  1. Moeman, you are a star and I don't blame you for being board. Very nice touch to include a pictorial tribute to Jo Cox - most SF'ers won't know her, and indeed I didn't even know here until the tragredy unfolded yesterday - she is an MP from Yorkshire for the Labour party and I live southeast of London so no reason I should have. What the killing did was highlight how petty and narrow things have become over here, especially with all the vitriol being spewed about the referendum. End of the day she was a lovely woman doing a job she loved and beause someone became unhinged and disagreed with her, she is no longer amongst us. So terribly sad!

As a long time 4 HFer living abroad, this blog is invaluable to me and I look forward to each and every installment. That being said - fuck all is going to happen between here and draft day (except for maybe another midget Free Agency signing by the fuckwits running the Habs these days) so why not rest and re-charge? We can always comment on this link until such time as there is something worth blogging about. Just want to help as I don't ever want this blog to end!!

    1. k3X, I was kind of being sarcastic with the 'board' (see header pic) but I will say that the last few weeks have been boring when it comes to hockey.

Thanks for the info. on the young Mme. Jo Cox. What a disgusting shame to lose such a beautiful and caring person.

  2. Ballots show Crosby edged Kessel in tight Conn Smythe vote
    By Frank Seravalli

Everybody outside of the GTA - Yell it - "Who puts the 'S' in SFU?!"
TSN/SPRORTSNET/CBC - "WE DO! WE DO!"

The Kessel tracker was replaced with the Kessel Conn Smythe tracker which has since been replaced by the KesselCup to T.O. tracker. "S" indeed.

Great SF as usual. Phew. Glad to see we got Barberio locked up for 2 years. BBB at his finest - locking up the 6/7 D-man is equivalent to the usual 4th line/extra body forward we usually see. If he doesn't surprise the hell out of us over the next 3 weeks...then God...er rather, then Carey's knee help us all.

  3. Happy Sexy Friday everyone, thanks Moeman for being the last institution on earth that can be trusted to deliver without fear or favour.

In the words of Rodney King, why cant we all just get along. I went to my daughters Grad in the beautiful U of T convecation hall yesterday. The key note speaker was a Dr Schindler, the guy responsible for getting half the phosphate out of waste which saved the great lakes and many others, and for stopping acid rain. He did this using a lake in northern ontario as a lab. Harper tried to shut down this lab. He told the grads they faced the greatest challanges mankind has every faced, but felt they were up to it. The next speaker had the same messge but told a joke which clearly describes the problem. Its the false logic that got that beautiful MP murdered. On a dessert Island are a scientest, a lawyer and a economist. All the food they have is one can of beans and no opener. The scientest says lets work to create one, the lawyer says first we need to create a contract to divide up the beans, the econoist says your both nuts, all we have to do is assume the opener.

Good day folks! Yeah, not too much going on in the hockey world. Only things I've noticed are Carolina trying to get better (but trading is hard), Phat Phil won a Cup once he escaped the toilet bowl he was playing in (again, trading for help is SO hard) and the NHL is expanding into more desert areas. Meanwhile, Molson, Bergevin and Therrien are out turning over rocks looking for help (remember that wretched press conference?). The only thing they'll find now are June bugs. These three no longer inspire me, my expectations are low and getting lower.

Good article in today's Star by Bruce Arthur pointing out how boring Gary's league has become. No goals = no excitement. Some good quotes by Ray Ferraro. There's an easy cure as I see it, first, get rid of all the old, dinosaur, defence first coaches including the likes of the brain dead eMpTy. Second, make the rinks bigger, give the skilled players some room to work. Good hockey players know how to score goals and create openings. The first thing these asshole coaches do is beat any creativity out of them when they come out of junior or college. All the whole damn fraternity thinks about is goal prevention not goal scoring. Next, the cheatin' goalies. Shrink down that equipment so there is something to see and shoot at. Remember when guys like Lafleur, Cournoyer, Mahovlich or Bobby Hull could come down the wing and rifle one to the far side? You never see that anymore. It was beautiful. Back then goalies would hug the post to protect the short (or AHL) side and if they got beat to the far post so be it. They tipped their hat to the shooter and moved on.

More and more I am drawn to watching the kids play in junior, lots of mistakes but lots of dangling, goals and excitement. Basically the only reason I watch the NHL anymore is I am drawn to the Habs jersey but with each passing losing season I am losing interest. Let's face it, the club is living off their past glory, but I figure sooner or later savvy Habs fans will not fall for this ploy any more.

Next Friday will be interesting to see if Bergevin makes a move to try and recover from the mess of last season and his "Fuck you we know and you don't" shite press conference. If I was to give him a grade for his performance last season he would get a big fat F as he watched his first place team go down faster than the Andrea Gail. I don't believe for one fucking minute they didn't know Price was done for the year. It was all a big lie. His coaches and their "System" or "Process" are shit but he wouldn't admit it.

OK, that's my rant for the day. Cheers! More Black Grouse and ginger ale coming up!

It's kinda fun to read all the back and forth on the different forums, oh hell, HI/O, the various trade scenarios people come up with. One thing I've noticed is the sheer horror of some people if this player or that player gets traded. I'm probably guilty of it too but when it comes down to it there are only two players on the Habs I would not trade, PK and Price and I'm not 100% on Price. I might miss kidG but if the package was good enough I'd move him too. Maybe I'm too drunk to think about this. This U.S. Open is good, Oakmont is a tough course, I'd probably shoot 120 at that joint even from the forward tees. "Hic".

