  1. To paraphrase Prime Minister Trudeau and President Obama, Canada is our pluralistic, tolerant and equal home. On the best day to be a Canadian, may all my compatriots here and abroad share some of that wonderful Canadian spirit with everyone. Happy Canada Day! Joyeuese Journée du Canada! Peace.

  12. If ol' BBB signs Lucic, I hope he brings Weise back too! Seriously, I like the edge Lucic plays with even if he's a total arse...except for the ball hooks. SiM you mentioned above you'd rather have ratface Marchand. I live in Halifax and can tell you there is no bigger douchebag in the country off the ice. The guy is a total fucking ass, driving his Lamborghini around the city always with a couple of big guys (bodyguards? buttbuddys?) at the bars. A co-worker met him at a bar and offered to shake his hand and when he told ratface 'No' to the question of whether he was a Bruin's fan, Marchand told him to eff off and walked away. I digress.

Happy Canada Day! Busy working in the yard (still) but will break for a few brewskis and to find out what amazing 4th liners BBB is able to snag.

  17. Marinaro read a tweet saying BBB was an idiot and he went off on another anti-PK rant saying when BBB had the end of season exit interviews and spoke to Patches, KidA, TfS and asked them about the problem with PK and how to solve it then he had get rid of him. So, either he spoke to each of the guys he mentioned and they told him that or BBB was his 'source'. Also how wrong it was of him to be out late when he had a neck injury. But I guess it's viewed more favourably by BBB when the cops are called when GalCHenyuk has a fight with his stripper house guest.

Per LeBrun BBB tried hard for Lucic but they likely can't out-match Edmonton. Marinaro says he's 'connected' on Lucic and says he's asking 6YRS @ $42M.

They say teams try to copy Cup winners, someone should tell BBB the Bruins didn't just win the Cup, the Pens did. Habs were known to be a speedy team but now he's trying to turn them into slow-moving plugs.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Marinaro is trying desperately to get into the good graces of MB and the Habs organization. Seriously, guys with actual history and access to the club are in disbelief, but we're supposed to trust a scrub who can't even get press access half the time?

But let's pretend this nonsense is true. So all those guys, including the soft boy captain, blame PK's off ice antics for being so terrible last year. To me, that indicates a much larger problem on this team than anything PK could have possibly done.

And what do we think four years of the coach berating, scapegoating and insulting PK has done to the psyche of those guys? It's a team of soft losers, and it stems from the coach (and apparently GM and owner, too).

      Delete
    2. Interesting that it has been reported rumoured that both PFK and Squid left the team thinking there was a losing attitude. There are enough facts out there to indicate PFK was the odd man out in the dressing room. The biggest was the charity vote. You make the biggest donation in the history of Canada and lose the vote, ouch ouch.

      Delete
    3. "There are enough facts out there to indicate PFK was the odd man out in the dressing room. "
-what facts would those be? the ones that all began in the SFU and PKStock and a torch carried by Marinaro? Or how about that washed up guy on AC who used to trash him at every opportunity, you know, the same guy who made him sit for 6 games after he was signed to a bridge deal so he could 'learn the system'? That guy? The SFU who are hate the Habs and the fact that a handful of Francophone media dictate what BBB does is pretty telling of those 'facts'.

"The biggest was the charity vote."
-Who tallied those votes? I'll bet you it was MB and BBB.

      1. TFS is supposedly/apparently/magnificently 100%. If true, even a stint in the tranna Cup (where leafools will watCH him and BBQ and drool like the fools they are) will get him in game shape. Bonus, TFS™ & Weber (I like the BBQ nic BTW) will be there to lead our country and they are good BC Buds according to Mme. TFS. (Sidenote; a Stanley Cup with TFS™, KidA and BBQ and we may have to have FHFun with The Montreal Canucks!)

      2. KidA will be back to 111% (see what I did there?) and now has a twin in A. Shaw.

      3. The new kid in town CHevy is signed and will be mentored by Weber. jjdaigneault will have zero effect on these two players. N8 may be jealous but then again may learn a thing or two as BBQ's D pair.

