  4. 'PHILADELPHIA - Picture, for a second, Canadiens’ head coach Michel Therrien in a tuxedo with tails, holding a baton and standing in front of a packed Montreal Symphony House.
In a lot of ways, an NHL coach is like a conductor of an orchestra. Like a conductor, Therrien does not actually play an instrument (or in the games), but he’s in charge of making sure everyone is properly aligned to play in rhythm.
Therrien’s job is a whole lot easier now that right wing Brendan Gallagher back in the lineup. Gallagher brought a lot more than energy when he returned on New Year’s Day in the Winter Classic.'

He sure aint no Kent Nagano. Welcome back KidA, go get 'em.

Some good players on that team. I miss Saku...

If Saku was on this team in his prime, I'd say they make some noise. Subtract DDD and put Saku with Max and kidG .... Yowza!!

    3. Y'all realize we will be hearing the SFU for months, perhaps years because a leaf prospect scored the gwg? Congratulations to the Finns.

  26. @steve whenever you are in the house - a couple of days ago I finished watching Man in the High Castle (the show, read the book 20 years ago of course) and am now halfway through jessica Jones. need your thoughts on both of them if you've seen them

Actually it was I who recommended the Man In the High Castle... and Jessica Jones as well.

    2. Is it a sci-fi?

      Delete
    3. ooooh the M let's talk!

I loved MITHC. Quite different from the book obvs, and it was slow going at first, but it all worked in the end.(SPOILERS) you really can't beat an aging Hitler in that last(-ish) scene. Looking forward to S2, see what they do with the alt (or "more normal") universe

I am not a superhero fan. Neither Marvel nor DC nor an of it, I was never really interested. But JJ is very different, and Im liking it a lot. we'll see where it goes though

      Delete
    4. juce Man in the High Castle is "sci-fi" in that it is Philip K Dick and not really a "normal" universe. But without spoiling anything, it's not aliens or space or the future or anything

      Delete
    5. the Maritimer8:46 PM

High Castle is about an alternate earth/future where Germany ans Japan conquered the world. I found it... interesting, a little slow at times. I never read the book so I wasn't sure what was going on. I had to research it after I read it. I liked the ending.

Jessica Jones is a Marvel super hero turned private detective with an edge and a drinking problem. Krysten Ritter is awesome in the role.

Re: Man In the High Castle - I researched it after I *watched* it. The last episode told me why it was named thus...

29, if you like JJ you'll like Daredevil especially Wilson Fisk, aka the KIngpin. These are more street level heroes, Netflix is doing a bunch of series with different characters.

The so-called star forwards on this team should be ashamed of themselves. 5th round pick, 5'-9" Brendan Gallagher is by far the best one of the bunch. The only one with the guts to go to the net.

  62. Elboa, there is no cure for the blue and white disease, burn him at the stake

    ReplyDelete
  63. So the Habs embarrass the a good broons team at home, and then barely keep up with a struggling non-playoff bound Phlyers team? Yeah...I think there's much more going on here than injuries, goaltending and bad luck. Actually, if it wasn't for lucky bounces they would have gotten shut out tonight.

It's sad when you know 2 minutes into the game that they're going to lose. Oh well, back to Montreal tomorrow so they can lose in front of the fans.

  64. Sorry guys - lasted one period and had a very bad feeling - which sadly proved right. Several points I wanted to make but I won't flog this dead horse - because it is just that - a dead horse!

Pourquoi Ben Scrivens? He didn't play too bad but there was nothing wrong with what Condon did in Boston on NYD. His second period glove turned that game on its ear. His reward...fuck off onto the bench so MT can start a career minor leaguer. Way to build a rookie's confidence you twat! The goalie hasn't been the issue on this road trip at all. The Habs' "best" players" haven't been their best players and when that happens you are in the shit. Carr and Ghetto have been their best players on most nights of late - they certainly have been scoring the goals - and Ghetto can't even keep his spot in the lineup. Only reason Carr has kept his is beacause he's under 5'10". I think MT must have done something horrific in a past life to a dwarf and now the union of little people have a blackmail card they are playing on him. Nothing else makes much sense. This little home stand should be interesting...thank God the Wildcard is still an option for the Habs...but for how long?

    4. Good rant. I couldn't believe that with a PP and a pulled goalie they still couldn't do anything dangerous at the end of the third. Dish is not the same, PK looked tired (no excuse for that after three days' rest), DDD and Eller were underwhelming. DSP played like he wanted Ghetto back in the line-up (I sure do). And Emelin looked interested, at least. I think the General (looking at times like a general malaise) should sit tonight for Pateryn.
