The Jean Béliveau Trophy awarded to P.K. Subbanhttp://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=873075
One of P.K.’s greatest assets is his capacity to use his personality and his enthusiasm to rally the public around the projects he supports. A man of his time, P.K. shines on social media, multiplying his initiatives to raise awareness, reach out to individuals and engage the community. The press conference announcing his $10 million pledge provided the Hospital and its Foundation with tremendous exposure, with media coverage from coast to coast, throughout the United States and all the way to Europe. It also significantly increased their Instagram and Twitter followers and Facebook community. The video of P.K.’s Winter Wonderland surprise party, organized in collaboration with the Air Canada Foundation, for 50 young patients and their families did much to raise awareness about the cause of sick children.Hey, MT, maybe PFK can make you a 'better person', nah, there's no hope for you.
Tank it! That is all.
You know, I not-so-secretly wish for a tank. But when I watch the game, I want them to win. Bipolar much?
Our hearts and heads are fighting with each other.
Sometimes we have to endure some pain in order to get better. Like General Douglas MacArthur "I will return" when the present coach is no longer doing so. I'm a very patient guy, I can wait.I think I have that Serge Savard/Doug Risebrough card. It looks familiar.
I have em' all.
Another broon goes unsuspended.
Hi everyone! miss me? I missed you, been taking a break from the tanking / gCHuk arrival. I'm much happier Had to share my favourie TSN.ca headline in years which I just saw:"Dreger: Not much interest in Desharnais"NO FUCKING WAY. Can you believe that??? ;)I should watCH tonight. been too long. A bientôt
Ironic thing is, it took them as long as MT to figure that out.
two words for DDD. "Growth Homrmone". Look what it did for Tin Tin.
He's alive! (thought CSIS nabbed our internet lawyer dude)
Time for a new avatar in the spirit of today's thread
crap it's cutting off the hockey card part
How about this?
Last one's good.
if I change mine Lego is toast
Might watch a bit to night to see Chucky in action. He is fun to watch.Started watching Blunt Talk last night. Sir Patrick Stewart at his absolute best! He said in a little promo he's done things in the past 10 weeks filming that show he wouldn't do alone in the darkest room of his house. If you haven't seen it, get the free month of Shomi just for Blunt Talk and The League. So long as you like wry, raunchy (yet very clever) humour that is.go habs. i guess. or don't. whatever.
"whatever" describes my feelings exactly
ps just a week til your big day Saint Paddy!
Yes 29, I planned to take Thursday/Friday off, but I have meetings scheduled all day Thursday I can't miss and a report due on Friday. So Saturday the 19th I'm curling all day. Bar opens at 9am. I'll be making up for lost time. Might be in the dark room under the concussion protocol by noon.
St. Pad, zero imbibing on the 17th? Zero?
Me too 29. It was time anyway.
I have most of the Canadiens team sets of cards starting from the 1970-71 season. The 1971-72 set with the Lafleur and Dryden rookies are among my prized possessions. That and my autographed Beliveau 1971 OpeeChee card. It sure would be nice to have some players of that caliber again. Not in Buttman's NHL though.Man, the new Captain America Civil War trailer released today just kills it. I am stoked for that movie. My youngest son, home from university for March Break, can't wait either. It has become a family tradition for us to go to the Marvel movies together. I still enjoy it.
Got all those (collected from 70-77).Also a huge binder of Patrick Roy cards, including three rookies.
Hey Moeman...I had that Lemaire card when was a kid. I remember it well. Used to love collecting cards...the taste and smell of stale, flat bubblegum will never leave you. As for tonight...Just fucking win!
That gum got hard, real fast!
I think 'Coco' Lemaire is sporting a (semi bad) rug in that hockey card pic.
NHL: Habs didn't act inappropriately by trading Tinordi"After receiving several media inquiries, Daly said in the statement Thursday that NHL teams are not privy to drug-testing results or the process until a final determination has been made."
CHili and a smooth Kilkenny (in honour of St. Pad's March 17th sobriety).
When we are trying to make the playoffs Lego cant get out of the box. Now when we are trying to tank, eMTy makes him play with a sucking chest wound.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
No HAB No, tank for Terrien. Even DGMG would not want him in the foxhole with a first overall. Sory kid you need another two years of jr at least/
Too fucking hard for MT2 to bother clapping.
