Once we have all digested this latest DGMB giveaway, it's time to regroup and remember one thing. The only thing that means anything is that they beat the leaf. Nothing else will do. No excuses. Just fucking win!
Back to the trade for a second...has any G M ever...anywhere in any league....spent more time and energy recruiting bottom 6 players or players destined to never play for the big club? And has any other team spent more money on flights for players to join the big club only to sit in the press box or on the bench for 54 minutes a game? If McCarron plays tonight the over/under on his toi is 12.45...and I'm taking the under!
And that's the thing Moeman...if they win a lot of the games they have left this season it could make it interesting as the playoffs get closer. Are they really out of it already then? Really?
I remember his dirty hit on PFK in the numbers into the boards season opener. There were tweets from everyone, everywhere postgame how he should be suspended then.
Not sure but I heard something on the radio this morning, the guy was saying what a slap in the face it would be for gCHyuk who was drafted to play centre and after 4 years is kept on wing if McCarron who was drafted as a winger ends up playing as a centre right away.
juce got it right. MB always said he wanted CHaracter in his players and Weise had it in spades. Sad to see this guy go. All it really says is MB and the Habs are sellers for sure, as noted by moe with the golfer picture. I'm OK with that, the math tells me they don't realistically have a shot so get the picks and play the youngsters. Just tell Empty and JJ Dummy to fuck off every time you step on and off the ice.
It will be interesting to see if MB can entice any high end UFA's to sign in Montreal in the off season. Somehow I highly doubt it. The players talk with each other. Tell me any player in his right mind will decide to play for the Line Blender no matter how much money Molson offers. Take Justin Williams (the eye remover specialist) for example. Montreal offered more money but he figured his center was either DD or Torrey Mitchell. Strangely he chose Nick Backstrom and a chance to play with the Great 8. Wake to fuck up Bergevin. That foxhole has to be getting stinky by now.
Did I mention I have homemade beans in the slow cooker?
Considering how that bitch Karma is taking out our dmen one by one since the Tinordi trade, it got me to wondering what happened to Jared Cowen? The Sens drafted him top 10, then he gets traded to the leafs and waived by the worse fucking team in the league (Oilers excluded they don't count as a real nhl team). Question is would he be worth picking up? I haven't paid enough attention to him - maybe he has no offense, is crap defensively, too soft, and overpaid? And if that's the case then fuck that. I just don't know what happened to him - never paid enough attention to the turds.
I know I swore off the Habs for Lent but since they are basically an AHL team now, and playing another one tonight, I wonder if it would be cheating if I snuck in a view tonight?
Calgary trades Hudler to the Panthers for picks. All the Canadian teams are selling in a race to the bottom. Rogers is gonna get fucked in the ratings this spring. Anybody care? Didn't think so.
That is to say, if they had no intention of re-signing Weise, at least they picked up something, I guess. Rumour his camp was asking for 4M but I'm sure that was just a starting point. Also the talk that this is his chance to get a contract for some decent money.
Haven't read through all the comments from the last 2 days, did we come up with a nickname for Danault? Dainty? Token Francophone to shut up the Journal de Montreal?
We can rip the shit out of MT2 the moron and question DGMB's weird behaviour of late but there is no denying this is the biggest moment of Danault's career. I hope he does very well.
Galchenyuk is one of the most skilled forwards Montreal has had in a long time. Maybe since Kovy? The coach should be feeding him big minutes but we know how that goes.
The only feed I could find tonight is in English. OMG - what a load of shit HNIC is! Wow! Just fucking win guys. GChuk looks to be getting decent minutes and the new French hope is gonna play 20 minutes at this rate...Is Patches even playing tonight? Time to step the fuck up Max!!Anyway - it's about 2 am so I am gone. Cheers all! Go You Fucking Habs Go!!
That last penalty when Gardiner cross-checked Lb in the back, it's a good thing there was a leaf on the board or he would have gone head first into the board and at that distance...dirty fucks.
Just saw the reply why PFK got the penalty, he put his stick near the ref's face. I guess he had to draw them a fucking picture of what the leaf did to him.
OK, before we all get too excited, as the Klingons would say: there was no honor or glory in beating that stripped down sad sack AHL leaf team. Holy fuck, the only two NHL players on that team were kadri the diver and ORReilly. And that's a stretch. The leaf have no shame and are doing their best to have a shot at Matthews.
As for the Habs, unless MB pulls off some miracle in the off season to get a couple of legitimate top 6 forwards their will be little to no progress for the Canadiens. They have 2.5 top 6 forwards as it stands, Max, gCHuk and kidG(A). The rest of them are all interchangeable spare parts. They are a soft team who are easily pushed around and every team in the league knows it. Plus, they are coached by an out-of-date relic with an antiquated system.
