    2. I'm not sure about Stamkos but he is highly skilled and still young. Is he worth the gamble? At what price? If the CH is serious about talking to him the FIRST thing they should be doing is getting PFK involved. They are BFFs, go back many years and PFK would sell Montreal like no other. Too bad DGMB doesn't have the balls to call PFK and solicit some help to wine and dine Stamkos.

  11. Not really surprised PFK didn't make it, SFU head coach Bab$ never liked him and BBB clearly doesn't either.

Just goes to show that if a coach (esp ones with egos the size of the moon) doesn't like you. you're screwed. Clear examples are the way "T’es rien" has always PFK and his use of gCHyuk. We all know that if DDD wasn't injured, gCHyuk never would have not have gotten a top line role. Then the fat egos come out and claim credit for something that had SFA to do with and ride on the backs of talents they had no right to lay claims to.

Cooper did pretty much the same with Drouin, if Stamkos wasn't injured, he would have left him down in the AHL to rot, he also tries to credit himself for a player's talent his has SFA to do with.

Getting caught up... glad to see HabsFan29 is still around. PFK had no chance to make Team Canada as he is too flashy and skilled to play defence for ol' Sourpuss and as juce and moe pointed out, BBB doesn't like him either. It's funny how even at the highest level of hockey in the world, petty politics still dictate who is favoured and who is not. I witnessed it for 10 years in minor hockey. Certain players get favoured no matter what, I think there is a lot of ass kissing behind closed doors that's it. This phoney tournament is nothing more than a Rogers/NHL/City of Toronto cash grab. Really, there is nothing to be won. World Cup of hockey? What the fuck is that anyway? Is it as prestigious as the World Senior/Junior Championships or the Olympics? Nope. Not even as important as the Memorial Cup. There's no history so who cares? I don't and won't watch a second of it.

OK, I said my piece and am now enjoying a nice local craft beer, Picaroons Blonde Ale. Up next some Black Grouse blended scotch.

  24. Suck it Raptors and the SFU!

We knew PFK had no chance making that team considering the 'braintrust' behind it.

gCHuk though confuses me. I can only surmise the intelligence gathered by the group in charge of that team pointed out that Galchenyuk sounds Russian, therefore wasn't even considered.

Whatever, like the M and moeman stated above, nothing but a moneygrab crap tournament. Somebody's star player will get a season ending injury and then they'll be questioning the validity of tournament. Unless it's TFS - then they'll just say serves him right - should have stayed off the ice until he was ready.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's also because BBB still can't decide if he's a winger or a centre or will ever be a centre, he can only let them know after the season starts depending if DDD is healthy, so other teams' GMs are confused. But you're right, maybe they're also confused by his accent as well as his name.

Like Letang, he's at a disadvantage as a right-shooting defender.'

'Alex Galchenyuk - Only the greatest goal-scorer of a generation, Alex Ovechkin, found the back of the net more once teams reconvened after the All-Star break.' I think I also heard somewhere that he had 16 goals in his last 22 games.

Kessel - no longer a leaf so they took James van Riemsdyk who is instead. Like the M pointed out, they don't want the booing and like moe said it's all a cash grab for the SFU media.

Those decisions were guided to a great extent by coach Mike Babcock, who is coaching Team Canada in a third straight best-on-best tournament after gold medal victories at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics.

"Mike Babcock was a huge help to us in formalizing and finalizing these last seven players," Armstrong said.

I also believe he had felt it would be more 'forgiving' less pressure to select him this time around because he isn't the current Norris trophy holder as he was during Sochi- easier to get away with, shall we say. He's also a leaf now, bought and paid for, lock, stock and barrel and PFK is a tranna boy playing for and supporting the community of Montreal. In his own SFU way, it simply will not do to have a Montreal Canadien who hails from tranna put in a good light.

I'll take solace in the fact that his leaf have no one who could hold a candle to PFK.

By the time Daigneault arrived at his West Hartfford home Friday afternoon, a contract was waiting for him. By 3:30 in the afternoon, he was officially emplyed by the Canadiens."

    3. Woohoo! Yes, Virginia...

The Blues offered extensions to their coaches and Captain Kirk told them he wouldn't be returning. There may have been a chance for a promotion for him there, I hope he isn't getting screwed over.

      Be very worried, "T’es rien".

  63. WatCH the Muller effect on the PP.

  64. On the flip side, the team improves with Muller and "T’es rien" is safe, backup for Carey's knee.

As Steve pointed out first good news in like forever. Arrogant Fuckface's nose will be out of joint.

Played 36 holes today, took a power cart this morning and walked this evening. Man I am beat but the Muller news perked me up.

  66. Maybe Molson didn't like all the flack he was getting over the Big Bird fiasco, called BBB into his office and raked him over the coals for lying to him and gave him an ultimatum. I'm sure "T’es rien"
had no say in this, he would feel too threatened to hire Muller.

  67. THe best part is he does not have to speak French, he will have the standard issue Starfleet universal translator

  68. There has been nothing but positive reaction on the hiring of Muller #fanapproved, meanwhile, many have been left flabbergasted and their jaws have dropped to their knees #suckitSFU #suckitDougArmstrong.

Associate Coach is basically a co-coach, Muller should be equivalent to empty, he can even tell JJ to fuck off if he wants to.

    2. Agree the M. I highly doubt he would have agreed to come here just to be another one of MT's lap dogs.

  71. Good good good, right down to the "Associate" moniker. That means eMTy's motley crew of "Assistants" also sit below Muller on the pecking order. The benefits include:
    - Subban now has someone he can respect as a smart and talented hockey guy, no offense to JJ or the others, but if ever PK's head needs a shake, Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary
    - MaxPac now also has a mentor in the Captaincy department he can go to when things get extra sticky.
    - GChuck now has a guy to coach him who was a proven point producing forward.

    Thank you Bergy!!!

That's been his problem with MT, he exercised an authoritarian, autocratic, egotistical, "I will break you' approach", "my way or the fucking bench/pressbox for' attitude with PFK.

Muller is a communicator, a player's coach and will bring a different style and approach. he was also assistant to the Count when PFK first began playing with the Habs so they have already have some familiarity. If anything, I think PFK will welcome this.
