  9. We go through our days just living. Part of those days include sometimes losing a great friend. My very good friend lost his dear wife recently. She was a great person. She was a photographer. Cancer took her. Fuck cancer.

    R.I.P. dear Sarah.

Should you visit her website, you will see a full moon shot over Tuscany (where she and her husband retired to a decade ago). It was the last picture she took.

  38. Decided to watch a couple eps of HofC's instead. Gearing up to be quite the slugfest. And I like me some Neve Campbell! Jeebus PK, learn to stay on your effin' skates! Maybe the equipment manager needs to be fired. It's all his fault. PK can't keep his edges. MT should look into making him a better person. Anyway, same old same old.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Listened to the resident senile old xenophobe's rant from earlier. Not only has PK been left off the roster because he 'doesn't fit into Babcocks plans', but other notable players not named to the roster include the likes of Joe Pavelski from the Sharks (who in fact is American and has been named to team USA). Do we really need to have senile octogenarians calling play by play and spouting nonsense between periods? Hell of a case for mandatory retierement.

  40. Meh. Looks like the Habs could sink below CLB, at least. Nice to see Chucky sticking it to MT. Condon obviously got the tank memo.

Funny to hear HNIC say, "Anytime Montreal, BUT IN PARTICULAR TORONTO, plays out west there are tons of their fans". Yeah, I guess that's why they chose MTL to open up in Winnipeg a few years ago and the Habs have had the the most outdoor games (including the very first one), while Toronto only got one because SN pressured the league.

Anyway, this season can't end soon enough. There's nothing really to talk about. Can't wait to deal with the collective Habs land nervous breakdown when the realization comes that MT isn't going to be fired and no major moves will be done. Hope the weather is nice this summer in Canada! (I will be visiting for 2+ months, so I really mean that this time).

    ReplyDelete
  41. I suppose that if nothing more than Chucky playing centre comes out of the rest of this season...it's something to take into the summer...oh yeah - and MT and DGMB getting sacked by Mr. Molson when this nightmare has ended once and for all..

  43. I am actually happy with this season. Its like you are just about to get married and then by good fortune the light strikes your fiance and she is revealed to be a Sienfielian two face. TFS can not be the system to win the cup. eMTy is a fucking madman, his brain more jumbled than his lines.

I am sure we will get Druid in the off season and a number 9 pick will be part of the package. This kid, oh fuck eMTy will still be coach and everybody just get on the wrong side of the sod now.

    1. If they pick in the top 10, I hear the local kid Julien Gauthier is pretty good, 6'4", 225 lbs. Heard his father is a body builder and had him in the gym when he was young and he has muscle, DGMB may pick him for the name too.

  48. Being the careful thoughtful thinker that I am my conculsion should be taken as 80% propable. We will need a new name for Stinky Stamkos when he signs with us. Really he has no other place to go. Toronto is in a rebuild, why waste your life there. No other Hockey Market except New York would make him a GOD. He will sign 3 years at 5 to 6. Then he still has another big contract to cash with Rodgers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer10:40 PM

99.9% chance Stamkos doesn't sign in Montreal. Why would he want to play for another dysfunctional organization? Also, he doesn't fit Dumpster Diving Bergy's profile of 5th line Empty special. More likely he signs in Toronto and PFK demands a trade to join him.

What did you think of TWD tonight? Enough mayhem for you?

  49. So if you go with what appears to be the way a lot of people are thinking, and this is borne from a couple of interviews I've listened to and the most recent H I/O podcast, we are to excuse DGMB for his trespasses as he still needs time and because no one could have anticipated the catastrophic collapse the Habs embarked upon once TFS went down for the season. This too, (and this is the part I am having real issues with) apparently also excuses MT for at least 20 games of next season so that they can see if things really are as bad as they have looked. I certainly hope that this line of thinking is not what happens, as I really don't want to endure another season like this. It's only the 7th of March and I have already really tuned out for the season. So 6 months without any real hockey is going to be terrible (and I am including the "World Cup of Hockey" in this drought)...truth be told, it's all pretty depressing...

    ReplyDelete
  50. the Maritimer7:42 AM

The "real" World Championships are in late April/early May, PFK will probably be on that team and maybe gCHuk on Team USA. The Memorial Cup is a decent tournament as well.

Fuck Empty. Get to work MB.

  51. Patches probably be on the USA team too. Maybe kidA on team Canada? If he's not injured? What's the word?

Potential TWD spoiler (stop here if you care). Regarding the group's outing last night, I find it really uncharacteristic that they would just go in guns a blazing based on the word of the Hilltop people, without doing any of their own re-con. Otherwise, I enjoyed the eye-stabbing, shoot 'em up action. Do we meet Neagan (sp?) next week?

I don't think Negan shows up until the Finale when he will bash somebody's brains out with his barbwire wrapped baseball bat. Glenn looking at the photo collection on the wall may be a premonition if you have followed the comics at all. I read an online article a few minutes ago speculating who will be "moving on" from the show. I already know who one of them is for sure and it's a toss-up between the other two. Chris Hardwick will be inconsolable on the final Talking Dead I'm sure.

  52. the Maritimer8:34 AM

Max may be a possibility for Team USA but I suspect he will be rehabbing his bum leg instead. I also thought of kidG for Team Canada, not sure if he is a good enough skater for the Olympic ice. We'll see.

  54. the Maritimer11:30 AM

Columbus, Vancouver and Arizona are all only 4 points back with games in hand. The Habs still have a shot at the 5 hole in the draft.

You know what? I don't care anymore. A poorly managed team with 2 or 3 really skilled players that the coaches have no fucking clue what to do with. And all we have to look forward to is them picking somebody who may or may not make the team 3 or 4 years from now. I think Bettman's salary cap parity league has ruined hockey for me. After watching the dynasty teams of so long ago I cannot lower my expectations and watch the utter crap which is on the ice today. I just can't. The Montreal Canadiens as I knew them in my youth are long dead. And they ain't comin' back.
