Looking out at the road rushing under my Dad’s Wildcat wheels
Looking back at the years gone by like so many summer gals in FHFields
In seventy-eight I was seventeen and my Habs were running up another one
I don't know where they’re running now, they’re just running on
Running on - running on MT2
Running on - running DGMBlind
Running on - running into no FHFun
And they’re running behind
Gotta do what I can just to keep this blog alive
Trying not to confuse it with what we do to survive
In ninety-three I was thirty-two and I called Patrick my son
I know when that road turned onto the Tremblay road we’re still on
Running on - running on MT2
Running on - running DGMBlind
Running on - running into no FHFun
And they’re running behind
Everyone I know, everywhere I go
FHFers need some reason to believe
I don't know about anyone but me
If it takes me all night, that'll be all right
If I can get you to smile before I leave
Looking out at the road rushing under my Audi A3 wheels
I don't need to tell you all just how crazy this fucking season feels
I look around for the FHFriends that I to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their comments I see them running too
Running on - running on MT2
Running on - running DGMBlind
Running on - running into no FHFun
And they’re running behind
TFS™ you really tempt me
You know the way you look so kind
I'd love PFK to stick around but maybe he’s running behind
You know I don't even know what I'm hoping to FHFind
Running into the summer with my Habs running behind

Enjoyed the packed house Olympiques game, despite the loss. Very energetic play and pace (for most of the game). Hey, its the playoffs. Highlights were no dump and chase and the respect the ref gave Benoit Groulx when he called him over to the bench for an explanation. Go Ol Go! (this is what is chanted, 'Ol' kinda rhymes with Hull).
ReplyDeleteGreat song choice and awesome parody moe! Groulx is a fantastic coach, a player's coach (from what i've read) and I'd take him in half a heartbeat over that useless hack we have now.
ReplyDeleteMr. Molson hasn't answered my pleas to calm the waters about the PFK chatter headed up by the SFU and purelain media. If this actually turns out to be a real thing (and to be clear i think there is about a 0.3% chance PK is traded), I want to say I'm done with this team...but reality is that's not true. No matter what, I'll always be a follower. eMTy will be gone eventually. If not this year, then next year because I truly believe not even TFS can save his skin. So, what if PK and a first are traded to the oil for Yak or Eberle and a first (which will be 1 or 2 probably)? Does that change your outlook? Would you all suffer another year or two of mismanagement?
For now, hopefully they can go out with a W. And I've never been a fan of cheering against other teams...seems petty. But GO SENS (and that hurt just a little).
Thanks St. Pad. I agree 100% with the entirety of your comment and I find it hard to believe to Molson lets PFK go in a trade but as the saying goes, anyone can be traded.
DeleteGreat parody, moeman, quite apropos.
DeleteI just listened to 'MT's vote of confidence' over at the SFU site. Blob stated that DGMB 'wantd to go the mat on and Molson stepped in order to avoid artitration..." That's not quite the way I remember it. Yes, Molson said to get him signed, but they DID go through arbitration and signed before the arbitrator ruled. The arbitrator was going to hand down a ruling on a Sunday but they signed him on Saturday.
If you're going to report something and say 'we know this to be fact', Blob, then report the fucking facts. I would say actually going through the arbitration process and listening to MT trash you to an arbitrator is a damn important fact.
Saint Paddy, If they trade PFK my outlook would not change, this team would be dead to me until the current management is dead.
Can somebody explain something to me? As the SN begins their 6 months of nothing but Jays coverage, they had a little thing on this morning about the Jose Bautista bat flip last fall being a 'defining moment in Jays history". Since the Expos left, I don't follow baseball much. So I missed where the Jays won the World Series last year making that moment in history in any way meaningful. Guess I was too busy planning the Habs' parade after that October start.
ReplyDeleteIts part of the snet 'swagger'.
DeletePretty sure it'll be wall-to-wall leaf all spring and summer, then the Sideshow begins.
According to Hodge, if the Wings don't make the post-season, it's because they don't have Sideshow and they can point to their loss to the leaf the other day.
ReplyDeleteGo Sens, Go Wings!
I gotta see this!
ReplyDelete@BWildeCTV
Monday I will put all of this to rest by asking Bergevin if he is also in the foxhole with Subban. Then it's done and y'all can be at peace.

