Good good good, right down to the "Associate" moniker. That means eMTy's motley crew of "Assistants" also sit below Muller on the pecking order. The benefits include:
    - Subban now has someone he can respect as a smart and talented hockey guy, no offense to JJ or the others, but if ever PK's head needs a shake, Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary
    - MaxPac now also has a mentor in the Captaincy department he can go to when things get extra sticky.
    - GChuck now has a guy to coach him who was a proven point producing forward.

    Thank you Bergy!!!

    3. 'Muller could/would do so with the authority necessary'
That's been his problem with MT, he exercised an authoritarian, autocratic, egotistical, "I will break you' approach", "my way or the fucking bench/pressbox for' attitude with PFK.

Muller is a communicator, a player's coach and will bring a different style and approach. he was also assistant to the Count when PFK first began playing with the Habs so they have already have some familiarity. If anything, I think PFK will welcome this.

So, basically what he wrote is that Carey's injury was a huge part in saving MT's skin following such a collapse but also the fact that there was no one in the organization to replace him with which also helped him. Could he replace MT?

He maintains that the HC of the Canadiens must speak French but Muller has HC experience. was captain of the Habs, won a cup here, loves the Canadiens and is also loved by fans of both languages. Claims he always believed if you have a chance to get someone like Bab$ then you have to soften on that rule and consider the sports side of it (yeah, I really believe that one) and I would add Muller without a doubt.

    - I posted this to say that I think Muller would be welcomed by all media if it ever happened that he would replace MT (with a few radical exceptions, of course).

  6. MT says he spoke to Muller and he 'told' BBB make sure you get the deal done because this is exactly what we need.

So, MT tells his GM what to do? (wouldn't surprise me) but he always tries to steal the credit when positive things happen.

  7. Idiot reporter asks if he ever considered learning French when he was here wouldn't that have helped him. Kirk replied that after practice he had a tutor coming to his house - then he got traded. Then while coaching the schedule didn't much time but now his daughter can help him out. I think that was his only question for Kirk.

  14. "The latest legal battle in the NHL concussion lawsuit involves 91 confidential documents that lawyers for the league inadvertently handed over in the case, but now want to keep secret.
The documents include correspondence regarding an arena-safety investigation commissioned by the league after a player was seriously injured when he collided with a stanchion during the 2010-11 season. NHL officials said they were worried the player might sue the league."

    -Collided my ass.
    and

"It’s uncertain which NHL player is referred to regarding the 2011 stanchion-related injury.
The NHL said in its court filing it hired an outside consultant in anticipation of a grievance or lawsuit stemming from the injury.
“It was essential that the NHL’s counsel - both in-house and outside - be able to engage in frank discussion of facts with Dr. [David] Gushue regarding his arena-safety investigation in order to advise the league about its options and the potential legal ramifications thereof,” the league’s lawyers wrote in the May 20 court filing.
While the NHL does not say who that player was, Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty suffered a concussion and a fractured vertebra as a result of a check by Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara in March 2011."

    -who else could it be?

"Pacioretty told TSN at the time that he thought Chara was intentionally trying to run him into the stanchion. Chara received a game misconduct for the incident but he was not fined or suspended. "

-Instead they try to cover their ass by pointing fingers at the 'safety' of the arena? Colon and Jacobs must have come up with that one. Forget there is a entity that exists entitled 'Dept of Player Safety' which is, as we all have seen, just depends who's harming who and which teams are involved.
Speaking of Colon and Jacobs, that's probably why they don't want the docs made public, it would tell us what we all already know.

  16. Watched Stephen Brunt's Ali special. I doubt there is a better sports journalist with more integrity than Brunt. Read a few articles this morning and collectively the message is about Ali's international popularity for his humanity and spirit. He was his sports best athlete. He was a true hero for civil and human rights. As a kid I loved hearing about him and seeing him on the television. Like many I was joyful at his presence in Atlanta in 96. He was a huge figure and lived a respectful, honourable and dignified life. I doubt we'll ever see a similar force from the sports world. I'm glad his life was part of mine. Thanks Muhammad.

  35. Finally back in Canada so I got to see the Pens-Sharks game last night. It was fine, but of course the announcers screamed with delight every time Kessel came close to the puck. Then TSN this morning, "There was a moment, a fleeting sequence, when it looked like the Sharks might finally earn their first lead of the Stanley Cup final. And then Phil Kessel happened". First of all, the Sharks never looked like they were going to take the lead. Second, how did Phil Kessel "happen"? He didn't do anything, especially actually score a goal, even though they have a pic that makes it look like he did. I just don't get the obsession, to the point of making things up. They're probably Bernie supporters, too.

  36. Asked if he had any more details to add about Vegas, Dreger is dismissing GAGnon's report at 'speculative' and is the same thing that 'we' have reported for months, there are good reporters with many sources but unless one of those sources is a member of the BOG and until something is signed, then it's just speculation. Really, right down to dates? He likes to think of himself as an 'insider' but he's just another member of the SFU and thinks nothing or no one exists outside of it. Not that I think Gagnon is the cat's meow but to say that he can't possibly have any more insight than yourself because he can't possibly have sources in the know is ridiculous.

Above, juce wondered about salary retention for Kessel. Pretty sure the leaf are still paying Phil $2mil a season. He's going to get the last laugh on the SFUckers who couldn't wait for him to be gone. I wonder if hnic will trade in the kesselTracker for a matthewsTracker?

Here's a crazy idea for Leapin' Lou: draft Matthews No. 1 to save face then swap him to Arizona for Strome, Domi and the 7th pick, probably Chychrun or Sergachev. Sign Stamkos and trade for Bishop.

  40. Discussing the possible Conn Smythe winner, GAGnon says he is sure Kessel would not get the votes from his Toronto colleagues because they will vote according to how they feel about him and some will say over my dead body. Asked 'but wait' aren't they supposed to judge based on hockey?, he admitted that he was guilty in the past of casting his vote based on whether he just really didn't like the guy even if he was a good player.

Didn't we all suspect that was happening a lot of the time?

Also said that Bab$ (because of his 'credentials) or Muller would be able to tear down the language barrier for head coach. Muller is a 'Montrealer", his daughters have ties to McGill (like Bab$) they speak French, he knows the market, had success here, the fans love him and many ladies have tweeted 'finally someone good looking behind the bench'.

Look, here's da skinny on da Muller ting. It was really a perfeck storm. First Mark said the foxhole was getting boring and then DAvey said he wouldn't mind somebody prettier to think of while taking care of his duties. Then there was a 'beam me up' moment and Captain Kirk was a free agent. I call him up an tell him that according to some (who don't really know...we know) our power play struggled last year and we could use his help *snicker*. In reality we know it's Carey's knee which was the issue with the PP and that will automatically be fixed when he's back next season. but in the mean time, I've hired an assistant to "fix" the pp and da media think (know) I'm a genius. Bonus - Foxy Muller can't parlez vous so no threat to my job (not that there would be).
