that was the Habs game to win, dominated the Caps from the middle of the first on. A flukey one and Patches brain fart of a cross ice pass to somebody (DDD?) was the difference. OMan is right, DDD is always the coach's fall back position. He was looking for Max all night long, giving up some clear looks of his own or better options. *Smacks forehead*

Crazy though, the Habs have not beat the Capitals at the Bell Centre since 2008. Sooner or later that has to balance out don't you think?

  4. Moerman, another collection of assorted beauties...and some awesome chicks too! Where did you find that shot of Robert Wagner and Marilyn Munroe? - Awesome ones all 'round!

And as for last night - I missed the game but it appears that MT has suddenly reverted to playing the team he had last season. Never mind all the good that has come through 25 games - let's forget all that, put DDD back with Patches and give the 4th line 5 minutes a game - WTF!!?? I am trying to remain calm...maybe it was a blip to see if we was paying attention...

I don't like to play armchair GM but here's what I'd do:

1st line - Lego gCHuk Ghetto - ride these young ponies hard
2nd line - Flash PleXXXe CHip - two smart euros with a guy that can play with an edge and is fast enough to keep up
3rd line - Patches DDD DSP (for now) - get DD as far away from the top D pairings as possible
4th line - Lb Mitchell Errol - Torrey makes this line go, I'll be happy when he gets healthy

Feed Max some extra minutes on the PP, PK and when the other net is empty - he and PleXXXe are the kings of the EN goal.

I only suggest the 3rd line as such because of MT's love for the DDD/Max thing. He can't help himself.

    2. Good stuff. Not liking gCHuck's line not getting more minutes.

Just did the weekly Habs Quiz over at HIO ... got 9/10 correct.

The ol' Maritimer's had a good week figuring stuff out. The Rogers Gamecenter streaming platform is not too bad, I noticed the picture was not quite as sharp on the big screen tv, probably better suited for a laptop or tablet. Also. I was a bit behind you guys last night, it would freeze up occasionally and buffer for a couple of seconds, but better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick.

  8. Not sure anyone mentioned it in the other thread, but RIP Scott Weiland.

Back in the 90's I lived on STP. Just good solid rock n roll. People said they were a PJ knockoff, but people also said PJ was a Nirvana knockoff. Fuck em. I saw STP in concert many times, I also saw a few Velvet Revolver shows. Sure, Scott was on drugs, but he could really fucking sing and he owned a stage.

Don't do drugs kids. RIP Scott. An (Interstate) Love Song for you

    1. Ditto to 29's nice tribute. STP had a unique sound thanks to Weiland's voice/character, one could say the same about Eddie Vedder. Great powerful singer, musically inclined. Weiland's habits did him in. R.I.P.

    2. Also, too, a friend once told me that STP's music was 'stripper music'. I think he said that whilst enjoying une danse à dix.

These are the guys who were my heroes when I was a very young man, actually about the same age as me back then, except for Richer. And they aren't wrong:

For the record, the last Habs player I considered a "hockey hero" was Captain Kirk Muller. He, along with Vince D., Brian Bellows, Carbo and of course Saint Patrick, won a championship. Saku was a damn fine player whom I respected immensely but he was saddled with some bad teams and couldn't take the Habs to the elusive 25th Cup. I was sad when Gainey let him walk away. That was a huge mistake by BG, IMHO, he could have played a few more years and there would have been that continuity the Habs were always known for. There could have been a meaningful torch passing instead of the ceremonial ones that I would personally like to see ended. They seem kind of phoney to me now and I don't watch them. End of rant.
