  1. I'll drink to that.

  2. Now that that's done. Go Hawks!

  3. CHucky had the puck close to the boards with nobody deep in position. instead of skating out and trying over again with an organised attack, he decides on a low percentage play to try dumping it and hoping somebidy wins back possession.

what do u guys think? i would prefer him use his inner AK27 and do a loop b/c a crap match effort like that will create a future opportunity like this again.

further... TFS is known for reading the play. he shoulda saved that GWG

    1. I think gCHyuk's head has been messed up by the coaches. Centre, not a centre, top line, 3rd line, 2nd line back to centre, back to wing. I think his confidence may be fragile.

      Delete
    2. Put him at centre back with Che and leave him there, they had great chemistry until he got injured and when he came back AF had a new chou-chou he wouldn't move.

  4. This is all N8's fault, he should be playing with BBQ.

  5. TFS - "It would have been nice to make a game-changing save"

One goal was an absolute fluke - off Lb's arm into his mask and deflected into the net. D left him out to dry too.

  7. Good for CJ2 refuses to throw (Y) under the bus

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was worried when I read that (Y) was going to be playing with Dish...sadly it appears I was justifiably concerned... perhaps he should sit and watch against the turds ...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Y could've made himself more useful out on Hwy 10 near Magog where there was that huge pile-up. Everyone was getting getting right past him all night.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Like Steve, I must say that CJv2's post-game was impressive. Marinaro tried to get him to throw Y under the bus he wouldn't do it and tastefully put him in his place.

  11. We got 32cms of snow here, a record for March 14, the previous record for this day was 12cms. People were stranded in their cars 9 hrs or more. Yep, Mother Nature isn`t done with us yet.

  12. I thought they played well mostly, except for a couple of instances where a clear shot from a good angle was not taken (hello BBQ), in lieu of an attempted pass that would eventually either break up the play or result in a loss of the puck to an alert opponent.

But those damn black pads of Crawford. Like shooting the puck at a huge stinking pile of shit. I would be likely to look for a pass myself...

  13. The eMTy virus is like super gonherrea, you cant get rid of it through normal coaching
we are looking good going into the playoffs, time to rest BBQ and Vodkov and put TFS on a maintaince diet.

  14. Chicago showed me something. First the D pinches where agressive and excellent. Watch how many times a shot misses the net and contrast who gained possesion in the end. Second recieveing passes, this is the NHL skill, through the puck somewhere and pick it up with skill, thats winning in the NHL.

  15. I nominate JJ D for the gullitine. All NHL players are equal, its coaching that make the differance.
Thats not quite true but has a foundation of wisdom.

    1. I did not go far enough, JJD head should be on a pike on St Cathariens St stopping all snow removal making the street impassable until July.

    2. JJ D is not a great D coach. Nope nope nope. Surprised CJv2 hasn't replaced him with "his own man" yet.

Yes we have needed a new D coach for a long time.
      He has great hair tho.
      Go Habs

  16. If I am coach we rest BBQ or Vodkov for one game each vs Ottawa, cause we are Montreal. Greatness does not come from idividuals its comes from the collective earth.

    1. Still snow falling in Mtl. I saw three STM buses abandoned/stuck in snow at the corner of Laurier and du Parc this a.m. A good dump, but nothing will stop the parade on Sunday though.

      Delete
    2. Finished my snow clearing too. Some busses were stuck overnight but there's always an idiot cop who decides this was a good time to meet his quota and gave one driver who was stuck a $169 ticket for obstructing 'traffic'.

Seriously, the city showed total incompetence in handling the situation. On last night's late news they said they would have 1,0000 workers available to start clearing ops when the snow gets to so many cm's. People were abandoned on highways, some abandoned their cars. It's not like they all came as a surprised, the storm was predicted and they should have been prepared. Total ineptitude.

    5. I hear you juce on the ineptitude of the cops. I watched a bendy bus from the second period to the end of the game being completely grounded out my front window and obstructing all but one lane of Park the whole time and not one police car showed up, nor to stop traffic from either side. Really dangerous situation and even the city snowplow couldn't get past or do much for the hapless bus driver.