  26. Well DJ Cokehead tamed Oakmont like nobody else could. Who knows - maybe he's cleaned up his act, hard to imagine the Great One would have let him hang onto Paulina otherwise. Speaking of said fox, and god bless you for flauntin' it if you got it...but if your lovely white mini-dress is so short that you need to keep tugging on the hem of it as you walk...maybe add a few inches. Just a thought - but i'm good as is.

Final thought about the golf...as DJ heads up to the 18th tee, the crowd is chanting U-S-A! U-S-A! WTF is with Americans and their chanting of those letters. I've heard it in some very inane environments. Those people chanting that probably also have a loaded revolver in the glove box because it's their right to protect themselves...

Anyway, had a very busy Father's Day working on the landscaping in the back yard. Did stop for a nice steak on the bbq and a nice Garrison Nut Brown. A bit late, but about to have a slice of spice cake with peanut butter icing and a side of butterscotch ice cream.

Yeah, Paulina, that was quite the outfit but you wear it well. And, it wasn't as trashy as Ricky Fowler's GF at a tournament he won a couple years ago. Still, congrats to Dustin Johnson for winning after that major fuck up at last year's U.S. Open when he 3 putted #18 to hand the win to Jordan Spieth.

As for our American neighbours nobody can accuse them of not being patriotic, although they get lost in their enthusiasm from time to time. They do tend to be the most inward looking nation in the world though. All those "patrons" who like to yell and scream to hear themselves on TV later should take note of the European crowd who tend to politely clap after a good shot or putt.

I don't care any more. Strombo couldn't save that mess anyway. Kypreos and pjsuck ruined it for me, oh, and still using the nearly blind and getting senile Bob Cole for Habs games? I said this before, Strombo wasn't really suited for that role anyway, he needs to go back to his roots and take over "Q" from Shad, who doesn't bring much to the table.

Agree about the 'skiny jeans' moeman. Every single time I ever read any comments about SFU viewership being down, the jeans were mentioned.

"The anger or hatred toward Quebec's biggest city comes from the fact the media, TV shows and other cultural content seem to be from Montreal or about Montreal, he said.

"It's that big city you always hear about," Cauchon said. "We're sick of it. The people of Quebec City hate that everything they consume almost all comes from Montreal."

The SFUckers want PFK gone from Montreal because they are, and always have been, jealous of his abilities, skills and larger than life personality. The would love to see him gone from the leaf's division so that he doesn't detract from their glorious plan to put Auston Matthews and possibly Stamkos on the tsn/snet/hnit pedestal for all of Canada to worship at. Banish him to the hinterlands of western Canada so that easterners will be forced to stay up to the wee hours of the morning to watch him play with McSaviour.

Geoff Molson didn't step in and sign PFK to an 8 year deal to allow some fucking has-been or hater to trade him away two years later. Not gonna happen. 56. I do not want to see PFK traded. Even working with the yoke of EMty on him he soars. If he was let free we would win the cup this year. He says a lot of stuff that is good, and a lot of stuff I will put in the immature catagory. His relentles self promotion is jarring to the crotch corrner people and likey his teamates. It would be to me if he had not already proved over and over his heart is in his chest.

Let's not pretend race has nothing to do with the way PK is treated. But a name like Giordano. Uncle Sal maybe 'convinced' the league (or whomever votes on this award) to go with the 'obvious' choice. *No offence intended to any Italian FHFers. Fucking league.

And BBB could have gained a bit of credit back by simply stating "WE ARE NOT TRADING PK....trades are hard."

    ReplyDelete

    1. BBB would never say that, it would be too much like he was supporting him or something and when did BBB or MT ever support or endorse PFK for anything, anything at all? Yet, even with the way they always paint him in a negative light publicly, teams are still calling BBB about a possible trade.

  58. "There's no question, if we are going to win a championship, we need [Price] there," said Subban, who had 51 points in 68 games. "But we can't forget that we didn't get enough from everyone else this year. We can talk about Carey, but I don't think we had enough guys that performed well enough for us to make the playoffs. It comes down to that. I don't think we did enough as an organization to make ourselves a playoff team regardless of whether we had Carey Price or not.

"There is no question that if Carey Price comes back we are instantly a better team but if we think that we are just going to walk into next year and make the playoffs because Carey is back, this League is too good. You saw it this year and through the playoffs, it's too good and we need everybody to be better from the top of the organization down."

Everything he said is true, right down to those last 7 words which will be held against him by those at the 'top of the organization' until they fade into the past and he probably knows it.

"When teams call about P.K., I listen, but I say no." - Marc Bergevin on the numerous rumours surrounding a trade involving Subban

All he has to do is say PFK is NOT for sale, he won't get calls and there won't be rumours, but he won't do that, he won't give PFK a foxhole. I guess he'd rather waste his time answering the phone to say 'no' instead of putting his efforts to good use - no wonder it's hard to make trades FFS.

Finally, Bargain Bergy sticks his head out of his foxhole long enough to throw cold water on all the SFUcker speculation. About time. Anybody with half a brain knows if you trade a stud D like PFK away you spend the next 10 years trying to draft another one. PFK is going nowhere. Karlsson is going nowhere. Doughty is going nowhere. You can't trade for those guys until the very end of their careers.

You can't put any blame on PK for last season's fucking fiasco. That falls on 1. BBB for not addressing his goalie problem soon enough. 2. Clueless empty not being able to figure out what to do besides throw Davey out there to accomplish zilch. 3. Max floating around for 3 months scratching his head trying to figure out what was wrong and doing SFA in the meantime. Finally, when the carnage was over Habs management did the only thing it could: Blame the anglo (Ramsey).
