The buffoon is benching Auto for tonight's game, wouldn't want to play somebody who actually goes to the net unlike Captain America.

Sure would be ironic if Condom got the start and the win tonight.

I see where the IceCaps signed Yann Danis to play for them. I had forgotten about him, I have an autographed jersey card of his.

  7. “Regarding Flynn, first of all I didn’t have any reason to take him out of the lineup,” Therrien said after the morning skate. “I thought he had a really good camp. He could bring something that we miss. First of all, he’s good on killing penalties, a smart player, and he’s really decent on faceoffs — and as we all know, we could be better on faceoffs. So we believe that it’s a good opportunity for him to put him in the lineup.”

The Canadiens rank 29th out of 30 teams in the NHL with a brutal 37.6 per cent winning percentage on faceoffs. Alex Galchenyuk has won only 26.9 per cent of his faceoffs.

A couple of things. First of all, when you say 'first of all' twice in the same sentence it seems like your really trying to sell something you know we don't believe. So if there was no reason (other than the injury) for Flynn to sit those games, what IS the reason for Carr to be benched?

And I was going to ask why the hell the Habs never hired Yanic Perreault as a face off coach/consultant, but (and I may be wrong here) I believe the 'Hawks hired him years ago for that position and they sit at 27th in the league, so...but I'm not sure YP is still with the team mind you.

Also my curling season starts tonight so i'll have to miss the same fucking passing of the torch opening we've seen since 2009. TFB.

    1. You missed 'bergy' from tva ripping TFS™ for not being in net tonight. He mentioned 6 other ex-Habs goalies that would have played despite being sick. All six were French-Canadians. (disclaimer, I'm French-Canadian). The French version of don cherry also said had Halak been the opponent tonight that TFS™ would've played. They then went to an interview with DDD.

Off topic, I was listening to Don Henley's song Dirty Laundry on the way home from karate, Wow, the lyrics are SO appropriate for what's going on today re: the U.S. election and CNN the hatchet network. Give it a listen!

  29. Decent period because of the 1-0 lead and InigoHabsgo, otherwise very poor defensive plan against a fast skating, good passing Pens team.

Little Davey deserves all the credit in the world for accomplishing what he has and making it to the big league of hockey.

That being said, the Canadiens are terribly weak at center ice and I'm including gCHuk in that assessment. They can't win the big prize with 27, 14 and 51 as the top 3. Actually, other than Gallagher I don't like any of their forwards. The D is fine. Goaltending is iffy.

    2. Agreed theM and as much as I hope he blossoms, Big McM looks like a 2nd 3rd line centreman.

  50. 'Kowalski had initially announced he would be donating $50,000 after the ad appeared, but after receiving a phone call from Subban thanking him for the gesture, he says he decided to quintuple the amount.'

“It’s going to be very hard (for Subban) to raise the money and he’s going to have to work a lot harder in the summer,” Kowalski said. “He was so thankful to me for picking it up and doing some of the work, so I thought I could do a little bit more.”

Great win, did CHevy pass the auditon?

Let me re-phrase my statement from above about the Habs forwards. It's not that I don't "like" them, I just believe they aren't good enough to win anything. When the elite teams get their collective feet under them these guys will get pushed around. When therrien reverts to the dump and chase (actually he's doing it now) the Habs will struggle to score. I do like gCHuk but I find he struggles to be consistent, I think he would be better as a winger.

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify, I was tired last night and couldn't even finish watching the game. Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I missed the game but some Kudos for MB. Inigo, Che, Dish all world class additions that only cost money. SSR for Lego, I am not convinced. gCHuck seems to be off, maybe he has overtrained. To win the cup at a minimum we need BmC to drive a stake through the littlest snowplows heart. Right now PFK for BBQ is a no brainer.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I had a dream that I was out of town so I could not watch the home opener, but Inigo got a shutout and DDD scored 2 goals. Obviously can't be true

  56. Well FHFers, last night tells us we can beat a team that is missing their captain and had to play a game two times zones and a mile higher than usual just the night before, and come in late, after a long flight and customs, and try to play at a high level without their primo Stanley Cup winning goalie, and without their major domo captain wunderkind. And they outshot us. And they outhit us. Montoya was my first star. Petry is looking amazing (like: yoohoo, let me be on the top pairing please). Max and KidG and gCHuck looked great. I think we have a ways to go before being Cup contenders.

    ReplyDelete
  57. SNET guys were decent last night. They noted DDD on the third line is capable. I think PleXXX is missing something. CK got more love from the phone booth than eMTy by a factor of about 10. BBQ looked damn competent.
