  4. I'm dialled into rds;

    - they begin their pre-game show saying that 'PK is wearing a Habs cap'
    - mostly balanced in the first few minutes (likely influenced by the presence of Jacques Demers)
    - gaston therrien suggesting michel therrien isn't all wrong
    - MT2 'was just mad'
    - Coach Demers says MT2 made an error
    - Pierre LeBrun; 'no change Habs aren't moving PFK', says DGMB being asked about CHip, Gilbert, Yeats, Lb, (Y), a bit on Lego

I've been reading some of the comments over at HI/O, apparently somebody named Rejean Tremblay penned a very controversial column today, accusing Gainey and Gauthier of eradicating francophones from the Canadiens lineup. I don't know this guy but he sounds like a bitter follower of the late Mssr. Parizeau.

This PK vs Therrien firestorm seems to be getting out of hand.

  17. People are starting to notice Brian Wilde. Just the facts.

"Michael Blinn: I’m not sure the success really belongs to Therrien. Losing Carey Price for the majority of the season has been one long, painful band-aid removal that’s showing just how bad of a coach Therrien is–CTV’s Brian Wilde makes it pretty clear that the Habs coach is straight-up ignoring what works. I can only assume he’s feeling the heat and trying to pass it on to his best player in a shallow attempt to save his own hide. There’s a whole lotta excuses for what’s going wrong in Montreal this season, and with the exception of Price’s injury, everything points to Therrien’s failings. Call this season what it is (a wash), fire Therrien, get a lottery pick and come out guns blazing next season."

  44. Regarding Deadpool/Morena Baccaran,

Yes indeed the M! Gotham is a fantastic imagining of the young Bruce Wayne and birth of those familiar villains we all know and love. Having Ms Baccaran on the cast doesn't hurt...I was curious how old she is (first saw her in Firefly and was awestruck...even Mrs Pad said she would have hooked up with that 'companion'!)... anyway she's 36, in the middle of a nasty divorce and 8 months pregnant with a child with the aforementioned Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Not that i'm infatuated or anything.

More than $10 million was paid to teams in the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Association (NBA), National Hockey League (NHL), and Major League Soccer (MLS). And at least $6.8 million tax dollars went to pay sports franchises to spread pro-military propaganda."

"Downright corruption was also documented in some cases, with the military buying luxury seats at sports games for officers and soldiers. The Air Force paid the Cincinnati Bengals for 60 club-level tickets. On a military appreciation night, the National Guard paid the Boston Bruins for a luxury box for 18 people and an executive view suite for 25 people. The National Guard also paid the Indianapolis Colts for a luxury suite, autographed items, pre-game field visits, and cheerleader appearances."

Bargain Basement Bergy will be selling next Monday, book it. So long, CHip, Yeast and T.G. (Y) might be of interest to a contender with lots of Russians, say like Washington. Wait! How did the Russians manage to invade D.C.? Things sure have changed since the end of the Cold War.

I expect Timmins to have a boatload of picks this June.

PFK for Taylor Hall, Darnell Nurse and a swap of 1st round picks. Would you do it? My head tells me "in a New York minute". My heart says fuck that, PFK is a dynamic, bigger than life, supremely skilled player that the NHL should be promoting like LeBron James. But nope, the old white establishment sees him as a flamboyent dressing diver. Idiots.

    2. The big problem we have is two NHL stars and a bunch of CHaracter. I would make that trade but Edm would not. Its useless to have stallions and make them pull a milk wagon. We will never win anything but a two round playoff run with that system.

Steve you nailed it. The Habs have two highly skilled players (PFK and gCHuk) who are muzzled and neutered by "The Process". The rest of the bunch are check first and ask questions later guys. Sad, really. Bargain Bergy has years of work in front of him, if he survives. Larry Brooks wasn't out of place calling him a bystander for the last 3 months. He had to know Price was out long term and basically did nothing unless trading for an AHL goalie with a losing record from a team in California is considered "doing something". Can't acquire a RW? Fine, tell the idiot behind the bench to pick somebody on the farm and PLAY THEM! Live with the mistakes. Let them learn. If you are going to fail anyway, which they have, get some benefit from it.

Sorry for the rant, it's been frustrating watching this tragicomedy unfold before my eyes. This is worse than the Goat/Cunney season and that's saying something.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Steve, there is absolutely no downside to DDD not being in the lineup...none whatsoever. Club doctors should take every single precaution known to mankind to ensure that his injury is completely healed before allowing him to return to light skating duties (I'd add with limited physical contact but that is something he's actually very adept at doing all by himself). Rushing him back into the team would be a mistake on Priceian proportions. Make sure he has complete mobility and has at least a month of complete bed rest before allowing him to come back to the team's training facility in Brossard, where a few weeks of light skating and mobility training (no equipment) could then be followed up with a period of rest and repair before finally coming back in full equipment (but still no contact) for another couple of weeks. Mid to late April/early May would be the absolute earliest I could see him even contemplating a very limited return to full contact training with the team. So he really should look at setting his sights for the Coyotes Training Camp in September...

No cheap shots just hits to the head. This morning the discussion about how DDD hurts the team was great. Also the absoulute disaster that is our player development program. One common factor is both limits to success is the hand of eMTy. However I would not bet against him being back next year. DGMB reamins convinced that a Choucula like but dummer coach creates a process that leads to a cup.

However his lyrics elevate his total package like no delivery humanity has seen before. Sometimes this makes me a bit of a hypocrite. For example for obvious reasons I have to cheer for ISIS. What blows me away more than the Grateful Dead Sticter on the back of a Caddilac is fundementalist judges quoting Bob Dylan. I say stop trying to pull Bob Dylan into the whole your in.
