I love a super sexy friday on a sunny afternoon! Great ones all 'round Moeman. I have only a small bit of interest in the playoffs and absolutely no interest whatsoever in the Habs. Begervin has managed to do what no other has ever been able to accomplish...he has killed my passion. I live in fear of him trading PFK but aside from that I am dead to them. No accountability has a price...
On that note, I admit I did watch the game last night (eating my words). Weber was a complete disaster for the Preds, on for all goals against his team - and they diss PFK for Team Canada??
Great girl on bike SF Moeman. I am opto mystic for next year. We should have 3 lines that can score and twenty options to make up a fourth line. Some of our sprouts have to spring FFS. Roxy, Hudon, Renway, Mangnus, I am cup hoping.
Great SF as always moe, I like the Supergirl pics even though I only watched one episode, it wasn't to my liking unfortunately. The Habs aren't dead to me but as I mentioned before, the Dumpster Diver with his blatant cronyism and spirit crushing no accountability press conference kicked any hope I had out of me.
Agreed, I want Tampon Bay gone ASAP and I am hoping for St. Louis to win as the last original expansion team not to win a Cup. Plus an acquaintance of mine scouts for them at the Sea Dogs games and we have great chats when he's not "working".
@Steve, I wouldn't count on too many of the prospects to amount to much as they go through "Therapy" and "The Process".
another bergy strikeout #Isles have placed Sebastian Collberg on uncondtional waivers. Forward acquired in Vanek-MTL deal didn’t pan out. Off to Europe.
Score one for Marc Bergevin and his team of yes-men advisors.
More re-writing of history by the Hab haters (TSN):
"The Montreal Canadiens had 110 points in 2014-2015, their highest total since 1988-1989, and started last season with an 18-4-2 record, prompting talk of a Stanley Cup. Then, goaltender Carey Price got injured, and the house of cards came crashing down."
Except Price only played half those games (12). The Habs were 8-2-2 without him. There were many factors involved in the collapse, and Price was definitely one of them. But this false narrative does two things: a) Reinforces the belief that the Habs are a one player team; b) takes any responsibility away from the coach and GM.
The fact is, the Habs were winning without Price. Then they went 1-0-1 against the Devils in a home-and-home in late November but scored only a few goals. MT saw his chance, put DDD back on the top line and started screwing with everyone else. And yes, Gallagher was injured just before as well. It wasn't just one thing, but the coach (and his foxhole love interest) certainly didn't help, and probably exacerbated the situation.
The point is, TSN is yet again rewriting history to form the narrative they want, and one their ignorant leaf loving fanbase will eat up. And one that adds to the blanket get out of jail free card for MT. Who will do the same thing next year. And the year after.
By disabling the ability of anyone to comment, they also make sure their re-written history remains un-disputed and un-challenged. They will make sure their leafies will read it, take it as gospel and repeat the written drivel in conversations and the fallacy becomes perception witch becomes their reality. Only a few months ago when they still allowed comments, I read one of their leafies post the 'fact' that the Habs protected Richard from serving in the military just so they could win games. Wasn't that one concocted by the leaf owner himself?
Their lies and myths about the Habs have been eaten up, re-told and handed down to the current gullible generation who regurgitate the narrative because IATG and makes them feel better about their dismal original six history - which is based on facts.
The internet has allowed people with no qualifications to express their "expert" opinions on various sports websites. The Off Season Game Plan at the toronto sports network is one example. I quit reading that shite a long time ago. You can look around any of those websites and as Captain James T. Kirk allegedly said long ago: "Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life here."
Max has become the ultimate company man, firmly planted in Coach Empty's back pocket. The "C" looks good on you but maybe you could lead the team, instead of disappearing for three months? How about telling your assistant Pleky he's being paid by the Montreal Canadiens not the Czech National Team. Just so you know, Galchenyuk is the far superior player to your best friend DDD, to these tired old eyes anyway. Good luck next season btw, you're going to need it.
I heard him defend the coach and how gCHyuk had to be coddled and brought along slowly because of the market he plays in. When I heard that, I thinking the exact same thing, a company man through and through. Isn't the captain supposed to represent his teammates as well? As well, wasn't it Max who said he'd rather to go back to the AHL because he didn't like the way he was being used on the big club? Short memory, Max.
I'll give Coach Empty credit, he knew who to cultivate favour with. He knew Max would toe the line as his Captain, whereas PK would be the rebel WITH a cause. He knew Markov and Plekanec, the two oldest vets would be in his corner with all their playing time and of course the Teacher's pet would back him. He could then administer ice time or punishment to the young guns (Eller, Galchenyuk and Gallagher) as he saw fit. PK became an island unto himself. Divide and Conquer. Well played Empty.
