Running out the season ~ Last game

Looking out at the road rushing under my Dad’s Wildcat wheels
Looking back at the years gone by like so many summer gals in FHFields
In seventy-eight I was seventeen and my Habs were running up another one
I don't know where they’re running now, they’re just running on

Running on - running on MT2
Running on - running DGMBlind
Running on - running into no FHFun
And they’re running behind

Gotta do what I can just to keep this blog alive
Trying not to confuse it with what we do to survive
In ninety-three I was thirty-two and I called Patrick my son
I know when that road turned onto the Tremblay road we’re still on

Running on - running on MT2
Running on - running DGMBlind
Running on - running into no FHFun
And they’re running behind

Everyone I know, everywhere I go
FHFers need some reason to believe
I don't know about anyone but me
If it takes me all night, that'll be all right
If I can get you to smile before I leave

Looking out at the road rushing under my Audi A3 wheels
I don't need to tell you all just how crazy this fucking season feels
I look around for the FHFriends that I to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their comments I see them running too

Running on - running on MT2
Running on - running DGMBlind
Running on - running into no FHFun
And they’re running behind

TFS™ you really tempt me
You know the way you look so kind
I'd love PFK to stick around but maybe he’s running behind
You know I don't even know what I'm hoping to FHFind
Running into the summer with my Habs running behind

  1. Enjoyed the packed house Olympiques game, despite the loss. Very energetic play and pace (for most of the game). Hey, its the playoffs. Highlights were no dump and chase and the respect the ref gave Benoit Groulx when he called him over to the bench for an explanation. Go Ol Go! (this is what is chanted, 'Ol' kinda rhymes with Hull).

  2. Great song choice and awesome parody moe! Groulx is a fantastic coach, a player's coach (from what i've read) and I'd take him in half a heartbeat over that useless hack we have now.

Mr. Molson hasn't answered my pleas to calm the waters about the PFK chatter headed up by the SFU and purelain media. If this actually turns out to be a real thing (and to be clear i think there is about a 0.3% chance PK is traded), I want to say I'm done with this team...but reality is that's not true. No matter what, I'll always be a follower. eMTy will be gone eventually. If not this year, then next year because I truly believe not even TFS can save his skin. So, what if PK and a first are traded to the oil for Yak or Eberle and a first (which will be 1 or 2 probably)? Does that change your outlook? Would you all suffer another year or two of mismanagement?

For now, hopefully they can go out with a W. And I've never been a fan of cheering against other teams...seems petty. But GO SENS (and that hurt just a little).

    1. Thanks St. Pad. I agree 100% with the entirety of your comment and I find it hard to believe to Molson lets PFK go in a trade but as the saying goes, anyone can be traded.

    2. Great parody, moeman, quite apropos.
I just listened to 'MT's vote of confidence' over at the SFU site. Blob stated that DGMB 'wantd to go the mat on and Molson stepped in order to avoid artitration..." That's not quite the way I remember it. Yes, Molson said to get him signed, but they DID go through arbitration and signed before the arbitrator ruled. The arbitrator was going to hand down a ruling on a Sunday but they signed him on Saturday.

If you're going to report something and say 'we know this to be fact', Blob, then report the fucking facts. I would say actually going through the arbitration process and listening to MT trash you to an arbitrator is a damn important fact.

Saint Paddy, If they trade PFK my outlook would not change, this team would be dead to me until the current management is dead.

  3. Can somebody explain something to me? As the SN begins their 6 months of nothing but Jays coverage, they had a little thing on this morning about the Jose Bautista bat flip last fall being a 'defining moment in Jays history". Since the Expos left, I don't follow baseball much. So I missed where the Jays won the World Series last year making that moment in history in any way meaningful. Guess I was too busy planning the Habs' parade after that October start.

    1. Its part of the snet 'swagger'.

Pretty sure it'll be wall-to-wall leaf all spring and summer, then the Sideshow begins.

  4. According to Hodge, if the Wings don't make the post-season, it's because they don't have Sideshow and they can point to their loss to the leaf the other day.

    Go Sens, Go Wings!

Monday I will put all of this to rest by asking Bergevin if he is also in the foxhole with Subban. Then it's done and y'all can be at peace.

  7. A great parody to end the season. Well done Moeman. I shall watch tonight and that will be it for the season. I will loosely follow the playoffs but I don't really care who wins. Two last things...I cannot believe that PFK will be traded. I cannot believe that DGMB will be able to sell MT as the head coach next year with a straight face. How could he possibly? The most epic collapse in the history of the club. If that doesn't warrant a sacking...then nothing will. If Wilde asks that question, he'll be ridiculed by DGMB btw. So why doesn't he ask how he can expect anyone to take him seriously as a GM if he refuses to sack a coach who just led his team to one of the most embarrassing seasons in the history of the club. So tonight...JUST FUCKING WIN! GO YOU FUCKING HABS GO!

