  3. From last thread about draft position, Wilde tweeted - Reality is that Habs could be first or last 3 weeks from now. How crazy is that? 7 out of first. 9 out of last.

Habs fans talking a lot about the excitement of draft day. :) So here's how top 30 looks. We have a new number 1. http://www.mckeenshockey.com/draft/

I like either of those big Finnish kids, 6'-4" and over 200 lbs. If eMTy is still around when the Habs get either one he will make them a better person. They will lose their scoring abilities but they will be better people.

  5. Therrien has done nothing to help this team since Price has gone down...coaching by making your team hate you has a definite expiration date...Bergevin has done a great job putting the team together...the Canadiens are WAY better than they are playing. Therrien has shown no ability to adjust to the players he has and simply drives skilled players crazy....and we have seen this all before in Pittsburgh....

  6. Nice work moe.

If/when the Habs lose in Toronto on Saturday, they will be just 6 points ahead of them with 2 games in hand. Sigh. I've accepted the tanking, but I won't be able to handle the cat calls from leaf fans.

I need to just start watching curling more. It relaxes me. And it's the one sport where I don't necessarily need to have a favourite to enjoy the games. Take me away, Jennifer Jones.

  7. Everybody is quite excited in Halifax. IKEA is coming! IKEA is coming!
You'd think we were getting an NHL franchise with all the hype in the city today. And I mean a real franchise like the Hawks or Kings, not the Habs or leafs (yeah I went there...I am that bitter at MB right now).

There are 5 stages of grief... I am at the last stage, acceptance. I accept that failure is now an option.

    1. I will try to get there...but it's tough when my current 'diet' doesn't allow for alcohol consumption. I got about 10 lbs to drop by 'my' day so I can have some green beer and try the Liquormen's Ol' Dirty

  9. Great ones all 'round Moeman. The truth is out there - and we all know what it is...the Habs must not lose to the leaf under any circumstances - I don't want a 50 - 21 outshooting loss - I don't care how well or how badly they play - they must win at all costs! no excuses - just fucking win!

Since neither team could score in a Mexican cathouse, I suspect eMTy and Side Show Babs will take turns shooting pucks from center ice trying to hit the hole in the plywood targets they have for winning prizes during intermissions to settle the game. Either that or buttman will flip a coin to determine a winner.

  10. Since nothing else is making sense, I call a 7-3 Habs win tomorrow. GYFHG

    1. Like it! If the players are serious about turning it around and playing the right way it has to start tonight. They are playing the leaf and there will be no greater stain on their record if they were to lose to the leaf. Never has that "no excuses" motto meant more.

  11. @Saint Paddy re: Ikea

Seoul got one about 1.5 years ago. Mayhem. Prices marked up to 'local prices', aka unbeleivably overpriced. Local retailers taking them to court due to "creating unnecessary traffic problems". Korea does not have a long history of fair business practices. It's the only country in the world that Walmart failed in. Which would normally be a badge of honour, except they brought them here for a few years then the gov't banned them because whatever. Then a brand new retailer opened up its doors a few months later...in all the old Walmart locations...with all the old signs and everything. Brought to you by Samsung, one of the 5 companies that own everything in Korea (even apartments and pop!). Ikea will be E-kea within 5 years here, owned by Hyundai, and everything three times as much.

Then I move to China where the little city I live (9 million, which qualifies as a 'village' in China) has had an Ikea for years and it's no big deal. Which one is Communist again?

    1. I'm visiting Korea right now, and Netflix just came here. Everyone is so happy. Uh, you're in Korea. It's the fastest internet in the world that you get unlimited for $30 a month and they don't care about downloading. What's the difference? I would actually like it in China, where you have to go through 29 different hoops to check your facebook. Heck, I can't even check in here during games because my web of internet shields blocks you heathens but slows the game too much.

Speaking of which, there's been an ajumma (middle aged-Korean lady) screaming next door for literally 5 hours straight now. Who knew you had to move to China to get some piece and quiet.

Oh Korea, I almost forgot why I left you. Great food though.