While I don't like to believe that their actually a conspiracy within the Canadiens management, I do agree with you and I also truly now believe that the final tally of 'teammate votes' were counted behind closed doors and manipulated to their suit the wanted outcome of management. I also believe that the votes for the Clancy was conducted in the same manner. This current management has done nothing except treat Subban like a parriah from day one. "T’es rien" benched him after he missed training camp and the first few games of the season during the contract 'hold out' before he even coached him for a single game because he had to 'watch and learn' the system. Tried to kill his spirit banning the triple low five. He would not endorse his Norris trophy Dman for Sochi claiming he's not the coach of Team Canada, that would be their decision not his, then when he was named to the team, he tried to take the credit saying he made him a better player, kind of like he's doing now with Galchenyuk. He has tried over and over to stifle PK and he just can't do it which must be eating him and his ego to the core.
That bridge that BBB gave him then when all PK wanted was term and to be a Hab sure came back to bite him in the cap later when he came back with a Norris and a Gold medal in his pocket. Some say that PK is overpaid but he really isn't, he is earning what the market dictated which, for Dmen was set immediately prior by Nonis and the contract they gave Phaneuf whose actual salary was $8M which would have been Meehan's market comparable who knows every single letter inked in pylon's contract.
Like K3X said - PFK keep on being you and fuck 'em.
All of your assertions about coach empty are true, I remember reading in various places when he was on antichamberpot he had nothing good to say about PK. He knows he couldn't carry PK's jock strap and likes to humiliate him any chance he gets. Like it or not PK is the face of the Habs and although empty would probably prefer to see him gone, Molson won't allow it. I think. As far as salary, I think Shea Weber's contract dictated that moreso than the Princess.
PK is a free spirit and the old white NHL coaching establishment doesn't like his game. If he was white and his last name was Orr it would be all good.
our coach is a fuking disaster, fighting the last war, the 200 foot game. Not every player has to be a 200 ft player, its fucking hard to score on TFS, so lever that and score on their goalie.
Got my beans in the slow cooker, going to either barbeque some pork chops later if it stops raining or bake them in Italian bread crumbs with parmesan cheese mixed in. The deer are tromping through my property today like they own the place. Hope they don't find my relocated hostas...
My daughter, who is home during goose break, was telling me yesterday that she has a lot of moose meat in her freezer and is thinking about grinding it and making a few burgers. I have eaten moose meat and venison before but it was so long ago that I don't quite remember if I liked it or not though I seem to think I preferred deer to moose for some reason. (that was during the rabbit-snaring seasons)
I had pork chops yesterday but man, those beans sure sound good. Today's menu will feature chicken breasts a la Campbell's mushroom soup served with rice, I really like that for some reason, simple but good.
I am really going to be able to intenet now. Just got my speed doubled. Way up to the max availble in my rual neighbourhood. Speedtest 10.47 Mbps, if you have Kodi better start using it, cause I am going to wear it out. BTW bishflop carried off on a strecher. I hate running goalies, its a cheap cowards play and it should be punished with extreme predjucice. Krieder should have had a year suspension and the guy who ran Bishop should be through for the playoffs at least. Now I have not seen the play..
Bishflop was not run by anyone, he did it all by himself, but I agree, Krieder should have been gotten suspended for his antics even before he intentionally injured TFS.
The 2009 draft killed us, but after 6th pick Oliver Eckman Larson it seems to have been a wipeout for everyone. Krieder at 19 we could have had, then Simon Depres at 30, after that Jabok Silverberg at 39 is the only name left. 2010 we took Tin Tin another blow, five really good players left on the board. Evgeny Kuznetsov and Charlie Coyle included
Steve, most drafts are hit and miss, mostly miss, unless you are picking top 5. I thought Despres was the safer pick but I was biased as I watched him play here for 4 years. Great, great skater.
Doesn't matter who is picked this year, they will be a shell of their former selves once Bergy and Empty are done beating any creativity out of them. BTW, I saw where Peter Mahovlich, who now scouts for Florida, said the 200 foot game should be a thing of the past. It's so fucking hard to score on today's goalies nobody should back check anymore. Besides if you have the puck in the offensive zone the other team can't score anyway. Unless your goalie is Vesa Toskala. Heh heh. Fuck you leafools.
Primewire or onechannel appears to be down, maybe gone , more than a flesh wound. Just when I get real iternet. Exodus,, rule of salvation, I tell you what yuou need
OneChannel has been gone for a while. Exodus and Phoenix are great for tv and movies. Sports is hit or miss, meh, don't really care anymore. I got shomi and Center Ice for free for three years and I hardly ever use either. Mrs. Maritimer did binge watch seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy. I finished Agent Carter last night. I have to watch the last few episodes of Gotham, the Flash and Agents of SHIELD. Up next will be the whole season of Arrow on my PVR. Who needs buttman's shitty playoffs? Up yours Gary.
After seeing Captain America Civil War last weekend I decided to revisit the movie that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man, which opened in May 2008. I watched it last night it holds up well and is probably still the best of them all.
