  1. Great SF as always Moeman - who is the guy in the pic with what appears to be a young Susan Sarandon...? And may I add...Ballast Point - The perfect balance of taste and aroma. An obsession with ingredients. An exploration of techniques.

It's kinda relaxing to visit the site without a need to comment on hockey, as there is still a good part of a week before any is played...Nice ones all 'round!

  2. K3X posted this last thread, the John Scott story in his own words. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/a-guy-like-me/

Awesome read. As I said before, it is downright despicable to see him thrown into the furthest hockey market imaginable at a time his wife is expecting twins, living in Michigan. MB should do the right thing and call him up FFS. Can the team be any worse with sCHott in the line-up, seriously? Is that, perhaps, actually the "message" the team has been trying to send mgmt with their extra-shitty play since this trade?

PS: awesome SF as always, moeman

  13. I may actually tune into some of the all-star festivities because of Scott to tell the truth. But it kills me that the Habs have been part of this whole sordid affair, resulting in the dumping of TinTin who has also been treated like crap by this organization (read eMTy). But the biggest fault lies with MB. He should have called Scott up for the Habs' last game so Scott could go to the game as a NHL player. It's shameful and disgraceful to see this organization treat a player like this. I've lost faith in the management from top to bottom. They could save face if they at least call Scott up when play resumes. Hell even give AK27 a shot - give the fans something to prove to us you still have that Habs heart and soul. Something. Anything. But I suspect we'll be icing the same pathetic team on Tuesday, lacking the heart and soul this team needs to get out of this disastrous stretch of games. I finally watched The Last Gladiators last night. The part that really struck me was how guys like Gainey and Robinson took the extra time to help Knuckles with his game. I'm pretty sure we don't have that class on this team right now. And that is the problem...along with the coach, much the way Perron treated Nilan like crap, eMTy uses his favourites and shits on the rest.

    Go Scott Go!

  15. From the score

"Mike Commodore is spewing more vitriol at Mike Babcock.

Upon learning that Babcock sent a message to John Scott in support of his All-Star endeavor, Commodore unleashed a series of profane tweets that suggested the Toronto Maple Leafs head coach only reached out to attract applause from the media.

This is the second time he's directed aim at the "arrogant" Maple Leafs coach. Commodore previously went on a rant against Babcock during the coach's unsuccessful return to Detroit earlier this season.

Babcock coached Commodore twice, both times briefly, during the defenseman's 11-year career."

Subban gets it. He entertains, and he honors the legends. Here's what we know: It isn't an All-Star Game without Subban. Not even close.

Hi FHFolks! The Maritimers have returned home. A little earlier than anticipated, but we had a good time. The weather was hit and miss, warm enough for us with a couple rain days. Got some golf in, met some new fellow karate students at a local dojo and toured the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. Cocoa Beach was nice as well.

OK, some interesting things have happened since I made that comment:

      1) MB calls up Ghetto and somebody named Lessio. I feel better already.
      2) Jack Todd advocates for the call up of All Star MVP John Scott. He argues that Big John would give the puny Habs some courage and remove some of the tarnish from the Habs (and MB's) image. I'm sold. It sure couldn't make things any worse than they are, maybe he could give eMTyhead some coaching tips. Right now a chimp could turn on the Blender(tm) just as easily.

      Delete
    2. Is Lessio the guy they got for Thomas?

  61. I wasn't going to watch, but I was doing nothing today so I gave the ASG a go on replay. I have to say, it was pretty entertaining. John Scott totally stole the show, and now the Habs can say they have an All Star MVP on their team.

    Not bad. 5/7.

  62. Like 29 and juce, I enjoyed the profanity by Seguin on air (I don't know what they were expecting micking up a guy on the ice, especially a guy like Seguin). But I also enjoyed it when they asked the singer/coach guy in the first game if he had any bets on the table with his wife/coach of the other team and I think he repsonded, "Oh, I can't talk about that here. Let's just say we'll give new meaning to "you're going down" in our house". I think he said that, but I don't have the will to go back and make sure. It was definitely something dirty, the guys laughed pretty hard.

Also, they mentioned something during the game that I never realized. From 1981 to 2001 only three guys won the Art Ross: Gretzky (10), Mario (6) and Jagr (5).

  65. “I wanted to ride my stick to center ice à la Tiger Williams, but Burnsie [San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns] got in my way so I had to veer to the side and do a Subban real quick,” explained Scott, who boasts 285 games of NHL experience on his resume since debuting back in 2008-09. “I just kind of went with it. I didn’t expect to score, especially on the first shift. It was crazy. You can’t make this stuff up.”

    Scott does PFK:

    https://twitter.com/NHL/status/693942954281537536

I was really touched when he went behind to bench and gave Chris Sutter a big hug.

Turns out that he was left off the MVP ballot by the league (they still don't get it) but people writing in made them back off. Pretty sure they didn't want to suffer another PR disaster.

I read that his helmet will be going to the HHOF. The league must be absolutely fuming.

  67. NHL now giving Scott the first star of the week. Is that organization that stupid that it doesn't realize how pathetic this looks?

Meanwhile, Scott making out like a bandit with talks of books and movies. If MB doesn't have the foresight (which is quickly becoming hindsight) to jump on the Scott bandwagon and call him up so he is at least closer to his family (never mind he might even be able to score a few goals where everybody else is failing), then I think all hope is lost with MB as GM. Quick MB, grab onto them coattails and enjoy the ride. Scott's a big boy and will have no trouble hauling your ass back to respectability. Oh and fire eMTy.
    Thanks.

    2. Hopefully DGMB reads some of the better Habs blogs because the LEAST the CH can do is give him some Bell Centre applause and show his wife and daughters and soon-to-be twin kids that there is a modicum of class left and give him some praise. Fuck, just call him up, you don't even have to play him. Give his beautiful pregnant wife some roses, give his gorgeous lil' gals some lifetime Bell Centre concert/show tickets. Even better, Marc Bergevin does this, himself, from centre ice, even if he has to eat a few boos. Wake me up.

  74. Why wouldn't John Scott be the ASG MVP? He scored two goals (tied with the most) and was the captain of the winning team. It actually just worked out that way, but could be a total win for the league. They seem to now be trying to retroactively jump on that bandwagon, but it's too late. But in the end, Scott's story would never have been this good with out a good villain.

Let's see if MB see a good marketing opportunity when one's right in front of him. The team obviously has nothing to lose and I would prefer Scott for a few games over DSP.