Sorry moe, once this west coast swing is over that should put any notion of the playoffs to rest.
I did like what I saw with McCarron tonight. He looked more confident than he did during that two game stint back in December, but as I said the leaf didn't offer much of a challenge. As for the newest kid, he will keep a certain vocal faction happy. He's not going to score much, maybe he will be another Benny Brunet?
Didn't realize it was also Plaid's first NHL point. D'Arche asked him what was with him and Kadri tonight, believe me, I'm on your side, I hate him too. Plaid said he was trying to start stuff and at one point the ref said the next one is gone and he let Kadri know that he was there.
Oh, and a big congratulations, he's getting married this summer.
All the talk about problems in the room, well if true, I think MT is a huge contributor to that. All the favouritism given to his golden child DDD and now giving Slot the starting line-up in his first game and the shitty treatment given to gCHyuk, Lego and PFK is certainly going to fester resentment among those who have it clearly have it rubbed in their faces. He has to be sent packing, he's already done too much damage.
Well we'll..looks like Max woke up for the third. Nice win against a shit team. This road trip will decide thinks once and for all. One game at a time everyone...one game at a time...
Sweet Ouellette leads Les Canadiennes over Toronto Furies, 7-1 last night and 5-1 the previous game. The win by Les Canadiennes clinched the best of three series at 2-0
The Carolina Hurricanes have traded their captain to the New York Rangers. In exchange, the 'Canes receive a pair of second-round picks and Finnish prospect Aleksi Saarela, according to TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger. The deal is subject to an official trade call.
Can we just tank with honour now? put gCHUck, pataches and Kid A al leave them be no matter what. gCHUuck wants the puck and the other two know what to do with it.
one of my fav shows is black sails. In it personal feeling trumph reality all the time in a worst case senario. I belive that is life. I believe that is why the druid had no choice but to wear the CH.
I love Lego cause its like Euro fantasy and metaphor for the better way, and Lego the hockey player is that. With a real coach he could be a consistant 20 goal scorer and a Carbo on D. But we have four or five prospects in the pipeline who can do what he does now just as well. So goodbye my old friend your plastic was hard and it did riun my teeth, but I loved to chew on you.
"The ugly". This brings me back to that podcast I posted from Haggerty where a Boston guy - Murphy - claimes to have 'facts' and 'sources' about the room. I'll take that from where it comes - Boston. Isn't Murphy who was giving 'play by play' during PFK's arbitration, even that he went to the bathroom?
Habs really screwed by the schedule maker this week. Tonight's tilt against the Sharks might be their best shot at a win since the Sharks played last night in Vancoover. The Ducks and Kings faced off against each other yesterday. Ducks next game: Wednesday vs the Habs. Kings next game Thursday vs the Habs. Meanwhile, the Jets are in the midst of a homestand not travelling at all this week. Habs in the Peg on Saturday.
For the boys to have a shot, they need to come away with AT LEAST 6 of 8 points. That and a fucking miracle. Meanwhile the Pens play 5 times this week...BUT the Wings play Dallas/Chicago/Chicago. There is a glimmer - a very slight glimmer, of hope.
Nice theory but you are forgetting something. The Habs are down their #3,4 and 5 defencemen, have two AHL goalies and just traded away two veterans to be replaced by two AHLers, one a 20 year old rookie. I'm not sure MB is done subtracting yet either. The math doesn't add up for me. Still, if they are going to play the kids I may tune in, after Easter of course...
Once we have all digested this latest DGMB giveaway, it's time to regroup and remember one thing. The only thing that means anything is that they beat the leaf. Nothing else will do. No excuses. Just fucking win!

ReplyDeleteNot sure but I heard something on the radio this morning, the guy was saying what a slap in the face it would be for gCHyuk who was drafted to play centre and after 4 years is kept on wing if McCarron who was drafted as a winger ends up playing as a centre right away.
DeleteWorse if the new kid Danault gets slotted to the centre spot on day one.
DeleteSo, having typed that, I suggest the nickname 'Slot'.

DeleteMcCarron and Danault in for the Habs tonight. This game just got a lot more interesting.
juce got it right. MB always said he wanted CHaracter in his players and Weise had it in spades. Sad to see this guy go. ReplyDeleteNope. Injury prone.
DeleteFrom what I read just a tall pylon. So, leaf and turds essentially traded pylons, Ottawa got the most expensive one.
DeleteYeah but Side Show was supposed to mold him into a great player.
DeleteI know I swore off the Habs for Lent but since they are basically an AHL team now, and playing another one tonight, I wonder if it would be cheating if I snuck in a view tonight?
