  1. Previous comments on last thread about the refs....all warranted and the truth was said. Paid for by Buttman to justify his rinks where no snow exists.

  2. Therrien on his bench minor: "Our player took 12 stitches; I can't stand behind the bench and not let (the refs) hear about it."

Therrien on Pacioretty going after Cogliano for boarding Pateryn: "Max did the right thing on a bad judgment call by the refs."

  5. The good thing about these annual West Coast trips is that they start far too late for me to even worry about staying up to watch. Last night looked like they played a decent enough game but man oh Man did Lego ever blow that sitter in OT. No excuses - he should have made the shot. Let's hope for a good showing again tonight - Just Fucking Win!!

  8. "Devils rookie Joe Blandisi was fined $2,000 by the NHL today for his second embellishment infraction of the season. Blandisi, 21, received a warning after being penalized for embellishment on Feb. 16 against Philadelphia when he was slashed from behind by Flyers defenseman Andrew MacDonald. He received the second embellishment minor after drawing an interference minor on Rangers defenseman Dylan McIlrath on Feb. 23.

Blandisi is the third Devil to be fined for embellishment this season, joining Bobby Farnham and Jordin Tootoo, who both have been fined once. A fourth player fine would mean an automatic $2,000 fine for head coach John Hynes.

***In addition, right wing Devante Smith-Pelly was also fined $2,000 for embellishment for two infractions that took place when he was with the Canadiens.

Smith-Pelly, who was acquired Monday in a trade for left wing Stefan Matteau, was issued a warning following an incident flagged by NHL
Hockey Operations during a Dec. 22 game against Minnesota. His second citation, which triggered the $2,000 fine, was issued for an incident at 6:16 of the second period against Washington on Feb. 24. Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom received a minor penalty for slashing on the play.

Since both of Smith-Pelly's citations occurred while he was playing for the Canadiens, his fine will count against Montreal's total and will not impact Hynes." ***

Does anyone find the timing of this at all suspicious given that MT told the ref to fuck off last night? (MT's words, not mine this time.)

Over at HI/O Mr. Boone mentions the new line of McM, Lego and gCHuk looked really good last night in Anaheim. What I have noticed is as soon as any line combo looks like it is developing any chemistry the Buffoon breaks it up. Unless it is Max and Wee Davey, they are joined at the hip. I'd love to see BB move that par in the offseason for a bunch of 5th round picks, just so he can draft some more 4th line grinders.

  47. Yet again first two periods wonderful stream by gamecenter. Right when the 3rd starts it goes to shit, I get to see about 58 seconds of it total. Which is probably a good thing.

Can't wait for all the not-think pieces after the game about how Hockey Canada (brought to you by Trump's America) was right not to pick PK.

    1. He simply fell. Of course there will be no mention of Doughty on Lego's goal and that he should still win the Norris.

      Delete
    2. Of course, tsn writes
"But Subban coughed up the puck at the red line with the Habs pressing for the tying goal, and King went in alone on Scrivens before beating him between the pads..."

Conveniently omitting that he fell leaving readers with the impression that he 'coughed up' the puck.

  48. Been a while since we've seen PFK drop a bomb like that. So that was nice of him.

Matteau seems like a softy to me. Danault looks ok. Why is Lessio not dressed? This Brown guy cannot play hockey. I appreciate his shoulders but, you can't pass with shoulders.

    Mexican't in Ottawa? WTF

This west coast masacre is something to watch I tell ya. I pretty much watched all the games except yesterday, I passed out from boredom.

    2. Yes, was pretty good. CH gave them a good fight. Can't believe the Pateryn hit was uncalled. He was clearly shoved from behind...right in front of the friggin ref. I was going crazy!

      Delete
    3. Oh, and Pateryn is so ready for NHL. He's been rock solid. Minus a few turnovers that were dangerous in the D zone, he's solid. He's being used in every situation. Even saw him on the PP for a few seconds which was nice. This guy is ready.

      Delete
    4. Yes, Plaid is solid, likely why he was Luchicen's target all night and the ref should only have sent him to the box for going after Plaid after he made a legal check on another LA player.

  52. ""It's unfortunate," head coach Michel Therrien said after the game, according to TSN's John Lu. "P.K. lost an edge; those things happen. It wasn't his fault."

Subban had a goal and an assist and played a game-high 28:48. But nobody will be talking about that."

Given the relationship, I doubt MT was defending PFK, I think it was a direct dig using PFK's own words "lost an edge" when he threw him under the bus.

I didn't realize that PatCHes lost a skate blade beginning of the 1st.
