Game 20. Habs v Coyotes (which are also probably about 17% owned by Habs thanks to revenue sharing)

A very happy 33rd birthday to Gemma Atkinson.

Speaking of 33.  GM material? Prez?

Not another snoozefest please.

I couldn't bear to watch another of those.

Maybe the Habs can get the drop on the Yotes.

But be careful, they're a prickly bunch.

  1. Canadiens call up Nicolas Deslauriers from Laval
The 26-year-old forward has three goals and five points for the Rocket so far this season

I suggest an FHF nick is a thing of honour and needs to be earned. So for now instead of a nick, he gets Nic.

    1. This is a good policy. Speaks to the need for a FHF Code (like the Criminal Code, etc.)

Thine call-ups must earneth their nicks with either some achievement (on-ice/off-ice), or personality trait or habit of at least mild interest. Until such a time, no official nick may be assigned.

Is there a reason to even watch this? I think I'll wait 'til Saturday for the SFU leaf sploogefest, at least I'll get a chuckle out of that.

Since the Habs are only a game below .500 and 2 points out of a wild card spot, I can't see the Head Clown hitting the panic button this soon. I just think this going to be a snorefest because Jabba coaches a boring style and Rick Tocchet ain't got much to work with.

Speaking of the Head Clown, with all that cap space I'm sure he's working the phones, but the answer is in the room. Errr... what's the question again?

    3. Speculations are that BBB will get face time to talk trades when all 30 GMs come to town. I suspect they'll try to unload some 'character' players.

  5. GMMB looks for 'character players' first. This is true. But even higher on the list are those character players that have been part of the Chicago organization, and even higher if they were drafted during BBB's tenure with the Hawks.

So one could go through the draft history and probably find a guy or two that still fits the mold. Dano. Check. SSR. Check. Freeze. Check.
So considering the rumours about a NYR trade, Kevin Hayes fits the bill. Maybe pry Marcus Kruger out of Carolina? Perhaps Brandon Pirri. Can't crack the Vegas lineup, but would be a great fit in La Belle Province! Those are the three names I'd keep an eye on. Brandon Saad is another with nice upside...too much upside since the Hawks gave up Panarin to get him back, but he's a fringe possibility.

Pchoy Killer. As described by the talking heads, speaking French is a leading indicator. Now with science we have the truth. I took the testand passed. I am only dangerous to myself.

How about this... gCHuk for Duncan Keith or Brent Seabrook? You just know Bergevin would be all over that, a young stud forward with tons of skill for an aging over-the-hill defenceman with lots of CHaracter and a rep. Give up scoring for more prevent-defence trying for that elusive 0-(-1) score that eMpTy tried so hard for and may now be on Jabba's agenda.

  29. Oh well, plenty of whining for the post game radio show and some of the whining resident bitches here. The thing is just take out this GM's name when he's done and insert the next. one. And so on.

    1. Some truth there but DGMB is in his 6th year.

    2. Agree moe, rookie GM for sure. But with the political limitations in this province we can only cheer the team on. It's not the players fault. People should direct their anger ;where it belongs.

      Delete
    3. I don't disagree. For me, this is big time on Molson.

    4. His hands are tied too, I hate this province. Our city sucks and so does our hockey team. Glad I'm old enough to remember and enjoyed the glory days of this once beautifu city and glorious hockey team.

  30. So what is the issue? Losing to a team that doesn't have a regulation win in 20 games. Hard pressed to name more than a few of their players. On paper the Habs would appear to have far more offensive talent. Which leaves the D. The current GM dismantled the old D and put this together. I dont care if its him or somebody else to fix it, but our defence is just not good right now. Dont know if they win or lose this game, but either way the team needs work. By somebody.

    Pull the plug on DGMB.
No issue with CJv2 as CoaCH.
    JJD is a fucking loser.
Captain K. is good with me.
Not because he is of FrenCH lineage but Patrick Roy could be a President and get himself a much better GM.
I was telling myself that with his new franCHise contract TFS™ could also be part-time GM (if his LBI doesn't heal).
    Someone have Larry Robinson's digits?

  33. Have a good one my feline and fellow FHFers.

Off to watch the Steelers squeeze out an 8th win in 10 games. (which isn't suggesting they have been dominant).

    ReplyDelete
  34. Missed this one folks . . . sorry. Sadly I don't think we see changes until after Saturday night when the leaf come in and Matthews hands us our ass on a a plate. That, IMHO should become the catalyst for change. I too have no issue with CJ...he has to work with what he is given. What irks me is the dishonesty that continues to permeate the organisation. This goes back to the Goat era. Nothing has changed. Tfs has a "minor" injury but has been out for over two week...bergevin claims to not even know when he was injured - HE IS A LIAR! No Hab takes a shit without him knowing ffs...so his 84million dollar investment was trotted out to say exactly what he was told to say. On a positive note...Nic looked good and I love CHill. Go Habs Go

  35. Embarrassing. And let's all be honest, if that was PK who took a penalty and AZ scores, you know the media would be all over him post game but you will never hear that about BBQ. Let's see if one of the GM's unload some more 'character' on BBB.
