That was an impressive win last night but I can't help but be haunted by the grim spectre of last season's epic eMTy BBB collapse. I keep waiting for the bubble to burst, the other shoe to drop.

CHe is a fucking beast. Danno is an excellent replacement for the washed up DDD. BBQ is a mutant and Price is Inhuman. I have to believe Captain Kirk is mostly responsible for the turnaround.

They can't possibly win tonight can they?

    I'm so conflicted.

Interesting, Geoff talks about the strong connection between the Canadiens and the Montreal Children's Hospital, I have to think he (they) didn't like PK's solo act with the hospital...

Montreal and Chicago's 1971 and 1973 Stanley Cup Finals were epic. Some of you may be too young to remember them, Ken Dryden vs. Tony Esposito, the Pocket Rocket and the Road Runner vs. Hull and Mikita, great teams great players, meanwhile the Ballard leaf were in the fucking toilet and being flushed. Great times!

  52. Why the hell is ddd in the lineup? Looking at his recent statlines, we should rename him agent Double Oh Zero (000) instead of ddd. Where 007 is a license to kill, 000 is a license to disappear into total futility.

  59. The boys look like they've travelled and are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. So considering they are holding their own, not bad. Probably could be up by 2 if 000 wasn't in the lineup. Just trying that out...off to the Pats/

  61. Andrei Markov ties Guy Carbonneau for 19th most points in franchise history (547)

needs 27 more points to pass Guy Lapointe for 2nd in points all time for Habs defensemen.

  66. CHe has been double teamed all night

    ReplyDelete
  67. RDS just showed replay on the last goal, prior to PatCHes turning it over when everyone was looking for the puck, it went into the net behind Inigo and should have been called dead by the refs but it never was blown. Goal shouldn`t have happened, refs missed it.

I watched the 1971 Stanley Cup Finals on our 20" RCA colour TV (it was on 4 wooden legs), we had one of the first ones in our village where I grew up. I can still see Jacques Lemaire scoring on a slap shot from just over center ice and then Henri Richard holding off a Chicago defenceman with one hand, cutting to the net and scoring the winning goal on Esposito. Ken Dryden was amazing that spring.

  73. Crawford made some great saves during the game, kept them in it, same for Inigo.

    ReplyDelete
  74. good effort we coulda won, it was a leaf victory

    ReplyDelete
  75. They found their 2nd wind too late.

    ReplyDelete
  76. the Maritimer9:52 PM

Good close game. Good effort on a back to back, not enough shots on Crawford. Speaking of Crawford, he's one of my goalies on my fantasy hockey team so it wasn't a complete loss tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  77. RDS got clarification about the puck hitting the mesh, from what I understood it already left the zone so legal, something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  78. why didnt CHucky pass that through?!?

or why didnt he keep his cool and make a move on crawford?! (hes usually smarter than that to shoot on reaction with the gk getting such a good jump over). a lameo shot/attempt like that is why lego is gonners...

    ReplyDelete
  79. Che needs to make an adjustment. If they are going to double team him, that line needs to give him a quick pass option, with the d rushing in, outnumbering the defenders and scoring every time if exectuted as I imagine.

    ReplyDelete
  80. If you have ever read Enders Game you will follow. Otherwise Meh.