I watched that game last night and I thought the Habs were not in the same stratosphere as the Hawks talent-wise or confidence. I don't think Chicago ever doubted they were going to win that game. Bargain Bin Bergy will never find players like Kane and Toews or Keith and Seabrooke picking in the bottom 20 of the draft or crawling around other teams dumpsters. If the Habs best players are Max and gCHuk and Weber and Vodkov there is no comparison. Crawford is at least as good as Price. Tanking is the only option.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No tanking but I'd be cool with spending over the cap. Make fuckface bettman eat it in public. Then stop all revenu transfers to fuckface bettman's weak US clubs. What will fuckface bettman do? Fine the CH? Kick them out of the league? Time for Mr. Molson to find some balls.

  21. NO TANKING martitimer! this is the team we have, this is the team we go with. as well all know, this is the modern NHL and b/c of buttface, everybody who gets in has a chance, even if ure the laffs. tanking does shiet. and what u said about building through the draft is also shiet! patCHes, GHycky, kidG, PFK, vodkov, heck crawford werent top picks. the key is to recognise talent when u have it available to acquire or to retain. BBB has the theory correct, he just licks at executing it.

  22. the Maritimer3:13 PM

I hear you bitches but the only way you ever get a shot at a player like McDiver or Awesome is to do the full frontal face plant at least once. Even Sam Pollock couldn't get these new GMs to bite on trading their 1st round pick. Those days are over.

I like moe's idea of holding back funds or throwing mo' money (see what I did there?) at ufas or offer sheet every young stud available. Fuck this nice guy business, we all know how they finish. C'mon Geoff get ruthless!!

This is when the Canadian teams (even the leaf) with the biggest fan bases need to join forces and shove Arizona up buttman's ass. I wonder how the NHL would fare without Montreal and Toronto propping them up?

  24. Total Plagerization but interesting

Remember Vadim Shipachev? He’s is having his best year yet in the KHL and I think Bergevin has done enough wooing for Russia’s number 1 centreman to know the Habs want him, Radulov has shown that a ctalented and committed ex-KHLer can thrive in the NHL, and our large group of Russian-speaking hockey players make our dressing room an attractive place for an KHL ex-pat.

Add to that that we are a team that actually needs a frontline centreman and will likely have the cap space to pay for one next season, and that Montreal is a cosmopolitan city with a decent Russian population, and it’s tough NOT to see us being at the top of his list this summer.

And if he won’t sign, his linemate, Evengy Dadonov, is having a heck of a year for SKA as well. I’m pretty sure he wants to try the NHL as well.

They are both free agents this summer and I think we should go all-in on one or the other. Too bad we probably won’t have the cap space for both — an all-KHL line of Radulov-Shipachev-Dadonov would be dynamite.

CJ2: "I need a volunteer. Anybody else 'not feeling too good'?

    1. I like your thinking. I would sign Che for 8 money up front and trade him to a cap sucker team if he runs down in the later years. 6 or 8 and can not put Arizonia, Vegas, NJ, CB, on his list of no trade

  28. Been reading some articles on the Players' Tribune, came across this.

'My teammates didn’t actually know how bad my injuries were until they got on the plane and saw me. So they had gone through the whole handshake line not knowing my face was caved in. That’s the backstory for Dino Ciccarelli’s famous quote about Lemieux: “I can’t believe I shook this guy’s friggin’ hand after the game. That pisses me right off.”

  30. This one is for St. Pat's (with apologies to Shane MacGowan and the Pogues)

If Y Should Fall from Grace with Claude
    After being cleanly beaten
If Y’s muscled off the puck
    And his passes fail completely

Let him sit Claude, let him sit Claude
Let Y sit up with the press where the hotdogs come with fries

    This Cup was always ours
    Was the pride of Montrealers
    It belongs to the Habs
Not to any of Buttman’s fuckers
It’s coming back here boys, coming back here boys!
Dump the Buttman in the south where the hockey fans run dry

    Keep GCHuck at C
Let those Forum ghosts direct him
If he shoots from open ice
KidA or LB will deflect them
Into the goal boys, into the goal boys!
Win this town a twenty-fifth Cup
Where the Frenchmen used to fly

If Y Should Fall from Grace with Claude
    After being cleanly beaten
    Harley’s raring to go
    And he passes pretty cleanly

Let him sit Claude, let him sit Claude
Let Y sit up with the press where the hotdogs come with fries