I like the idea of hitting for the fences with logan brown. Imagine, gCHuck, Brown, Lego and MCM down the middle, sprinkle in a few smurfs and a new coach and plan the parade.
Hey moe, does one of the original Four Habs Fans (33) live in Alberta? Was reading some of the comments on the NHL Pk birthday pic and somebody posted a pic of a license plate. Just scroll down a bit.
I've been following a little bit of the playoffs. I really really wanted Ovi to beat Sid. I mean really. I hate Tampon Bay - (c)the M. - so much. I don't want to say it but I was almost glad Bishflop got injured. Poor excuse of a goalie. But to the flip side, there is a positive to this. Since TB is winning without Stamkos, Stevie Y can let him go...Not saying he could/should/would want to come to the Habs squad but I will just be contempt not to see him in a TB jersey (or Boston).
I played my 9th round of golf today and just like the other 8, I nearly fucking froze to death. No wonder I can't break 90 because of 40km winds, biting cold and a ball that will just not go any where.
Good on Ben Scrivens. The media keep fishing but the players will not bite. Good for them. Just let it go, OK?
Good Morning FHFriends! Mrs. Maritimer and I went to the James Taylor concert Sunday night at Harbour Station, a sold out event. We were sitting three rows from the stage dead center, he was right in front of me! I was never a big fan but he and his amazing band put on a great show. He played all his hits and some new stuff, told some great stories and interacted with the crowd, he's a true professional and a living legend as far as I'm concerned. He was a key figure in what I consider to be the greatest era of modern rock, 1968-1979. Here is a cool story to read:
Saw him in the late 80s at an outdoor festival. Good guy, great artist. I read he donated an entire concerts revenue to Fort MacMurray. He loves Canada.
Bargain Bergy's plan is obvious... assemble the smallest team in the league. Maybe the refs will feel sorry for them as the rest of the teams kick sand in their faces.
how can they win without dump and chase http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/nhl/rutherford-has-pulled-all-the-right-strings-for-retooled-penguins-so-far Kudos to Kessel but more to management for putting a square peg is a square slot.
"Safer’s body of work earned him the Fred Friendly First Amendment Award from Quinnipiac College, as well as special recognition from the Canadian Journalism Foundation. He also received the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards First Prize for Domestic Television for his report about a controversial school, “School for the Homeless,” CBS News noted.
Safer also won 12 Emmys, three Overseas Press Club Awards, three Peabody Awards, two Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards, two George Polk Memorial Awards and the Radio/Television News Directors Association’s highest honor, the Paul White Award. In 1995, he was named a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government."
Highlights of Runaway. thats what I would be telling my agent, save time ask for a trade now. Unlike Leaky he is willing to play on the rock. McSplooge says he has no chance, so I expect he will be Le Jean hockey. Definiety a urologist on a team that could not fill a sample bottle in a beer factory. https://youtu.be/VOvHF6vsooM
All these smurf signings are just a distraction, an illusion that Bargain Bergy is trying to acquire scoring. None of these guys will make any difference in "The System" or "The Process". The reality is there is nothing in the farm system that will help the Habs score more goals. UFA's of any note will avoid Montreal and Therrien like the bird flu. I'll bet they tell their agents if Bergy calls to hang up immediately. There is no help on the way. I look for more of the same next season, minus the 9-0 start. A better result would be 0-9 so Arrogant Fuckface gets the boot.

Delete3-0 Finns after two periods.
ReplyDelete4-0 Final. We play SWE next in the 1/4finals
ReplyDeleteI like how Ferraro said when Leo-the-liar went after his leaf teammate Reily that he would probably go after his own mother.

5'-9". Smurfalicious!
ReplyDeleteMore face-washings and beatings coming right up! eMpTy must be so happy.
DDD can look up to him
DeleteBargain Bergy's plan is obvious... assemble the smallest team in the league. Maybe the refs will feel sorry for them as the rest of the teams kick sand in their faces.

Kudos to Kessel but more to management for putting a square peg is a square slot.

DeleteAmazing what firing a coach can do for a team.
DeleteLooks like the Oilers are going to give Kassian another year. Good for him, looks like he's turning it around, wish him all the best.
ReplyDeleteDid you know the Penguins have removed all the toliets from the dressing room? Since they have got a new coach no one needs to dump any more.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Morley Safer
ReplyDeleteOne of the best. R.I.P.
Delete"Safer’s body of work earned him the Fred Friendly First Amendment Award from Quinnipiac College, as well as special recognition from the Canadian Journalism Foundation.
RIP Morley and real journalism
DeleteHighlights of Runaway. thats what I would be telling my agent, save time ask for a trade now. Unlike Leaky he is willing to play on the rock. McSplooge says he has no chance, so I expect he will be Le Jean hockey. Definiety a urologist on a team that could not fill a sample bottle in a beer factory.