  10. Great Jackson Brown parody. My fave of his load out stay and that should apply to PFK. Unless we can rob Edm of Erble, Yak, and a second. That might be worth it. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole. PFK is being wasted because eMTy will not support his rushes. Our PP is pathetic even with him. We seem to have at least 6 D man who can make a breakout pass, its just our breakout design is flawed. However the optics of trading PFK are so bad, just cant see it happening. Just watching Star Was again, and I love how disney is putting spin offs into motion

Beautiful. Too bad the Wings didn't get a win.

What I thought was weird, that ring above the rink with the digital messages? Why would they display the score of the Wings/Rags game? esp given the broons home record and the pressure they're already under to get a win and for sure they must be looking to check the score. Talk about creating a distraction.

  17. Congratulations to gCHyuk for being selected Habs`player of the year.

Minutes before practice began, the Canadiens announced that Alex Galchenyuk had won the Molson Cup for the 2015-16 campaign, which is awarded to the top player on the team, as determined by three-star selections all year long. Galchenyuk was named first star eight times this season, and the Canadiens’ bench boss believes it’s a sure sign that No. 27 is making incredible strides forward.

    And congratulations to Lb.

    - All of Paul Byron’s hard work this season was formally recognized on Saturday morning when the Canadiens announced that he’d claimed the Jacques Beauchamp-Molson Trophy as the team’s “unsung hero” as voted on by members of the media. Byron set career-highs with 11 goals and 61 games played after being claimed off waivers from the Calgary Flames back in early October.

Galchenyuk was 17th in the NHL in points/60 before moving from being used as third line C to wing on Jan. 14. Averaged about 14:12 per gm

As for points/60 in all situations, Galchenyuk is 34th (tied with Alex Ovechkin and Matt Duchene).

BTW-- those last couple of tweets are regarding 5 vs. 5 numbers.

including tonight, Galchenyuk is 25th in NHL in points/60 between Kopitar and Seguin...

Since Galchenyuk moved to top line C he has 11 goals in 17 games (incl tonight). Only Scheifele and Silfverberg have more (12 in 18 games).

    1. We'll have fodder as soon as tomorrow. It's unofficially official that MT will come back next year as it's reported that he'll be at the post-mortem which he usually isn't.

    2. we are going to trade away every player who can score and just go with grinders, thats how you win in todays NHL.

  95. "That kid had a blatant disrespect for (honor and respect)," Cooper said of the hit, according to Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune. "That was egregious what happened and there is no place for it."

Oh go get eliminated in round 1, idiot. Your guys were trying to injure Sheik throughout the game.
Funny, last night tsn post game article stated Plaid gave him a light shove while he seemed to lose an edge, now after Cooper's rant they removed it.

Been years since I posted, but I read every day, comments and all. Thanks Moe, et al for making hockey fun when it wasn't fun. (And thanks for the Strummer radio show link. Love it. One of my faves of him is doing Redemption Song with Johnny Cash.)

  97. not to pile on eMTy, he has already dug himself a permant foxhole, the peter principle I guess. PA parantu is the leaf top scorer wiht 20 goals, DSP a scoring machine in NJ, just coincidinks I guess.

  98. gCHyuk played last 10 games with a broken finger.

  99. thats from having it stuck up eMTys ass while he rotated for the first 60 gaames.

  100. I found out the secret. DGMB is a huge Rodney Dangerfield fan and eMTy does perfect mimics.

  101. No hearing for #canadiens Greg Pateryn. Fact that Tyler Johnson skate got stuck in the ice at the impact made the difference.

  102. I watched the first two periods last night and it was great to see GCHYK get his 30th goal. Great for Patches to get 30 as well. I don't really know what to think about all the talk from Marinaro and the like confirming MT is coming back. Let me just say this about that...he has no business coming back and I will really struggle to watch the Habs much until he is gone. The only thing that got me through this season was knowing that if it continued to be so terrible at least they would sack him at the end of the season. I truly cannot wait until the post season pressed by DGMB. He has some serious shit to answer and I don't want to hear excuses...but sadly I fear that is all we'll hear. Time will tell...Anyway - Moeman - you have been a star and I thank you again for all you do for us. Have a great summer everyone!

Man, Jordan Spieth is tearing it up at the Masters.

So, tomorrow, Bargain Bin Bergy holds court to dissect what went wrong with his team this season. Since we are being told that the Empty coach will be returning, I have to assume that BBB and Mr. Molson have been spending today huddled and trying to figure out how they are going to spin this to the fans who they have to know are fucking pissed. If BBB shows up with his foxhole friend with him tomorrow that will be a huge "fuck you" to the fans. Should be interesting.

    1. Happy to see Danny Willett give Spieth a run for his money. Runaway events aren't nearly so entertaining. To be honest, I watch enough golf but haven't heard of Willett before this weekend. Great story. I was really rooting for Langer but he disappeared quicker than eMTy and BBB into their foxhole.

      I want three questions.
1)why did gCHuck get less TOI this year than last year?
2)Why are DSP and PA Parantu scoring machines on other teams
      3)Why is DDD so special?

Call of the Wilde: At least the Habs finally found a number-one line.

Ha! At the first sign of trouble good ol' empty will have DD back on that first line quicker than you can jump in a foxhole. And gCHuk will be a 3rd line winger. Again.