      4. CHé on the wing and on the PP. Worse case he spends some hard-earned $3M bonus cash at CHé(z) Parée or loses it completely and smacks MT2's smirk clean off. CHampagne is on the house!

  68. Canada Day has ended invention for me over here so this will be my semi sober last word on what has gone on in the last few days. Let's start with Lego. Fuckface hard him and he was never ver going to work for the Habs so the fact that he is gone probably makes sense. Good luck to him and I wish him well. Shaw sounds like a bit of a douche but he's our douche now so we should embrace the douche and see what happens. PFK is another story. BBB showed us all his true colours when he repeated the Season ending circle jerk press conference in announcing the trade and reasons behind it. He lied to very single Habs fan. He lied straight to our faces! And he didn't make the Habs any better. He made them older, slower and a fucking shitload less interesting. He voted of the best player on the team for a name who was past his prime but because he has history as an all star he thought he could sell it. He can't sell it. He lied to our faces! Let that sink in over the weekend. Today, we got a crapshoot goal scorer who might work out...but could cramp out ...another goalie and a defence man. Then we learn that some layers tell BBB to his face that they won't come to Montreal. I can't blame those guys. Who would willingly choose to play for MT. Who would willingly sign a deal with a man who has continually lied to the faces of the people who care and support the team. But I guess it is what it is. PFK is gone and no amount of whining will, bring him back. BBQ should be a decent replacement so I will role with that. What I will not ever accept is being lied to. Marc Bergevin is a disgusting horrible person. The worst kind of person out there. He pretends and then lies. In my book he has zero cred. But he has dug his own grave and I am praying that he is dead and buried before too long. This is on him and if the Habs crash out again, he will be gone. No place to hide you scum. And when that day comes I won't celebrate. It will mean that the Habs are not playing well and I never want that. But I will exhale because It will mean that this shit is finally over.

So go Habs go. Go you fucking Habs go! Just fucking win! Great SF btw Moeman. Where you find the motivation I will never know but God bless you! Nice ones all round!

    1. BBQ is a better player than PFK at this moment on a team playing for eMTy. It will be very interesting to watch both Lego and PFK free soar and make eMTY the man with no clothes that he is. However I think we have a better shot at winning the cup in our two year window with BBQ than PFK. Lego was an interchangable piece. The only decent winger he ever had was big TiTS and when the brief moments of EGG line. So it made no sense to keep him, not a thrid line of Lego and a Euro smurf and Cable (Shaw is a big cable company) would be deadly, now we will see wee davy try and keep up and scrapping the ice when he should be playing hockey.

What a beautiful day here in Saint John, sunny, warm but with a nice breeze off the water. Spent the day with Mrs. M., we went down to the waterfront where there were live bands all day. Had a nice brunch at a newly opened Irish pub, the Cask and Kettle. Wandered around uptown for a bit, had a beer at Churchill's Pub then took a break and went home. Came back in to the waterfront and caught the last act, Royal Wood, who is a fantastic musician, kind of reminds me of Jim Cuddy. WatCHed the fireworks and came home. A great Canada Day, we are so lucky to live in this great country.

Regarding our beloved Habs, let's hope that Price, Weber and kidG can provide the leadership necessary to lead this team to respectability despite the incompetence of the coach and GM.

I was not going to talk about PK anymore but it is interesting to consider all the cloak and dagger stuff that was going on late in the season. Remember, PK was only supposed to be out for a week or so with that neck injury but it ended up being the rest of the year. I'll bet PK was shut down to prevent any big injuries from occurring because Bergevin had made his mind up he was going to trade him. Some phone calls led to Nashville who were probably regretting matching Philthy's offer sheet for Weber and knew they had to cough up $8mil on July 1. Sure, PK is a little higher per season but has shorter term and now does not have trade protection. Montreal can easily afford Shea until he retires and Nashville takes the cap hit for the rest of the contract but is not out any cash. I would bet this has been under way for some time with huge money implications being the main driving factor, plus he had to get back another D for PK.

Anyway, the first time these teams meet, I hope Nashville wins it on a PK goal so he can skate past Montreal's bench and glare (grin) at Fuckface. After that I don't care if they ever win again.

