  2. Can't help but think of Simon and Garfunkle's Slip Slidin' Away these days. You know if the Habs lose 2 and the leafs win 2 this week, they could jump the Habs with a win on Saturday. And still with 2 games in hand. Likely? No. Possible? Yes.

I can't think of anything positive to say so I'll keep quiet.

It is a beautiful sunny day today so there is that and the rest of the week is going to be very mild. Can't wait for the golf courses to open. I'll bet the Habs can't either. Wait. Was that my inner voice or outer voice? ;-)

  4. So McSplooge bet Gord Miller that the Habs wouldn't make the playoffs. Much as I despise McSplooge, as my father used to say, that's a stinky possibility.

I wonder if L'ac would consider Stef Pateryn as a guest? She'd be "colourful" to say the least...GO YOI FUCKING HANS GO!

I see the Dumpster Diver is at it again. As a former #7 D himself, our esteemed GM can spot those guys a mile away.

And Moey is correct, these mid-season collapses go back to when Carbo was coaching in'09 and even before that. I can't figure it out. My guess is the talent just isn't there. Other than Max, CHe and gCHuk the other forwards would only be able to play for Chicago's farm team. It's fucking brutal!

I am just guessing she is a Trump voter. How does that go about choosing your family but not your relatives? I am not going to be overly hard on her because you could make the facts fit her case. No matter Plaid is in the window with a on sale sticker on his helmet tonite.

JDL first round pick, huge man, terffic skater, cant put a puck in the ocean, developed in house. Leko, less to the eye, same draft year second round pick, on pace for 20 goals developed in Sweden. Can we send gCHuck to Sweden till the playoffs?

    6. mme Plaid should have stayed out of it, BBB likely took it personally when used the words 'french fucks'.

This is even worse than when LeBrow's girlfriend when to social media. Mind you, I do think Plaid does bring more to the table, unfortunately his wife was at the table.

      Delete
  16. Mrs. Pateryn erred in shooting off her twitter comment about Francophones. She has every right to be ticked her husband hasn't been played (see what I did there?) but she went too far.

FWIW, I really like Plaid's game. He's inexpensive and plays a solid #6 D position. He also likes to his.

To me this could've/maybe would've been an opp. for DGMB to find some diplomatic GM balls and have. call with said husband/wife combo. One of the things that has fucking irked me is that the Habs once top rung classy marketing and messaging organization has either gone quiet or has just lamed out.

So, I guess, with the latest news (fake?) Plaid is being shopped. Why? Is Keegan any better?

Re: the marketing and communication thing. It seems like they are trying too hard to placate the francophone fans. When you look at the entire management team the only anglophone is Muller I believe. If they crash and burn again will he get the axe like Craig Ramsay did last year. Randy Cunneyworth was vilified by the french media. It's really becoming an "us vs them" atmosphere. Too bad really. Can't we all just get along?

      Delete
    3. As you know I am French Canadian. I see the team coaching side using the French angle (not in any favour of this) but I don't see the marketing group leaning one way or the other. I just see some disfunction. The Habs marketing use to be top notch, classy and sometimes incredible. Not so in the last while. I think they have become lazy.

      Delete
    4. It all starts at the top with a hockey team. Geoff Molson is the owner - he's not a hockey guy. The top of the hockey guy list in Montreal is where marc Bergevin sits...and he is a fucking liar...so until he is gone, the Habs are fucked. He can't get a center in a. Trade because he has zero leverage and every other gm knows it. He has no one who will trade with him because anyone they want he won't rade...eceryone he wants to trade no one wants...

      Delete
    5. In regards to Plaid, the player. I'd like to hear DGMB explain his case vs. Plaid's play. For a GM you bleeds having a lot of D depth, Plaid should be the last of his worries. I can see the player looking for more ice time as his career moves on but nothing Plaid hasn't done has made him cause for a league-wide memo of trade potential. Just STFU and wait for the trade deadline. If its me, I call Plaid and suggest we meet for a coffee and hey why not, bring your better-half (see what I did there?). Explain to Mrs. Plaid that he concern was appreciated, maybe even understood BUT the Habs' family doesn't spout of in social media like that. Too harsh? Not for me, be gracious and helpful and maybe even have a few Habs' wives call her for some added support. I wouldn't even have a problem publicly stating that I did as much. Regardless of whatever shit goes down, stay above it and show some class.

    6. They should be doing damage control on this for two reasons. 1st its not going to help landing free agents by highlighting the cultural adjustment needed to play in Montreal. 2nd it not right to leave things on this type of Trumpian talking point. Maybe Plaid is a disposable player but he was a member of the team and this kind of toxic stuff needs to be handled.

      Delete
    7. Good stuff boys. No disagreement that (right now) it is all at DGMB's doorstop.

Methinks a call from Serge Savard to Bergevin is in order before the trade deadline. If only to offer a word of encouragement, to manage as a winner.

Whilst here, saw the tsn trade deadline ad. Lots of face shots of tsners, including the vile insidredger. Kinda cute that they use old warm milk lou as their go to GM pic. SFUnited.

I just wish they would go with the best available person regardless of ethnicity or language, just like they supposedly do with the draft. Truth be told, I'm not enamored of the Julien hiring, I see it as re-cycling from a very limited pool even though even the SFU said he was the best available. Maybe he was, but the guy was just fired a week earlier.

In regards to staff, I guess Timmins and some of the scouting staff are anglophone so there is that aspect.

As much as I despised Therrien, it had nothing to do with his ethnicity, but his treatment of certain players like Eller, Subban and Galchenyuk, his favouritism towards Desharnais and the fact he never took any accountability for the team's failings. Whether Julien can turn things around, as Habs fans we can only hope but my expectations have plummeted to the bottom of the cliff. And that's based on what I have witnessed on the ice not behind the bench.

    10. Attacking a people is never a good thing and makes one lack total credibility. I like Plaid and thought he never really got a fair shake.
