  1. Things I didn't know;

    "Canadian-American songwriter Rufus Wainwright on Friday shared an emotional tribute to musician Leonard Cohen, who is also grandfather to Wainwright’s daughter."

  3. Here's to hoping history doesn't repeat itself.

    'With nine straight wins at home to begin the season, the Canadiens matched a 63-year-old team record.

    Montreal will look to set the record on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings, the team that ended the Canadiens streak in the 1953-54 season.'

  4. No lineup changes so DDD and PLaid out again.

  5. Inspiration for the header pic came from:

    “There is a crack in everything/That’s how the light gets in.” ~ Leonard Cohen

  6. Jack Johnson will be the poorest player in the NHL, imagine earning millions of dollars now and in the future that you can't keep.

    'Johnson will keep $246,000 for “living expenses” each of the next two seasons. In the following three seasons, he’ll get to keep $277,050.50 per season until all his creditors are satisfied.'

    No DD makes me a happy camper. The light finally came on in GMGQ's head.

    I would have started Big Al tonight and let Carey take on the mighty Black Hawks tomorrow.

  16. He may have dissed his draft pick by the Nords and his mother may have been a domineering parent but Eric Lindros was a beats on the ice. He married a French-Canadian gal, so I doubt he harboured distaste for Quebecers. He has done a lot off the ice for various charities. A very good guy. Congrats to him and a re-congrats to Rogie Vachon.

    Side note; one Hab I think deserves HHoF mention is Guy Carbonneau.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. While discussing Lindros on 690, someone said that his parents did not like Aubut, they did not have a good vibe. Maybe it was a mother's intuition.

      Delete
    2. Oh, and agree on Carbo.

      Delete
  17. Heh, SFU tried to find a way to laugh at the CH with Lindros wearing the jersey at his wedding.

    They will go to the(ir) lowest depth (haven't sunk there yet) to try and diminish the Montreal Canadiens.

    Original 6 match-up tonight but its all about their leaf.

    ron mclame is a piece of shit.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Rest his soul but a horrible attempt to use Leonard Cohen's lyrics and singing tonight hnic.

    This is how it was done, might be one of the best ever montages;

  19. How fucking weird must it be for HHoFers to be at a game and shake hands with a line up of, wait for it, nothing but ex-leaf? What a fucking joke.

  20. In true, classy, hockey-knowledgeable and hardcore-rival respect, the Habs will honour Gordie Howe before the game. I may not believe a believer but I hope that Gordie and Rocket are sharing a beer and comparing number 9s.
