The Morning Skate makes his glorious return to not present long-form video highlights after a win and wish moeman a belated Happy Birthday

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of a recount...

  • The boys were decent value last night, thanks in good part to TFS, not to mention a sizzling Russian manbro OT sausage pass, for a 2-1 win over the Wings. Long-form video highlights are an old tradition missed, because the NHL decided since TMS last did this that highlights should no longer be embeddable on other sites. It would take an internet law specialist to tell you how dumb that is. You can watch them here, but fuck 'em. And they feature Bob Cold so double fuck 'em;
  • TMS has been deep in Trumpland Thanksgiving gluttony (pic below) for the last week and as such has been remiss in wishing our glorious leader the happiest of Happy Birthdays a few days ago, as is tradition. Accept our apologies and a wonderful belated Happy bday moe, we hope your 39th birthday was filled with Habs wins and lovely rear views.

  2. Can we all just stop building silos on the intenet? Trump is just part of the new Snowcrash reality. All those who wished for goverment run like a biz, well watch Trump. Back to hockey. I want the Habs water bottles tested for valuim. Its not enough for the bro's to work 15 sec a game, I want at least a minute next time. Best part of last night, game on the line, late PP in the thrird. Little Davy hits the springboard and flys over the boards like a human cannonball. Leads our first wave to nowhere. Meanwhile its confirmed, eMTy runied Lego. The Danish economy has crashed and Lars only has 3 points in 19 games.

  4. Happy belated moeman! The glory days of TMS! Thanks 29.

I see the CP went out of their way to state that (Y) had "two low hits". Meanwhile in the 'Notes' section of the story they mention that Hudon "sustained an upper-body injury during practice Friday morning and did not make the trip as a precaution." while it's already been reported as a fractured sternum. The SFU really don't give a fuck about the Habs unless it's something they can paint in a negative light. It's sad and pathetic and what makes it really so is the fact they feel the need to do this because of their fictional rivalry they think their shit team has with the Habs, when in reality there is no rivalry because they've been irrelevant for 50 fucking years. I know I shouldn't care what they think but you're national fucking broadcasters. A bit of journalistic integrity is all I ask for. Probably never gonna happen eh?

The first two periods were hard to watch. The 3rd and OT were OK, I guess you just try to keep it close on the road and sneak out a win, which they did. Fuck CP, (Y) is a one man wrecking crew out there, keep your head up or else. Or, do like Grapes sez and get up against the boards and protect yourself.

Man, I would have liked to sit down at 29's table to sample those wares. Authentic Jewish dishes?

    1. The line of Artturi Lehkonen, David Desharnais, and Andrew Shaw had a terrible game. The three combined to generate four shots on net and the Canadiens went on to control just 40% of even-strength shot attempts while the trio was on the ice. DDD making his teamates better people through the process of small adversatiy

They can't keep "hiding" him, they are short-handed every single time he steps on the ice. It's beyond human understanding how the lines HAVE to revolve around him getting his ice time at center. They have very capable centers in 1. gCHuk, 2. PleXXX, 3. Danno and 4. MitCHell. What is so fucking hard about bringing in a real winger and parking DD in the pressbox where he belongs. I truly don't get it. I understand loyalty but aren't you trying to win? It's not personal. It's business.

    Your move, MB.

Wow, kinda early for that move. I guess when Dale Tallon got kicked upstairs Gerard was on notice. Too bad, he's a good guy. I doubt MB brings him back since they already have Muller. Hey, I'd take him back here to coach the Sea Dogs!!

    2. I meant that as in MB can give AF the boot even though he he too was recently given a new contract and Gallant's losses were no where near as 'fatal' AF's. I know it was just wishful thinking.

  10. I don't see him coming back while AF is still in charge...although surrounding yourself with others to the the blame has worked for him before...

  11. Wow, FLA is getting ripped by a lot of media people.

  12. Classless to leave him outside the arena to wait for a cab where he would be exposed to the media.

I wish him all the best, FLA management lost a good coach and I'm sure he'll sought after.

  14. Its seems the new master of the universe owner has his own ideas about hockey. Moneyball, dont need a good coach just a calculator.

Nathan Beaulieu knows Gallant as a coach as well as anyone after playing three seasons of junior hockey for him with the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs.

“I’m not surprised at the success he’s getting at all,” said the Canadiens defenceman, who still keeps in touch with Gallant and calls him by his nickname, Turk. “He’s a helluva coach. He was so good to me in junior. He really took me under his wing when my dad left.” “He’s just a player’s guy,” Nathan Beaulieu said about Gallant. “He’s so approachable. You’re in junior, you’re young, you have problems, and he’s just so easy to talk to. He’s always there for you. You can call him any time of the night. He’s just a good, old East Coast boy (from Summerside, P.E.I.). He’s down to earth and he’s got a big heart. Very fortunate that I got to cross paths with him.”

Like I said, the fans here would welcome him back with open arms, he won a Memorial Cup for us. Not sure about the new management though, some funny goings on...

Maybe he could replace JJ or the Lacroix guy or are they eMTy buddies like DD?

    2. Yep, they're also BFFs that's why their roles were simply reversed last season to solve the poor PP since their hiring. Didn't make a difference at all.

  16. I hope FLA does not make the playoffs and falls into oblivion. It just don't understand how Gallant gets fired when his team has so many injuries while a certain team we all know loses 1 key player and gets coached to one of the worst collapses in their history gets the full support of his BFF GN.

I guess the old adage 'good guys finish last' holds true.

  17. Just heard the details of GG termination. Out unclassed unclassy goat, stab them in the cock. Turds rule, the man has a hockey team, Viva La Revolution, go to the funeral Justin.

Sure is a head-scratcher, Gallant lead them to a 47 win season, got them into the playoffs for the 1st time since Harper was a juvenile and had them playing decent hockey without 3 of their top 6 forwards. Yet eMTy gets a free ride for the biggest trainwreck in club history.

Oh well, that should be one less team in the Habs way. A Wall Street billionaire with a West Point background can't be wrong, can he? The Man is still in charge. Trump rules.

  20. Its very clear that Moneyball was a great movie but despite all the math these guys are barbies and they are pulling on the wrong string. I have been cold and cold on Westworld, it deals with ideas dead as the Terminator, mowing grass well clipped. However in this bionic age I can only hope it stirs some non connected thought in the Yutes of today. I still stay fuck robots will make most women extinct. I am so glad I was never a gladiator in the future world.