@lochlyngb I get one question. That is my question. That is how I will word my one question.
I think the 'powerful machine' will have given DGMB the heads-up on this by then and his answer will already be prepared.

ReplyDeleteA great parody to end the season. Well done Moeman. I shall watch tonight and that will be it for the season. I will loosely follow the playoffs but I don't really care who wins. Two last things...I cannot believe that PFK will be traded. I cannot believe that DGMB will be able to sell MT as the head coach next year with a straight face. How could he possibly? The most epic collapse in the history of the club. If that doesn't warrant a sacking...then nothing will. If Wilde asks that question, he'll be ridiculed by DGMB btw. So why doesn't he ask how he can expect anyone to take him seriously as a GM if he refuses to sack a coach who just led his team to one of the most embarrassing seasons in the history of the club. So tonight...JUST FUCKING WIN! GO YOU FUCKING HABS GO!
ReplyDeleteEngels:
ReplyDelete"So @Richardlabbe asks if Therrien if there's an issue with Subban. Answers "I'm not doing a season review right now."

ReplyDeleteGreat Jackson Brown parody. My fave of his load out stay and that should apply to PFK. Unless we can rob Edm of Erble, Yak, and a second. That might be worth it. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole. PFK is being wasted because eMTy will not support his rushes. Our PP is pathetic even with him. We seem to have at least 6 D man who can make a breakout pass, its just our breakout design is flawed. However the optics of trading PFK are so bad, just cant see it happening. Just watching Star Was again, and I love how disney is putting spin offs into motion

Oh yeah I do not like the pick of the day, this team does not need to resist tanking.

4-1 Sens, hang on boys from Ottawa.
ReplyDeleteWatching Augusta kick the hell out of those golfers today and flick over to check the score and see 4-1 Sens. Add in a bit of World curling and just getting back from a nice long walk with the dog and it's a pretty good day.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!
5-1 mid 3rd.
DeleteDIE broons DIE!
Clod decides to pull a Roy on a PP with over 9mins to go and Sens get the empty net shortie, did the same again later and Pageau shoots from his own end and gets the EN shortie.
DeleteBeautiful. Too bad the Wings didn't get a win.
What I thought was weird, that ring above the rink with the digital messages? Why would they display the score of the Wings/Rags game? esp given the broons home record and the pressure they're already under to get a win and for sure they must be looking to check the score. Talk about creating a distraction.
Beaner crowd cheering another broon goon. Go figure.
DeleteAlso, Hodge will be pleased (sarcasm) to know that the Wings clinched without Sideshow and that their loss to his leaf meant SFA.
DeleteDave needs to add some blue to his white hair.
DeleteHa ha, eat shit Clod.
ReplyDeleteNow Go Flyers.
DeleteRegarding DSP's cousin, 'family is very concerned about Antoine Jarvis’s health, because he must take antipsychotic drugs.'
ReplyDeleteHope things work out well.
DeleteNo idea why Clod is so loved by the Montreal media - both sides. When he called a time-out, he didn`t say a damn word, it was entirely Patrice Bergeron who addressed the players.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to gCHyuk for being selected Habs`player of the year.
ReplyDeleteMinutes before practice began, the Canadiens announced that Alex Galchenyuk had won the Molson Cup for the 2015-16 campaign, which is awarded to the top player on the team, as determined by three-star selections all year long. Galchenyuk was named first star eight times this season, and the Canadiens’ bench boss believes it’s a sure sign that No. 27 is making incredible strides forward.
And congratulations to Lb.
- All of Paul Byron’s hard work this season was formally recognized on Saturday morning when the Canadiens announced that he’d claimed the Jacques Beauchamp-Molson Trophy as the team’s “unsung hero” as voted on by members of the media. Byron set career-highs with 11 goals and 61 games played after being claimed off waivers from the Calgary Flames back in early October.
Claude Julien said it was about a "lack of execution" Sound familiar?
ReplyDeleteI don't give two shits about there phylers but it eliminates da broons and gives BlanCHe a playoff.
ReplyDeleteAlso, FHFun to see snet choke on their bluejay hype and force themselves to show the PIT/PHI game.
Now, with thick as a fucking oak leading the yipping, says go for Auston. What a despicable scum-laden network.
... and a hnic 4k game, from of all places, NJ. Yeah, sure.
Deletescumnet hopes for a TAM win and says they can't understand how they lost 3 games to the Habs. 12 year NHL fuckface contract for this fucking bullshit.
Deletemoe, I just love your coining of words.
DeleteI don`t care about the Flyers either, just wanted to see them hammer the nail in the broons`season.
DeleteThx juce.
DeleteLast thing the pro sport of hockey needs is a phlyers (or leaf) Cup.
I've always liked OV, so hope he goes far.
I have grown to despise Sideshow since his CotU introduction, so Go Red Wings! Go far! Really far! Nip at the leaf 11 Cups.
FWIW, a Wild Cup would be great for that part of true hockey country. Also, they made a coaching change after a major slump. Says something.
As per juce upthread, congrats to Lb and gCHuk.
ReplyDeleteFlyers take it 3-1 over the Pens.
ReplyDeleteBye-bye broons.

