  1. In my Top 10 all time favourite artists I’d list David Bowie at number 5. Lucky him. Seriously and in respect to his artistry, Bowie was nonpareil, especially live. He was glamorous, gorgeous, had a seriously sexy voice, changed the music scene more than once and influenced many a punk, funk, hip hopper and rock n’ roller. Few can lay that claim. He had a Hendrix-Marley-Morrison-Strummer cool vibe but he was unique above all.

A sexy music memory - I dated a fabulously fine frisky feline a couple of years back. She knew her music, especially all things UK. We were about the same age, she was maybe two years older but like me, did not look or act her age at all (why should we?). One fantastically fun wintry weekend, my gorgeous gal pal decided to cook up a storm. Dressed in a cute cotton girly thing (sometimes I’m lost for words and breathe) she danced in the kitchen whilst whipping up breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Lots of Bowie was played. It was golden. Thanks David.

The letter above is from Brian Eno.

  4. In High School where it seems with the advent of facebook life ends these days I was a bit of a wild lad. One day me and my grade nine mates spot this Dude with Orange hair and platform glam. This was in northern Ontario 1972. Most people in the school thought he was a freak, he ended up being best man at my wedding ten years later.

  5. Back to hockey - I read this tweet by Brian Wilde - A lot of what he says make some sense...Top 10 Solutions For The Habs Problems. dlvr.it/DHJfrJ Essentially 7 points that re-iterate that Michel Therrien is a fucking moron and needs to be replaced as soon as possible, two saying that DGMB needs to up his game and 1 recommending a bit of prayer and patience.

    2. Hockey is a very simple game. Pass the puck between team mates, shoot the puck at the goal and don't let the goalie catch the puck. Get the best guys you can to do that over and over again and you win, as long as you don't let the other team do it more than you do

    3. I read that also, Wilde knows his stuff and I like listening to him on the radio because he says more than he can on TV where he has to be somewhat neutral. He also strikes me as a genuine good person. Before the Chanel incident broke, he was aware of it but never revealed it. On a previous segment discussing Drouin and who would have to go the other way, he said something like 'I know the organisation may have somewhat soured on Galchenyuk but it would be crazy to trade him for 'potentiel', when asked it he meant his play, he just said, no...you've seen him play. When asked about it after the news broke, he said he would not betray a confidence and he yes, it would be a breaking story, but I won't be that guy just to make a headline. Just an example, but there have been many examples where his human side clearly comes out. He's also been a big Lego supporter.

    5. Wilde is pretty on-the-mark in his assessment. I think MB is simply not finding that RW anywhere to plug in. And as Boone wrote, none of the seats reserved for pro scouts were filled at last night's game. The people MB has floated as possible to get are not on anyone else's wish list right now.

But don't worry, DeLaRose will fix everything!

  6. Just heard that Carr has been sent to St. John's for JDLR - What the fuck is going on? Who's gonna score our goals now that he's gone? (...checks stats...) Oh look - 24 games, 2 goals and 7 assists - setting Newfoundland on fucking fire! Our problems are solved!!! Jesus Christ! You can't make this shit up any more boys and girls!!

    1. Looking at the stats on the Habs site, only 3 players have a higher S% than Carr. He has only played 17 games. OK - he is -2 but still - his line and his effort has been one of the very few highlights of the past month and half. Makes no sense to me...JDLR is -7. Carr has taken more SOG in 17 NHL ga,es than JDLR has taken in 30 AHL games...So unless there is a trade a foot, the Habs don't actually need a non producing 4th line centreman

  10. Opposing teams have got to stop coming in here all excited to play in front of such a great crowd. Homeboys (Fleury, Crawford, for example) have to stop coming in here and putting it all out like it's the fourth round of the playoffs.

And our veterans are not the sort who have the experience to grab a team that forgot how to win and show them The Way. Pleks? Patches? Vodkov? Nyet. They know what they have seen in the past. When the wheels fall off, keep puttering around without making too much noise. Wait until the coach is changed or the GM panics and sends you somewhere less stressful to play and then the game will be fun again.

That is what happened with teams under Carbo, Martin -- shit, even Vigneault and MT1.0

Losing is our Way. Not quite being good enough. Agent 86: "Missed it by that much."

  35. I am so confused right now. I'm sure before the weekend is over, other shit will happen that makes us say "OH, that makes sense." Because right now I am at a total loss. How is a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th round pick for Tinordi not better than this, which I imagine a team like Edmonton would be happy to give. Rrrr, salary cap, mmmm yeah. Fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree Pad...everyone ends up in the minors. Habs gain a contract space - whatever that means- but no scoring - which is what they need. I am fast losing patience with DGMB. Every move he makes sends us further from the cup. And they have sent all their goal scores down to St. John's. Does Scott still play in the all star exhibition? Something else needs to happen but everyone in the NHL has to stop laughing long enough to pick up the phone if DGMB calls...

John Scott won't play in MTL at all. It's really the Coyotes who insisted to include him in a trade. They didn't want to pay him in the AHL.

    BrianWilde ‏@BWildeCTV 2m2 minutes ago
The Habs remain committed to acquiring a right winger but this is the end of that deal. It's not a precursor to more. ....................So much for me thinking there was more to it.

  51. MT blames losing streak on goaltending, MB immediately makes trade for goaltender. MT says Habs intimidated by Pens, two youngsters sent down to minors and big idiot traded for one game later. I think we're learning who's really calling the shots here.

Only positive is that Tinner might finally get a chance. Good for him, and all the best.

As a fan you go through the ups and downs. But I'm finding it increasingly difficult to give a shit anymore. What a mess this once proud organization has become.
