    3. Given all the shit DDD and MT and DGMB have taken in the press in the last couple of weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't actually injured. A "Lower Body injury" can be anything from a fucked up knee (see TFS) to a bent and bruised cock (see DDD + MT) - so the fact that they've put a boot on his foot means fuck all. It takes the pressure off of MT, you get a natural switching of the lines without anyone being able to say they forced his hand. The Pierre Gauthier Habs of a few years ago never rally went away - they just hid at the back of the Bell Centre until they were needed...

    4. you may be on to something, K3X. A lower body injury could involve an ingrown toenail, or a planter's wart, or perhaps a case of the clap.

Oh, there's a game? Maybe I can last past the 2nd this time around. I know there's a lot of hate on DDD but, come on, he's the only guy who had PatCHes score friggin goals man...I know he's not a #1 but I feel bad for the guy. He's being put in that position because of a bad situation.

  4. Sorry Hadulf, but DDD has done nothing for Patches lately. Patches has scored 2 goals in the past 12 games, one without Davey on the ice, and the other I think was a PP goal and Davey didn't have an assist on the play.

I'm not saying DDD is the only reason for Patches' suckiness of late, but he certainly ain't helping.

    1. Definitely not helping lately, I totally agree. And he's been playing poorly (like the rest of the team, except Lb). I just don't think he deserves all the shit he's getting more than anybody else on the team. They're all sucking the big dick.

As usual J.T. nails it. I watched the Habs win championships starting in 1968. No Habs fan wants the Canadiens to tank for a draft pick but we have been forced into this position by inept management, poor player deployment and bad coaching. What are we supposed to do, smile and blindly cheer? Screw that.

  13. Melnick on a rant that someone in the room is pointing a finger at PFK as a way to cover his own ass. Whoever it is, is really low.

Says if the organization (I surmise MT, but that`s just me) is trying to get PK traded they better be damn careful and said how the Expos traded Gary Carter because they didn`t like his `style`either, told fans that Carter asked to be traded but that was not true and they never recovered, Carter was the reason his new team went on to win. So, he went on, if you don`t like PK because of the triple-low five, his archer celly or his purple fedora, you better think long and hard.

    1. Nilan earlier today said who knows, maybe someone (I think I heard him say DDD?) did it to say, `look you see, it`s not MT that`s the problem, it`s PK`

    2. I'll speculate and say it is the Peter-principled Daigneault. Never liked him and even less so now. Can't help run the D. Can't help run the PP. Only excuse he has to still have a job is either MT2 or DGMB or a combination of both. I don't like him one bit.

It broke my heart when the Expos traded Gary Carter. He WAS the Expos, the first superstar player to be drafted and developed by them. The Habs better not trade PK, the ONLY true superstar they have had since LaFleur. I'm not counting goalies because they can't impact a game like a skater can. If he is, I think my days as a Follower of the NHL will be over. Also, I'll know for sure there are behind the scene forces (RDS, TVA) you name it, who will do anything to protect their own and fuck ever having a winning team again.

    8. tva and rds have been the biggest PFK slaggers. He's made mistakes on the ice like all Habs have done but they just can't help themselves. Add to that the disgusting drunken slur that mario tremblay put out there. No one is ever bigger than the team but if I am PFK I go to DGMB and let him know that his pal MT2 is a fuckwad and for the sake of icing on the season's shit cake, mention that no matter what JJ says, I'll do the opposite.

    9. Wow, I was quite surprised to see Benoit Brunet defend PK, said are if PK`s personality is affecting the way the team plays, then the players lack character and the leadership or the organisation, coaches etc... need to do their part, said PK always brings it, they give him huge minutes, so what is the problem. D`'arche also defended him and they both said too much is being made of it and people who are not in the room are doing all the talking.

I thought the last guy (before PK came along) who "got" what it meant to be a Hab was Mike Cammallari aka Squid. He was genuinely proud to put on that jersey and knew what it meant. Prust was someone else. I don't think Max feels that way. I think he feels like he got shafted by the team because he signed that bargain deal and is bitter about PK's megabucks contract. Hence the possible animosity between them. PK and Gallagher are probably the only two who care about what's going on.

Had class all day (and I mean aaaaaaaallllll day), finally get home with a couple of beers and tasty dinner. Have to fight with GC to get it started for 15 minutes, as per usual. Everything is ok, although crappier quality than most nights. Then it just stops working. I literally just spent over an hour trying my hardest to watch the last 5 minutes of the game. Restart internet, restart VPN, restart computer, try jumping around on the feed (earlier parts played just fine, but would NOT play the last 5 minutes).

I decided to make this my Waterloo, I will spend until 2am waiting for this to work on principle. Then I realize, "Wait, they're going to give up a goal and lose. Who cares?" and right then the video finally starts up and the Avs immediately score.

I guess it was a lesson in accepting fate. But still, the new GC fucking sucks. Almost as hard as the Habs.