DeleteFWIW, the pic' o' day day is a symbol of fucking pulling away from empty. Is it also phallic? Eye of the beholder beholds.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of who finishes where, I will not watch the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteI may comment on game/action results and SFUcker spewed vomit/bile but not much else playoff-wise.
Of course breaking Habs news will see new threads.
Fried man has very big shoes. He's also a big leaf-loving dick.
ReplyDeleteand horrible hair dye/rogaine/style job.
DeleteIs that even a colour?
DeleteI will have a severe lack of care about these playoffs, but would love to see the Wings crush Bishflop and the fucking Dolts.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%.

Really, especially this season. While the team nosedived, you never did. even a stint on the DL with an UB injury couldn't dampen your enthusiasm and dedication. Well done, we'd all be nowhere without you
Thanks 29. I won't suggest it was easy this season and kudos for helping me out.

Couple of tweets on gCHyuk`s stats. Didn`t DGMB hire a stats guy? does he ever talk to him?
ReplyDeleteGalchenyuk was 17th in the NHL in points/60 before moving from being used as third line C to wing on Jan. 14. Averaged about 14:12 per gm
Galchenyuk was 17th in the NHL in points/60 before moving from being used as third line C to wing on Jan. 14. Averaged about 14:12 per gm
As for points/60 in all situations, Galchenyuk is 34th (tied with Alex Ovechkin and Matt Duchene).
BTW-- those last couple of tweets are regarding 5 vs. 5 numbers.
including tonight, Galchenyuk is 25th in NHL in points/60 between Kopitar and Seguin...
Since Galchenyuk moved to top line C he has 11 goals in 17 games (incl tonight). Only Scheifele and Silfverberg have more (12 in 18 games).
Max Pacioretty says he won't play in the world championships for the USA.
ReplyDeletehe knows its a fucking bettman bum fecking

