    2. THX K3X.

That would be a cool postal code.

    3. Let me second K3X's sentiments. moeman, this site is one of the things that makes being a Habs fan fun. If I may, speaking as a fan of the show Shameless, I have always wanted to apply the nickname of Lip to our own Gallagher, since he shows so much of the same sort of moxie. I think #11 already has a moniker here, but I can't recall. GO YOU FUCKING GALLAGHER RESTORED HABS GO!

    4. The same to you and yours, moeman. Thanks again for all you do and giving us this place to share with like-minded folk.

  5. HAPPY NEW YEAR MOEMAN! And to all the FHFers out there too! Heck of a day for an outdoor game, even though it's a Bettman 'get more merucans to watch hockey' tool. Regretting my decision not to go as my cousin has been posting lots of pics from the event. And that's just what it is - an event. Just hope our guys come away with the 2 points and kidA's fingers stay intact - glad ratface isn't playing.

One more thing from the alumni game. While it was cruel for Kovalev to "embarrass a 61 year old" (with not a very hard shot actually), it's perfectly fine for the Doctor to do so to a 58 year old Richard Sevigny. It's so OK, let's give him the mvp. FOAD SFU.

Anyway, positive 2016 thoughts. Can't wait to see kidA back on the ice.

    GoHabsGo.

    1. I loved Sevigny yesterday, although I'm sure his body is not this morning. And who should be embarrassed when Raycroft can't handle Shutt's sexagenarian wristshot? Gotta love how the bitter rivalry lingers.

    3. When McLean Stevenson (Colonel Blake) died it felt weird to replace him but it was well done with Harry Morgan (Colonel Potter).

  10. When he isn't sowing his bias, friedman does some of the best individual player pieces. The Condon one was well done.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Happy new year kids! My hangover is, uh, not good

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wonder if the petition worked and the cabaret singer is in.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The non-snet, NHL produced rivalry piece did not focus on the Zednick and PatCHes hits.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yawn. Just get to the frickin game.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's going to be 2017 by the time they get to the game.

    ReplyDelete
  16. "Jenkins! We need the most generic, non-offensive, unmemorable music act possible for this thing!"

    ReplyDelete
  17. So does NBC allow Montreal to win? Does Therrien? Such intrigue!

    ReplyDelete
  18. 'Classic French flag" ??

    ReplyDelete
  19. moeman, agree about Friedman. He had great potential and was a breath of fresh air when he was new to the scene. Then they got to him. Agree he does great pieces like the Condon one though.

And leaf fan Jimmy Hinchcliff cheering for his favourite player, P< and the Habs. I'll allow it because he's a pretty cool cat despite his tronna upbringing. BTW, has Viggo abandoned the Habs - haven't seen him sporting the CH...mind you haven't seen him do anything so there's that.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Roadrunner says it all about the rivalry, respect. See today's song.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Living on the other side of the world, I sometimes mix up my dates. Is there a game today? Did I get it wrong?

  26. Yeah, Simple Plan rockin' out O Canada!
And I've already heard chants of USA USA when the Habs were being introduced. Dumbasses.

  31. Sit through all that crap and then right after puck drop the gamecenter feed cuts out. Of course. It's back now, though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Put DDD back on the 3rd line and he scores right away. If only someone would have thought of that earlier....

    ReplyDelete
  33. When was the last time we scored first?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love how DDD proves millions of Habs fans right by wasting no time in scoring as soon as he is off the #1 line GYFGRHG!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oops I was on pause earlier, live now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. "When it was in Detroit, it was half and half for the leafs! But it's all Boston here"

  37. So ref lets all the crosschecking in the back and pushing Yeast, the net goes off and he still doesn't bow the whistle until fights break out. FUck off.

    1. Just switched to the NBC feed. I like Doc, with his "I'm OK that I don't know everything about hockey" attitude, even with JR doing some of the colour work.

      Delete
    2. Thx, just switCHed.

      Delete
    3. PKP (TVA) Sports is a few ticks ahead of the NBC feed - and seems like a better picture? They definitely have made strides in the quality of their commentary too.

      Delete
    4. I switched over to NBC and the first thing I heard was something about the shaved and maybe a penalty should have been called.....fuck it I tuned back to TVA.

  39. Man i love having Doc Emerick do a Habs game but some of these NBC camera movements are making me physically ill (aided by the hangover I guess)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Only 2 shots on Sheik, guys here say he's going to freeze.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Learned one more reason to love and thank Mr. Ken Dryden yesterday. Healy says he was moments from signing with the Habs when Dryden, then president of the wretched leaf, snatched him away. Was good to have a man on the inside.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Too bad that wasn't with less than a second to go and they call the delay of game.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Great game so far. The puck is following the Habs around much like it didn't all through December. Watching them skate-march with snow bluffs in the background is a nice touch.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Not a bad first period...keep it up boys!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have thr TVA feed today - not too bad I suppose...Go Habs Go! BTW - I didnt mind the rocked out O Canada

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sportsnet is literally the Boston Bruins show. I'm switching back and forth between them and the NBC feed, and the American feed is talking about Montreal more. Which isn't hard since SN literally hasn't even mentioned them at all yet.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hah! Barberio on TVA talking about how pleasantly surprised he is to be a part of this - last week was expecting to be in Utica right now. Must be quite a bus ride from St. John's for Toker et al.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I wonder if the Icecaps and teams before them fly everywhere? It's dicey getting off the rock by ferry this time of year. Minor league teams aren't typically known for flying much, more of a bussing kind of gig.

      Delete
    2. They were in Binghamton, NY last night and play in Utica tomorrow. Yeah, I've heard those ferry rides to the rock are pretty crazy affairs.

      Delete
  49. Campari and San Pel on ice. Funny story, I had a big family brunch on Sunday and post party made some ice, which I freeze outdoors during the winter. So I placed the trays on a table and forgot about them, until just now. Buried under a foot and a half of snow. Only in Canada!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Someone mentioned the Habs behind the opponent net play in the Alumni game. Today we see both KidA and DDD doing just that.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wind must have changed 180° - during the intermission McSplooge said the Habs benefited by having the wind at their backs in the first.

    ReplyDelete
  73. They're bound to put the puck in, they're doing everything else.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  75. Habs New Years Resolution: Play some fucking hockey.

  94. So I've now heard that it's the wind, it's Krejci's injury, Ratface's suspension and the fact that bruins have been doing media that is causing this lopsided play. No mention of the Habs playing well. Nope. It's just about the broons not playing up to their potential.

    ReplyDelete
  95. That was another good period. Great save by Sheik to end the period. Habs are playing well. I still dont like the outdoor game but I am enjoying this. Drinking pints of Abbot Ale on NYD. Shortbread and a pint. I'm well happy

    ReplyDelete
  116. Heeely wisdom " Goal scorers are defined by how many times they hit the back of the net" Billionares are defined by how many billions they have. Airplanes are defined as machines that fly.