Congrats PFK, well done!
what frigging blind camera man pans away from Sara?
GYFHG! i guess
srsly Sara was delightful
I have noticed young girls grow up in the most delightfull way as well:)
are there like a lot of empty seats in the reds? boy it seems quiet in there
who's playing? who's injured? i am SO out of the loop
e.g. who is "Mike Brown"?
fromer leaf tough guy 30 with a cement head but reasonable wheels
yes thanks steve! rings a bell now. Im blotting everything out of my head apparently. it helps
juce gave me a + for nicknaming Danault PhD (h for habs). Matteau has no nick yet, I'll call Brown, 'Mr.' (see http://bloodygta.wikia.com/wiki/Mr._Brown).
Surprisingly, vs Stars, hits were 40 for the Habs vs 26 for the Stars, Brown had 9.
I forgot to mention he has a pornstauche
well we're skating well. not having watched the last 4-5 games, that's something
oh yeah, now that we are out of the playoffs everybody is playing their best hockey.
Sheik, stay in your net.
Sheik go for a walkaboout, the crowd will be impressed
well we're not losing after 1, that's something.
I say lets make it exciting, have both coaches agree, next two periods pull the goalie.
PFK seems to be playing meekly tonight.
the ridft is so big, Patches wont even take a pass from PFK
Imagine if he had any CHemistry with PatCHes?
gCHuck, more proof he is no good at center
good think gCHuk was getting all that rest during all that losing so he could be fresh for this running out the season
All about MT2 coaching the young players, dontCHaknow.
EmpTy must be burning inside but post-game he'll take all the credit.
Since Nov. 25, 2015, Montreal the absolute worst team in the entire league. That can't be all on Carey Price can it? Wouldn't the coach have to take some responsibility for that record?
Brown sent to the room because his hand is bleeding.
Cash it, damnit.
gCHuck upping his trade value to make room for DDD
gCHuk for McJesus straight up.
eMpTy is gonna bench him if doesn't cut it out. Isn't he supposed to place defence first?
Wonder if PFK offered Tremblay a ride to the Bell Centre.
Why doesn't Gionta go the box for his chop?
yes Bartley refused to let the tank die
Twice tonight, a Hab taps his stick but they don't pass it.
Shit, as the PP ends.
Screw you Gionta, you should have been in the box.
pull the goalie we need sievens to close this deal
put DDD out in his walking cast
I want to see hats on the ice.
Buffalo is so poor they cant afford color for the goalie helment painting
Sara Diamond will take your call, FHommes.
I am sure glad based upon his play tonite we did not get Kane. However Mariontio said he was out until 130 and left with company last night. Which I think was pretty low blow by the radio guy
Hang on boys!
Math is hard, we just jumped out of the top ten, FFS we cant even lose properly
I hope PFK is OK.
Stretcher is out.
Holy fuck, they're putting him on a stretcher.
I suggest as a pre caution he does not play again this year
Where the fuck is DGMB? He was in the passageway when Parros was hurt. I'll bet MT is all fuzzy inside.
never like to see the neck moving like that, hope its just whiplash
I certainly hope so and that it's all pre-cautionary.
gCHyuk it the post.
Nice win. Get well PFK!
Canadiens Montréal @CanadiensMTL 2 mins2 minutes agoP.K. Subban suffered a neck injury and was taken to hospital for further testing. He has normal movement in extremities.
I'm speculating after seeing a dozen replays here...but PFK will be ok - slightly sore neck - taken off as a precaution but he flailed around a lot when he first went down. Threw of the gloves and was moving - tried to sit up initially...I am not downplaying it for a minute - it looked bad - but I sense he will be fine. Let's hope I am right.
Kevin Weekes contacted the Subban fanily and they said PK will be OK. Just under observation. Good to hear.I read some of Stephane Richer's comments from his radio interview yesterday, and with eMpTy's treatment of PK in Colorado it's just more proof that man should not be head coach. C'mon Bergevin give your head a shake.Dan Bylsma has more class in his little finger than the Bully. I would love for him to be head coach of the Canadiens.