Goodnight all. Thanks Moe for all the terrific posts this year.
ReplyDeleteLoad this season on a freighter in the port and send it out to sea - destination Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic...never to return.
So it's finally over. Good. Sorry I slacked off in the latter part of this season, but I was just following the trend from our (breaks fingers doing air quotes) "glorious" team. I really can't believe there will be no playoffs this year. I bit so hard on that 19-4-3 start. So very, very hard.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks for another great season moe. No matter what happens this summer I'm sure it'll provide us with enough fodder to vent outrage here.
My playoff team is Minnesota. They proved what firing your useless coach during a prolonged slump can do. Imagine that.
And of course, fuck you, you stupid broonz! hahahahaha!
We'll have fodder as soon as tomorrow. It's unofficially official that MT will come back next year as it's reported that he'll be at the post-mortem which he usually isn't.
Deletewe are going to trade away every player who can score and just go with grinders, thats how you win in todays NHL.
Delete"That kid had a blatant disrespect for (honor and respect)," Cooper said of the hit, according to Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune. "That was egregious what happened and there is no place for it."
ReplyDeleteOh go get eliminated in round 1, idiot. Your guys were trying to injure Sheik throughout the game.
Funny, last night tsn post game article stated Plaid gave him a light shove while he seemed to lose an edge, now after Cooper's rant they removed it.
My mistake, it's still there.
Delete'Johnson was given a shove by Greg Pateryn, lost his footing and fell into the boards.'
Been years since I posted, but I read every day, comments and all. Thanks Moe, et al for making hockey fun when it wasn't fun. (And thanks for the Strummer radio show link. Love it. One of my faves of him is doing Redemption Song with Johnny Cash.)
ReplyDeletenot to pile on eMTy, he has already dug himself a permant foxhole, the peter principle I guess. PA parantu is the leaf top scorer wiht 20 goals, DSP a scoring machine in NJ, just coincidinks I guess.
ReplyDeletegCHyuk played last 10 games with a broken finger.
ReplyDeletethats from having it stuck up eMTys ass while he rotated for the first 60 gaames.
ReplyDeleteI found out the secret. DGMB is a huge Rodney Dangerfield fan and eMTy does perfect mimics.
ReplyDeleteNo hearing for #canadiens Greg Pateryn. Fact that Tyler Johnson skate got stuck in the ice at the impact made the difference.
ReplyDeleteI watched the first two periods last night and it was great to see GCHYK get his 30th goal. Great for Patches to get 30 as well. I don't really know what to think about all the talk from Marinaro and the like confirming MT is coming back. Let me just say this about that...he has no business coming back and I will really struggle to watch the Habs much until he is gone. The only thing that got me through this season was knowing that if it continued to be so terrible at least they would sack him at the end of the season. I truly cannot wait until the post season pressed by DGMB. He has some serious shit to answer and I don't want to hear excuses...but sadly I fear that is all we'll hear. Time will tell...Anyway - Moeman - you have been a star and I thank you again for all you do for us. Have a great summer everyone!
ReplyDeleteMan, Jordan Spieth is tearing it up at the Masters.
ReplyDeleteSo, tomorrow, Bargain Bin Bergy holds court to dissect what went wrong with his team this season. Since we are being told that the Empty coach will be returning, I have to assume that BBB and Mr. Molson have been spending today huddled and trying to figure out how they are going to spin this to the fans who they have to know are fucking pissed. If BBB shows up with his foxhole friend with him tomorrow that will be a huge "fuck you" to the fans. Should be interesting.
Happy to see Danny Willett give Spieth a run for his money. Runaway events aren't nearly so entertaining. To be honest, I watch enough golf but haven't heard of Willett before this weekend. Great story. I was really rooting for Langer but he disappeared quicker than eMTy and BBB into their foxhole.
DeleteSpeith in the drink just as I hit enter on that last comment. Getting VERY interesting!
DeleteI want three questions.
Delete1)why did gCHuck get less TOI this year than last year?
2)Why are DSP and PA Parantu scoring machines on other teams
3)Why is DDD so special?
Check that! Spieth now falling apart!! In the drink twice now in the bunker!!! Egad!!!!
ReplyDeleteQuadruple bogey on a par 3. Danny Willett and Lee Westwood now duking it out.
DeleteCall of the Wilde: At least the Habs finally found a number-one line.
ReplyDeleteHa! At the first sign of trouble good ol' empty will have DD back on that first line quicker than you can jump in a foxhole. And gCHuk will be a 3rd line winger. Again.
Unbelievable goings on at the Masters! Always been a Westwood an - wouldn't mind see him giving it a go.
DeleteMr. Gretzky has grown on me too - would like him to give it a scare the last few holes.
DeleteFuck Dustin that coke-sorting weasel. You don't sully the Gretzky name like that
