  1. If that's the Easter Bunny, I'm staying up late tonight to catch a glimpse of her eggs.

Looking forward to the M's non-spoiler review of B vs S. The more I see of GG as WW, the more she is growing on me. *I always thought Jessica Biel would have made a good WW. Also, I know my wife, though she really dislikes most of the superhero stuff because there's just too much of it, she and my daughters for some reason are really looking forward to seeing Jason Mamoa as Aquaman.

Oh yeah, and is there still hockey? Meh.

Non-spoilery (and brief) review of Batman vs Superman. Bottom line, it's good, it has kind of a Watchmen feel to it but that's Zac Snyder. It's a little more Batman-centric but that's OK because we already had Henry Cavill's Man of Steel and Ben Affleck redeems himself from the previous Daredevil disaster and nails Frank Miller's grim, merciless middle-aged Batman from The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. Takes a bit of time to build up to the two epic battles, Batman vs Superman and the Trio against Doomsday (love Wonder Woman who takes great joy in the fight) and the surprise ending. There a few plot holes but nothing that takes away from the overall feel of the movie.

St. Paddy, tell your wife and daughters not to blink or they might miss Jason Momoa.

The CBC film critic gave it 3 out of 5 stars, I'd give it 4 but I'm a biased comic book fan.

My Sea Dogs win 4-2 and take a 2-0 series lead against the Bathurst Titan in the opening round of the QMJHL playoffs. The series is being covered by Rogers TV, at home and on the road. They have a cute commercial which says : "No Canadian teams in the playoffs? Well, get some poutine, roll up your touque, get some maple syrup and tune in to all the Canadian teams playing in the QMJHL playoffs." Hell yeah, only I prefer Moosehead beer to the maple syrup. And fuck you Gary.

Side note to HF29, there is a young defenceman playing for Bathurst with the last name Brisebois. I checked and he was drafted last year by Vancouver. I think GMMB should trade DDD and a smoked meat sandwich for this kid. The Habs could use another Breezer don't you think?

  34. Bab$ should get fined for calling out the refs.

"After the game, Babcock said the officials must have received a memo about Kadri four games ago, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, asking them not to call penalties on infractions against the Maple Leafs forward, who opposing teams love to hate."

    Hey, Bab$, he's a diver.

I am mellow about this season, it cant be worse so I just hope for some offseason sanity

  36. the Maritimer12:21 PM

I agree, there is no reason to dwell on this lost season any more. It's done, and there are 3 things we can all hope for:

    1) eMpTy and his incompetent cronies plus the ones in St. John's are immediately fired.
    2) They get a damn good draft pick.
    3) Carey Price comes back 100% healthy.

In my humble opinion this whole mess is squarely on Bergevin's shoulders. He could have helped his team when they realized Price was done but chose not to. He quit on the team so his players (leaders) quit on him. He is now looking at a smoldering pile of rubble, it'll be interesting to see how he proceeds from here. His post-mortem should be spellbinding.

    1. I whole-heartedly agree. In my most tinfoil-hat way, I kind of think all the Canadian teams in the play-offs last year irked Buttman to such a degree he as much as decreed to make it as hard as possible for any Canadian team to succeed this year, just to see how the US TV ratings would compare to last year. And the Canadian GMs (or at least, their mayor) are in on it, and told the fix is in, and the draft lottery will go their way.

    2. the Maritimer3:38 PM

When this season is over the bottom 7 teams in the NHL will be the 7 Canadian teams with one possible exception - Columbus. Buffalo will pass both Ottawa and Montreal in the standings the next two weeks. Book it. This can't be a coincidence anymore than no Canadian team winning a Cup in the last 23 years. It is the Will of Bettman.

  37. lets make sure we get a good look at DDD these last few games, after all there must be something we do not know about him.

Ice time last night: DD 18:12; Galchenyuk 15:19.
    Discuss…

Noted playmaker David Desharnais on the season: two(!) power-play assists in 59 games. Time on PP last night: 5:55.

eMTy knows his time is almost up and is going to give his boy every last minute of ice time before his last season in the NHL is over. DDD will be bought out and playing in the Swiss A league next year. There is not another GM or pro scout in the NHL who thinks he can. Wee Davey's time is up.

    4. Seriously, he said people merely forget what DDD brings because of his absence while injured and are looking at the new guys but who will replace him when the other guys are gone, the Habs have no one to equal what he does, they need more 'good' players, not more 'bad' players.

I think he's ok on the 3rd-4th line but should not leading the PP and certainly should not be put in a 'comfortable' position to the detriment of other players' development which we have all seen.

  44. Listening on he radio, I was reminded of something I wanted to post on the weekend. During the post game, someone on 690 asked MT that at one point McM was on the PP and never went back, why didn't he like that 'look'? MT asks what do you mean? reporter explains and MT says something about another player there (I forget who). Then back in the TVA studio, Bossy immediately goes off on a tangent, saying you can just see MT's face everytime anglophone media asks him a question, Morisette (I think it was) says, no wonder, they have an agenda to get him fired. I think that was quite out of line and totally unprofessional.

  48. Ironic that Bab$ is defending Kadri and saying OK, the refs taught him a lesson over the last 4 games but get over it and move on, call the infractions against him, yet he STILL holds his own biased perception about PFK and PFK was singled out by the refs for years. Live with it and see how it feels Bab$, what goes around...

Reading some of eMpTy's answers to the media today after practice... that creep's arrogance knows no bounds apparently.

It will be one happy day when and if he gets canned.

It will be beyond sickening (to me anyway) if MB gives him another chance. It would be a long, long stretch until I got to watch my team again.
