Did eMTy find a power forward or a big, scoring No. 1 center under his tree yesterday? No? Carry on then. Lots of CHoices for sports viewing today - WJC marner! marner! marber!, Spengler Cup Go You Fucking Minor leaguers Go! with Guy Boucher (Habs coaCH in waiting) and the Eagles/Redskins game tonight. Did I miss anything? Oh Yeah, Habs will be trying to slow Ovie down! Go Habs Wake The Fuck Up!!

  3. Caught the last 20 minutes or so of the SFU plays of the year on SNET. The only Habs related play was the illegal, unpenalized head check by Karlsson on N8 from the playoffs with Mike Johnson climaxing to the hit. Fuckemall I say. BTW how many dunks by mutant basketball players to you need in the POTY? It happens about 14 times every game FFS.

Anyway, go habs go. I expect nothing but more heartbreak. But give 'er.

Daughter 1 got the Hobbit trilogy so started watching that last night.
Got a Star Wars marathon planned for Monday before we see the latest installment.
Then there's all that Netflix stuff I haven't binged yet.
So if the boys aren't going to pick up the pace, they might end up on my back burner.

  4. Happy Boxing Day everyone.
Hope the Habs had enough rest(?) to get out of their funk. Read that KidA is skating in a non-contact jersey with his mates and Kassian asked not to report to the Ice Dogs.

#Habs say that after speaking with Zack Kassian's agent he has been asked by the team to not report to the AHL IceCaps until further notice.

Remember their is a roster freeze in the NHL. A trade involving Zack Kassian is still possible. We'll know more in the next few days.

Anyone think he'll be traded? What team would be willing to give him a go?

Hookers and Blow (aka Las Vegas) will give a first round pick and a bag of soon to be legal weed for him,.

  6. Merry Holidays everyone, I hope it was pleasant for everybody. I got a bit of cheer in me and even starting thinking optimistically about our team. Then I checked the lines and scratches before going to bed tonight. That didn't last long. Oh well.

The 'freeze' on moves ends on the 28th. Because of this ridiculous schedule, that means two or three more games until anything, if anything is indeed being worked on.

Speaking of the schedule, what is up with piling on game for this road trip? Habs have already played more than everyone else, up to 3 games more than many teams. But they need to have another 3/4 night combo? What's the rush here?

  7. He"ll be traded to Philly for some prospects along with Andrighetto, Kassian will then play with Giroux and turn into LeClair 2.0 and torment us for the next 10 years, just watch

OK, so the Caps are scoring an average of 3 goals a game and over the last month the Habs are averaging 1.58 GPG. Sounds like a winning recipe to me.

I wonder if 29 could wear his half and half jersey to try and break the losing streak?

  59. According to Fried man, a few teams on doing some leg work on acquiring Kassian, mentioned the Sharks.
HA, would love to get Brent Burns, I know, I know, it won't happen, but I need comic relief right now.

  60. Man this stuff is hard to watch. Lots of trade rumours out there. Whatever it is, I don't expect any sort of saviour coming our way. But regardless of what the trade is, I'm gonna cross my fingers that (Y) is heading out of town. Slow and useless. The nice hit every 5 games or so isn't worth it. On the ice, slow and beaten for goals 2 & 3 tonight, the latter by a 36 year old grinder in Chimera. I'd take a 5th round pick any day of the week.

    Oh well, go Skins!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Last time the Montreal Canadiens lost 10 of 11 games, they fired Alain Vigneault and gave Michel Therrien his first NHL coaching job (2000).

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well, at least there's one guy who is still winning. Congratulations, TFS.

"MONTREAL - Carey Price is Canada's male athlete of the year.
The Montreal Canadiens goaltender won the Lionel Conacher Award in a landslide.
The 28-year-old took 53 per cent of the vote in a Canadian Press poll of sports editors and broadcasters across the country.
Sprinter Andre de Grasse was second with 28 per cent.
Price had a dominant season in goal. He led the National Hockey League in goals-against average and save percentage while leading Montreal to second place overall.
He won the Hart Trophy as the league's most valuable player and the Vezina Trophy as top goaltender as well as two other NHL awards.
Price is the first hockey player to be named male athlete of the year since Sidney Crosby in 2010 and the first goalie to ever take home the honour."

  63. What? Lb's penalty was for diving? I thought it was because he gave that little elbow to Laich. I guess I missed the the replay.

    ReplyDelete
  64. If gCHuck and N8 are traded and we do not win the cup, there will be a second Richard Riot. Either EMty or DDD has to go, together they are two pair that cant beat one of a kind.

  66. the Maritimer12:56 PM

I'm getting caught up on the games I pvred yesterday, Spengler Cup - Team Canada has a bunch of ex-Habs playing for them. Manny Malholtra, Matt D'Agostini, Tom Pyatt and last but not least, old favourite and PP Specialist (Urologist) .... MAB!!! All coaCHed by future pure wool Habs coaCH Guy Boucher! eMTy doesn't know it yet but he's about to be working for Rick Dudley as a pro scout, I'd say about Jan. 6 after they have lost 10 in a row. Upcoming defeats to TB, Fla, Bos and Philthy should seal his fate.

  67. Siging EMpty to a long term deal is good biz. It will keep the Anti Chamber from foaming at the mouth when he is fired, and it sends a signal to the league CH is willing to spend to improve. It was a good investment so he can honourably be discharged.

  72. Worst part of this season is similar it is to many previous leaf seasons. Have a great October, get a bunch of idiots on the web planning the parade, even have the mediots thinking the team might be for real, then BAM! Reality sets in and it's clear there are many missing parts and eMTy, the helmsman, to spite himself will not steer away from that iceberg and he'll keep playing DDD in big important minutes.

  77. 'Twas the night after Christmas, when all over the ice
Not a player was scoring, just one would be nice
The sticks were all stacked behind the benches with care,
    In hopes that a magic one would be there;
    The boxing day hangover cured with pure legal meds;
    While visions of being traded danced in their heads;
Then with MT's thinning hair, I watched the caps,
Take it to the Habs, save a few little scraps,
When out on the rink, they cut the Caps lead in half,
It was Otto again, you just gotta laugh.
The Sheik kept them in it, shooting his pads like a flash,
While getting peppered, still cleaning up the trash,
But how it was to end I think we all know,
Not enough goals for one team to show
So they're off to Tampa and F.L.A.
I can't imagine what eMTy might say,
Is MB working on his own magic trick
    Perhaps it's (Y) for a 3rd round pick,
Nobody's safe and all are to blame,
And MT whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Patches! now, PK! now Markie and Eller!
On, Chucky! on, Petry! on, Condan and that other feller!
    To be continued...or not.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Scrivens' cap is $2.3 which will be pro-rated of course. Stephan Waite is sure earning his salary this season.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm indifferent to extremely cautiously optimistic about the trade. Kassian was worthless as is to us, might as well give another goalie a shot. It's hard to imagine it getting much worse back there. Who knows, maybe Scrivens will go on a hot streak. I was kind of hoping for Reimer (I know, I know, but he's actually not a bad goalie. Not great, but could hold down the fort for a while). I guess they've got a few smarter guys in Toronto these days, though.
