It was CHristmas Eve Kate
In the drunk tank
An old FHFer said to me, won't see another one
And then he sang a song of
The Rare Old Mountain Man
I turned my face away
And dreamed about a parade or two

Got on a lucky one
Came in twenty-four + one
I've got a FHFeeling
This year's for me and you
So happy CHristmas
I love you all
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true

They've got Pants! big as stars
They've got Molsons of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old
When you first took my hand
On a cold CHristmas Eve
You promised me
Ste. Catherine was waiting for me

I was handsome
You were pretty
Queen of CHarlie’s Angels City
When the band finished playing
We howled out for more
Gord Downie was singing,
All the drunks they were swinging
We kissed on a corner
Then danced through the night

The boys of the Habs CHoir
Were singing “Olé Olé Olé"
And the bells were ringing out
For CHristmas day

I’m no bum
Yes once a punk
SFUs an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that leaf bed
You mclame scumbag, you ol’crotch maggot
You cheap lousy Blue Jacket(s)
Happy CHristmas your arse
I pray Gord it's our last

The boys of the Habs CHoir
Still singing "Olé Olé Olé"
And the bells were ringing out
For CHristmas day

I could have been someone
Well so could anyone
You took my dreams from me
When I first found you
I kept them with me babe
I put them with my own
Can't make it all alone
I've built my dreams around you

The boys of the Habs CHoir
Still singing "Olé Olé Olé"
And the bells are ringing out
For CHristmas day

Happy Holidays and all the best in 2017 to my FHFriends.

  5. I have traveled many the astarl planes and exist in multipule universes. There is no better Christmans song and no better blog than 4HF by Moeman. Thank you for giving me a place to be normal and for making hockey fun despite the Biz. Happy SF to everyone and to all my fellow FHF, I hope Santa makes you horny.

  9. Outstanding moeman. Had a quick return trip to NB yesterday and back today to celebrate the life of my uncle Charlie who passed away this week. *Note to any lapsed Catholics like myself - some of the standard responses have changed! Really threw me off. Whether one believes in the afterlife or not, every time we lose one of this generation we like to think they're on another plane of existence sitting around a table playing cards (auction...commonly known as 45's) and drinking Black Diamond Rum (which is the reason I still struggle with rum). My brothers and I figure we guess we're getting old since there's only 2 aunts (by marriage) remaining in the preceding generation. Not long before the reaper starts creeping around our neck of the woods. This is not meant to be a downer, I've always been pretty OK with death being part of life. My point is this. Time ain't getting any shorter and I really want to see a few more cups before I join that card game. So I suggest our Habs ought to celebrate Kwanzaa and play the remainder of the season by the Kwanzaa principals. There are 7 and i'm not going to look them up but it's things like unity, faith and creativity - things the team need in order to succeed. So happy early Kwanzaa and enjoy whatever you decide to celebrate, but remember it's always family first...and the Habs are part of the family.

    1. Condolences to your and yours, Saint Paddy. We all eventually arrive at a time in life when We come to realise how short life really is and have to enjoy every moment. Too bad we don't always reach that conclusion sooner.

I've been on the phone all night yakkin' with out-of-town family ... just tuned in for the 3rd period, Dish scored to make it 2-1 BJ's and the Habs are out-shooting them 7 zip. Looks like they have found another gear tonight. GYFHG!! Go Juan Pablo!!

2-1 final, better than 10-0 I guess, there's always a silver lining. 9 of next 10 on the road, I'm fearing the collapse!

Epic rant, surprised buttman and his puppets didn't try to shut him down. Nice dig at cherry the hypocrite too. Downie was a dirtbag but is coming clean. Sort of.

Merry Christmas to all my FHFriends!!

Watched the new Magnificent Seven last night with the family, starring Denzel W. and Chris Pratt, great movie, lots of fun!

No thanks to Spezza, But I would take Seguin for N8, Juulsen, and a boat load of picks. Dallas need D and cap relief. MB would have to unload DD to make it work, it's beautiful on the Rock this time of year....

  18. Merry Christmas to all.

What the M said. Christmas in NF? Guaranteed snow!

Gotta go flip the bird. Brined it last night. 2.5 hours breast side down and finish 1.5 boobs up and it's the juiciest turkey in the land. Then gotta get working on the fixins. Got some 12 year old El Dorado and a 4 pack of Kilkenny from Santa...where to begin!

  19. Heading out for the big family Xmas potluck dinner. Made my famous scalloped potatoes. One regular and one with mushrooms. Both with old cheddar.

The day started off sad as my (ex) father-in-law passed away this morning (he lost his wife in February). A good guy and a great grandpa to my kids. We hung out a lot for nearly two decades, he was good friend and confidant. May in Rest in Peace.

Be well FHFriends. Play and drive safe.

    1. 2016 is wrapping up and it was a tough year for music. We lost so many influential musicians: David Bowie, Prince, Glenn Frey, Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, Leonard Cohen, Leon Russell, Merle Haggard and most recently, George Michael.
