  2. Alrighty, Sharks are slumping. Time to take a bite out of them! Hey, I'm tired, that's all I've got.

Wish there was a Canadian sports page to read about this game. Instead, TSN has 3/4 top stories about the last place leaf and one more about the Pens only because Kessel is on there. Hey, but Edmonton is in a playoff spot!(because the Pacific is terrible).

  4. NHL/NHLPA SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM // December 15, 2015 // Media Releases
NEW YORK/TORONTO (December 15, 2015) - The National Hockey League Players' Association and the National Hockey League announced today that forward Zack Kassian of the Montreal Canadiens has been returned to available status and has entered the follow-up care phase of the Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program.
Kassian's care continues to be administered pursuant to the NHL/NHLPA SABH Program.

  5. Thinks DGMB will give him another shot? Judging by the look on his face when it happened, I'm doubtful.

    ReplyDelete
  6. ZK placed on waivers.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Guess that means no 2nd chance.

      Delete
  7. When the headline over at tsn is "Stamkos-to-Toronto talk set to heat up again", do you think they realize its only themselves (meaning all SFU media) that are talking about this crap? Perhaps they do, thus making that statement a self-fulfilling prophecy.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Now DGMB has Kassian's $1.75 back on the books, I'm sure he already had a plan for this, likely a buyout.

    ReplyDelete
  9. And we should always remember to give thanks to the Sharks for many good years of service from Josh Gorges, for Max Pacioretty and for what will be an early 2nd round pick at next June's draft (from the Gorges to Buffalo trade). The gift that keeps on giving. How did Rivet work out for them I wonder?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Or maybe since ZK is an RFA next year, if he's not picked up they can save some cap and if he proves he's cleaned up, maybe DGMB can trade him for some picks or something then?
As a person, I hope he has conquered his demons.

When you only need 20 mins to decide to get rid of a guy on waivers, it's not likely you're thinking of playing him if he clears.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If Kassian clears waivers and is assigned to AHL, #Habs will be on the hook for $800,000 of his $1.75M cap hit. $950,000 relief.

So, I checked one of Toronto rags after the Price announcement and the caption under Price's photo is "Price wins a close vote". OK, so the leafools are sad that the Pylon didn't win, I get it. Then there is another Stamkos Is Coming To Toronto article which I started to read and then nearly puked at the toronto arrogance. Moe has aptly named them Sick Fucks. These assholes have completely forgotten that "native son/home boy" Squid refused to sign there when he became a UFA because and he even said he didn't want to be part of the fucking shit show that is the toronto media. People have memories, they haven't forgot how the leaffool faithful wanted the Muskoka 5 which included leaf legend Mats Sundin GONE. Those Sick Fucks have zero integrity and only have their own self interests at heart. If SS didn't live up to his mega contract they wouldn't hesitate to throw him on the discard pile.

    1. Here's today's thing, TFS™ just won our country's top athlete recognition, after bagging every major professional hockey award, not to mention a relatively recent spectacular Olympic Gold medal performance. The SFU will make this a second class story, maybe even third behind their manufactured Stamkos stories and the return of (Olympic) Team Canada's 3rd stringer burn-yeah. Also, whilst here, Side Show can still fuck off for calling the leaf 'Canada's Team'. Fucking traitor.

  18. Hey guys!...and gals! Been off the grid but lurking a bit while the home renovations gave Ben done. Internet is back up and running do I will try staying awake tonight. My take is that Kassian song ever play for the Habs again...not sure if he can be dumped completely due to the CBA but he won't ever wear a Habs jersey again. Mitch being back tonight should be good news too. And congrats to TFS on winning the Lou! And I said this once before...the only way Stamkos plays for the leaf is if he has given up on the game itself and only wants money - in which case the leaf are welcome to him. No other scenario ever sees a real hockey player voluntarily play for the leaf. No one actually chooses the leaf unless there is no other choice left or the person only cares about money. Someone name me one bona five decent NHL quality player who has chosen, above all other teams , to play for the leaf and who actually turned out to have made a wise career move, apart from the money they might have earned...

    1. Good stuff and welcome back K3X.

The one thing I think could get Stamkos to wear the putrid leaf jersey is he grew up a diehard leafool (no choice as hnic showcased them above all others for decades). Is he worth what they (or another team) will pay? He's young but has lost an edge and he wouldn't have the line mates to prop him up. He seems like a decent guy. Could be a fun rental if Stevie Y. has bungled this up, until trade deadline. I said for years (might even have coined it) that leaf fans aren't hockey fans, so their delusion of Stamkos being the next Frank Mahovlich is fun to see. Regardless, the SFUckers are even more desperate than the regular leafools.

    https://twitter.com/erlendssonTBO/status/676882656605245440

"The signs clearly suggest that the Maple Leafs sign the 25-year-old, who will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

The problem is the radio station in question is owned by Canadian telecommunications company Bell, a part-owner of the Maple Leafs. NHL clubs are prohibited from making pitches towards players who remain under contract with other clubs, and doing so is considered tampering.

As the game drew closer, the Maple Leafs and security at Air Canada Centre began to refuse entry to fans holding the signs, claiming they are unauthorized sponsors, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun."

It never ceases to amuse and annoy me when supposedly knowledgeable hockey personalities, like Blowhard Burkie and now Jon Cooper refer to Toronto as the "mecca" or "vatican" of hockey. In some cases it may be sheer ignorance but usually it is to suck up to or placate the insatiable media mob which resides there. Here's the thing: Toronto happens to be the location of the national media and broadcasters for the country, ergo it is where the attention of the country is focused. It has nothing to do with it's laughable hockey team whose record of failure in the last nearly half century is well known. Any true astute hockey fan, whether you like the Habs or not, knows if there is a hockey team in Canada or the NHL which invokes that image, of a glorious, successful past and has, with a few exceptions, been a competitive team has to be the Montreal Canadiens. This is, as noted by legendary and well connected hockey insider and Torontonian Bob McKenzie, an undeniable truth. End of rant.

If any FHFer wants to cut and paste this on the tsn website feel free.

    1. Worth a try but SFU biased moderators would likely block it like they are with my comment upthread about tsn1050 handing out the 'sign Stamkos signs', there's just no way there's too many other comments that they merely 'missed' it.

  78. So will nothing be done about the hit on PFK in the first period do you reckon? Clearly on the numbers with his face to the boards...but because it is PFK...?? The NHL is really a bullshit league sometimes. All mouth and no trousers as my English mother-in-law (RIP) used to say...

  79. TSN is kind of fucking hilarious (in a sad and pathetic way) in their 'Leaf blinders on/Stamkos' bias. They've added a fucking Countdown to FA timer with a picture of Stamkos next to it. Cuz that will make tronna more attractive to him! To his credit, Big Head Bob said yesterday he could just as easily see Stamkos go to Montreal to play with PK and Price and have a shot at a cup a whole lot sooner than if he went to tronna.