    Go Habs!

  92. I hope everyone had a nice Canada Day long weekend. I just had to get some medical tests done (no worries, just for a new overseas visa) and since I no longer have my health card I had to pay out of pocket. I suggest everyone give their health card a long, passionate wet kiss for me. Goddammit.

I'm over the shock of the PK trade. It's not so much the trade itself, or rather the players involved, but what it says about the people running this organization. I'm not sure I want to be a fan of that anymore. When people say you have to be completely loyal to a team in order to be a 'real fan' I groan. I can't really support the mentality that ran PK out of town. I'm also very disappointed in how easily many fellow fans and the media have fallen in line. I think we can all understand the underlying 'issue' the organization (and some fans and media) had with PK, and I'm just not comfortable aligning myself with that sort of thing. I'll tune in here and there this season, mostly just to see Price playing again and how gCHuck and KidG are doing, and maybe how Che is doing (until MT benches him and gets MB to trade him by February). I still support a lot of the guys on the team, but like I said I'm not quite comfortable supporting the organization as a whole right now.

Besides, now with PK and Lego gone, who will RDS/MT/MB scapegoat next? We all know it'll be gCHuck. What's the over/under on DD getting back to 1C? I've got Che going in the doghouse by game 12 and DD back to 1C by game 15. But that's not to say I'd be shocked to see him there game 1. As arrogant and pigheaded MT was before, now we know he's the one in charge and can never do anything to threaten his position. But with Muller in charge of forwards (on paper) there might be some actual push back (until he's chased out of town again).

Anyway, look out for Nashville this year. Talk about a stacked team. Amazing when you have a competent GM and an organization that prioritizes winning and entertainment over politics and 'repek'.

  99. Ok, I know I'm late and haven't been around but...OMFG.

I don't like the PFK trade...but I don't dislike Weber either (did we 'name' him?). His contract is huge but there are upsides to it. If he retires early, apparently the cap hit goes to Nashville, which is something, I guess.

Contract too long for Shaw but, whatever, it is what it is. He's probably tradable if it doesn't work out. He's 24, 2 Cups, lots of experience. The downside here is he's not playing with Toews' and Kane's. For the record, he did not play with them all the time, but it helps to get a contract in the end (i.e PA Parenteau / Tavares). I also think he's sort of the new Weise. I liked the real Weise's size better though.

Lego is gone. I'm a bit sad about that. I know not everyone liked him but I did. I think his problem was that he was not accepting his role with the CH. I wish him luck in WSH.

Al Montoya. That was a surprise. I hope we keep Condon as backup (or he could be trade bait). Montoya is depth with experience in case TFS goes down, again (it's starting to be a problem to get injured like that).

Radulov (I call him Ragoût). Meh. I'm ok with that. It's an expensive risk, but only for a year and it's not my money so, I don't really care how much they threw at him for the length of this contract. I just hope he effin scores like a maniac. Maybe we'll see a Russian Connection happen.

    Happy camping!

    2. Yeah, I think you're right. He could've been a second line center. Big body, decent amount of skills. He should've been put in that chair long ago so he could get the 'training' required to be a 2nd line center. On the flip side though, PleXXX is still a good second line center and we couldn't get rid of him at that time. Here's hoping DDD gets third line minutes this time around. Hey the M - I was out golfing yesterday and shot an honest 103. Still trying to break 100 and the 3 putting killed me yesterday (usually one of the better parts of my game). My buddy was keeping score and always knocks a few strokes off his score...the amount of balls he lost (at least 8, probably 10 or 11) and still shot a 97 with no pars. But I only play against myself so i just let him believe he gets the best of me. I'm getting closer to my goal - my short game 100 yards and in is vastly improved. Was a beauty of a day for a round even with a severe hangover. Actually i play better hungover because i'm forced to focus a lot more on my game just to survive the day.

The short game is where you make up your strokes. I shot 85 on Sunday and 91 today and the difference was 6 missed putts. Plus, it helps to keep your ball on the fairway or at least in play without penalty strokes out of hazards.