    1. That foxhole comment took me aback at the time. Did he feel under fire? Are the two in on a big cover-up over the decision to bring back TFS before his knee was 100% and they are both to blame for it getting worse? There is more to come on this.

      Delete
  47. Okay, the move PK made was one he usually executes; however they were pressing for some offense, his GM has told them he wants them to play to win, (not "play to not lose"), and FFS he lost an edge and there were three competent players and some measure of a goalie back there to bail him out. Now, looking at the whole season, I haven't seen PK play as non-chalantly and get as few minutes a game as these last two. In fact Vodkov was their best D-man last night. But eMTy showed his unfortunate anti-PK bias in a rather uncool moment. Poor judgment is piling on for this coach. He needs to go now.

  48. "Subban's used to this.

A lightning rod for criticism, Subban took the heat from his head coach Michel Therrien on Wednesday, after a late turnover cost the Montreal Canadiens at least a point in the standings as they fell 3-2 to the Colorado Avalanche.

"An individual mistake cost us the game," Therrien said.

Subban, as expected, took his leader's comments in stride.

"I've always had a huge target on my back," he said, according to La Presse's Marc Antoine Godin. "I expect it to be a huge story about the play that happened on the ice (Wednesday). I expect all that stuff. When you're the highest paid guy on the team, you make a lot of money and you speak your mind; people are going to have an opinion on you and that's fine.

"I just want to compete and be the best player I can be every night. I also understand that not every night is going to be your night. Sometimes the bounces aren't going to go your way."

It hasn't been the Canadiens' night in a long time; the bounces haven't been going their way for months.

Subban was benched after the turnover, spending the final two minutes of the game on the bench with his team down a goal. As Montreal's season spirals away, Wednesday's happenings may be looked back upon if and when the Canadiens miss the playoffs, or if and when Therrien is relieved of his duties.

Subban leads the Canadiens in scoring, with 44 points in 58 games. He also leads the club in ice time, at 25:59 a game. When you're out there that often, things can sometimes go wrong. It could be argued the defender's trying to do too much on the ice, but with Montreal reeling, options are slim.

Points wise, Subban has been more than solid since the calendar turned to 2016. He has four goals and 14 assists in 19 games in the new year."

Fans can boo if they want, they pay your salary, Therrien so just shut the fuck up, ever consider the fans were booing YOU and YOUR decisions?

What happened to your speech 'we win as a team and we lose as a team? Doesn't apply when PK's involved? Where the hell was Patcioretti instead of covering his man going back to the net? Down a goal and you nail PK to the bench? Yet all season, you don't do that to DDD. What's wrong with this picture, Bergevin? Open your fucking eyes.

  62. From TSN:

"Canadiens fans have been up in arms with Subban’s play of late."

A few days ago I scoured the internet for everything Habs, to get a feeling for what fans were thinking. Not just the usual places, but I googled random blogs and even ended up on reddit at one point. Not once did I see anything even suggesting negative things about PK's play. Yeah, there were the few regular coded "He's too bl...uh...flashy!" type stuff here and there, and even some hold outs who still defended MT (with no mention of PK). Yet TSN has somehow decided that Hab fans are 'up in arms' over his play? The leading scorer of the team? The only guy who shows heart (besides Gallagher)?

The SotU mediots have finally realized their prey is injured and have decided to pounce. They will do their part to rip this team apart. Not that it needs much help.

MT needs to shut his ugly mouth and go rub DDD's sore foot. The good news is that I never believed that he was gone after this season. I think even Molson has to have taken notice of the poison that is the coach now. I actually seriously don't don't that MB would choose Therrien over PK, but I don't believe Molson would ever let that happen.

Then again no one could have imagined the Habs would have traded Roy.

  64. I recently watched The Purge. Premise, while initially intriguing, doesn't hold up to an ounze of scrutiny. So all crime is legal for 12 hours, and everyone just decides to hack each other to death? No one goes and takes all the money? And I'm sorry, but...rape? There'd be lots of rape. And like, if you steal during the Purge, can you still get arrested for stolen property the next day. Oh, and you're going to watch your neighbour rape your wife and kill your kids, and then what? Carpool with him the next day? And all this just to keep society safe the other 364 days a year? Wouldn't it take months, if not years, to recover from this purge? Towns would burn down, businesses would be completely destroyed, important and smart people would be murdered. How does this help the economy, exactly? Oh, and everyone is going to sit around until exactly 7pm to start shooting, and stop right at 7am? Why? Who would know if it was 5 minutes before/after? And isn't most crime out of passion, opportunity or even mental illness? Would the guy who caught his wife with another dude really wait 3 months for the purge? Would a crazy mass shooter who kills himself afterwards care about 'getting away with it'? Would act civilly to the people who killed your family all year and wait till the next purge to get revenge? But it all goes back to the fact that I don't think the majority of people would actually straight up axe someone to death just because it was legal. Rob a convenience store, sure. Take out a whole apartment block with arson? Errrrr....

IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE MAN!

But anyway, I bring this up because if the purge was a thing I think Therrien would need extra security that night. Just make sure they're not Hab fans.

I've been out all morning and just getting caught up... great comments all around. I would like to add - if you will all recall back to the selection of Team Canada for the Sochi Olympics, fuckface was asked about PK being selected and basically refused to endorse him at all. I just listened to Hayes and O'Neill discussing what happened last night. They said that Therrien's benching of PK last night was a Junior coach move. I don't like you so I'm going to bench you. They can't fire this fucking clown fast enough.

Just nine seconds later Iginla scored his first goal of the night to give the Avalanche the lead (Eller didn’t reference this when he referred to playing 58 minutes of good hockey only to lose on a late “mistake”)."

    1. THE UGLY

Michel Therrien. Mired in a free fall of historic proportion Therrien decides to single out Subban 24 hours after Ron Fournier tells his considerable radio audience there is a major rift in the Habs room and it’s because of Subban. What an act of coaching cowardice.
Subban smear campaign. It’s on. Big time. Over 30 years ago, when it became obvious that baseball’s Team of the 80s had fallen short, ownership, management and some players pointed at the team’s most popular player as the source of the downfall. Charles Bronfman said giving Gary Carter a new multi-million dollar contract was the biggest mistake he ever made. President John McHale said the Expos dealt Carter to the Mets because the all star catcher had asked to be traded (total bullshit). Players whispered that the clubhouse had become fractured because “Gary Carter was all about Gary Carter”. I saw it go down firsthand. In his second year in New York Carter played a huge role in the Mets world series win. Expos fans were left with Hubie Brooks, Mike Fitzgerald, Herm Winningham, Floyd Youmans and nearly a decade of shitty baseball. This is beyond finger pointing. In addition to blaming Subban for being who he is (loud, brash, cocky) and what he is (which includes hockey champion) they’re trying to run him out of town to cover their own unproductive asses. We knew Carey Price was the glue that kept this team together. What we didn’t know was that he also cemented it.

  80. Is it just me or does this thing remind anybody else of the Tremblay/Roy incident? Even before the Roy incident, I wasn't a fan of Tremblay and thought he exuded an air of arrogance behind the bench, much like we're seeing now. I pray to the Forum Ghosts that Molson/Bergevin wouldn't dare make the same mistake. So the only other option is FIRE THERRIEN! They cannot be blind to what's happening. Can they? While it's been refreshing hearing the CotU media taking PK's side and calling out eMTy for last night, I'm not a fan of the Habs being in the spotlight for these fucking soap opera reasons. That's some other team, not the class of the NHL - the Habs. WTF has happened?

He makes very good points, he knows that he can walk in there because he did not act based on emotions but based on facts, such as the stats on DDD, said he never said DDD was shit, the facts said it and if you think those facts are shit, then change them. If you listen, it starts around the 9 or 10min mark.

  85. Here's my new prediction...The Habs will lose tonight (Friday) and it will then give DGMB the weekend to change his mind and sack MT - he won't have a choice as the team will be sent off the ice to a chorus of boos and debris will rain down on the Bell Centre Ice...or...PFK will play the most awesome 32 minutes of hockey we have seen this year, be "la premiere etoile" and then he'll rally the troups when he gets interviewed by the Renauld Lavoie (or whatever his name is) at Centre Ice. Trust me - one of those two things will happen...

"L’œuvre d’éradication des frogs entreprise par Bob Gainey et Pierre Gauthier avec Trevor Timmins comme homme de main, a obtenu la solution finale. Des francophones, il n’y en avait plus dans l’équipe pour cette défaite."

    Loose translation:
There wasn't a single francophone in the lineup in Colorado Wednesday.
The goal to eradicate frogs undertaken by Gainey and Gauthier with Timmois as their henchman has been attained, there was not a single francophone left when they lost.

    2. It's strange really because just a week or so ago the Antichambre had a segment about how there are less and less francophone players in the NHL and they had a table showing the number of players there were in consecutive years pointing out that among those there are vets who have been around awhile such as Bergeron etc... So I guess there must be a conspiracy league wide to 'eradicate frogs' from hockey altogether then. And what disgusting choice of words.

    2. Actually - Patches is probably the only player the Habs have that would net them a worthwhile return. he has a cap friendly contract and he has been playing "sof" for a while now - He's the Captain but he's not the star and that is never a good combo to have. There would be some concern about the Habs trading a captain but a lot less uproar then if they traded PFK. I don't see it happening before the end of the season but that is a scenario I can still see happening.

Didn't watch the game but I saw the replay on His Flashyness's blown tire and that will happen. It appeared more that Grigorinko got a poke check more than His Flashyness fucking up ( which he does all the time ) but the thing that got me was that Jerome was alone in front because Patches stopped back checking turned his back on the play and left His Man alone in front. So who fucked up here besides Little Boy MT2.0 ? Our Captain. That's who.
