The Stars are Misaligned. Game 22. Dallas v Montreal

Losing to AZ and Tronna has certainly got Habs fans in an uproar.  And that includes FHFans. Hey, it's tough to continue cheering after that fustercluck on Saturday.  But we at FHF HQ are paid very handsomely trying our best to keep up your spirits.  So considering the Habs are visiting the Stars, here are 5 points to ponder before you consider jumping ship.

  1. TFS is near a return.  If he's truly back to form, that can only boost the confidence of all of his teammates, especially those guys directly in front of him that are paid to defend. They can only improve.
  2. sCHlemko (Negan?) is travelling with the team.  Is he the true sCHaviour? As K3X pointed out, at this point he is still a myth.
  3. A couple of wins during a mini road trip puts this team in a spot where they can still see the wild card spots, which is the first step towards respectability.
  4. Not all may agree, but if a couple more losses puts the team one step closer to inevitable CHanges at a higher level, that may be where this team needs to be to restart that climb.
  5. It's the CH.  Never surrender.
*OK, 5 actual points were a stretch.  But point 5 is the most important.  GO HABS GO!

I may have had a crush as a young lad.

Seeing stars?

Looks presidential to me

MB was spotted after the leafs' 4th goal.

We can all do our part to send some positive vibes towards the Habs

    You've painted up your lips
And rolled and curled your tinted hair
    DGMB are you contemplating
    Going out somewhere
    The shadow on the wall
Tells me the sun is going down
    Oh DGMB
Don't take our team to town

    It wasn't me
That started that old crazy Playstation war
But I was proud to go
    And blog my patriotic CHore
    And yes, it's true that
I'm not the (moe)man I used to be
Oh, Moey I still need some company

It's hard to love a man
Who begs, is bent and paralyzed
And the wants and the needs of a GM your age
    DGMB I realize
But it won't be long I've heard them say until TFS' not around
    Oh DGMB
Don't take our team to town

    theM.'s leaving now cause
I just heard the slamming of the door
The way I know I've heard it
    Some hundred times before
And if I could move I'd get my blog
And put this shit in the ground
    Oh DGMB
Don't take our team to town

Oh Geoffie for God's sake turn this FHFucking team around!

So there's no CHé it ain't so! or CHé la vie puns happening here. NOpe.

  6. Thanks to the athletic I have another of my myths shattered, its the big apple. It seems Le Club is le CHeap. Okay thats a big scale in the NHL, so we are CHeap like Trump.

Toronto is all in on leveraging their wealth.

Playstation gaming can slow down time, lets have simulations that teach us to score. Second skating skating skating. I know we have a coach, the leafs have an olympic medalist.

...so with half-assed apologies to Arcade Fire,...

    Since Bergy's taken the throne
    The useless D is blown
When the foes're cutting down the wing
I tell 'em Vodkov's not home

No place for Druid to hide
You were scoring as a winger on their side
You're still a winger in your mind
Though you're centering the top line

You say the answer's in the room
As if there wasn't more cap room
I know no matter what you say
There's some players you'll never pay

Dismantling the CHurch while your FHFamily sighs
You take what's unsigned and you sign it up for life
Every spark of excitement and FHFan love will sign in a new home
Hear the FHFan base groan, "We'll blog at it alone"

    And that damned Molson beer
It's just as bad as this CH year
Don't wanna drink, don't wanna buy
    The prices are too high

Who's gonna throw the very first stone?
Oh! Who's gonna reset the tone?
Scouting with your head in a sling
    Wanna hear the soldier sing:
"Been working for the Church while my family dies
Your little baby sister's gonna lose her mind
Every spark of friendship and love will die without a home"
Hear the soldier groan "We'll blog at it alone.

You dealt PK out of fear
He woulda lifted you up and taken you out of here
And til TFS's knees do heal
    CHill you may never deal

    We can't sign CHé now
But you've gonna get some draft picks back somehow
    And when this season disappears
We'll just say you were never here

Dismantling the CHurch while your sign up long shots
Signing Ales Hemsky and those other spare parts
Every spark of excitement and FHFan love will sign in a new home
Hear the FHFan base groan, "We'll blog at it alone"

  9. I think MB's biggest mistake was not signing Markov. Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. second biggest mistake, first was not signing Radulove. He blew this one like a porn star.
Vodkov would have been good, but if the ghost of Schlemko and Jewleson had blessed us we would not miss marky mark. Picking LZ as a landing zone was worse than not drinking in the Vodkov.

      Delete
    2. Can anyone say in retrospect how bad it was that we did not sign Radulove. We took BBQ for a hundred years and exuse me for dissing BC but Radulove is a better hockey player. We sign Superplexxxe to Check his turtleneck for 6 mil. Dont start me with TFS who I think is a great player and ten mill is not a stupid deal. However, you do not have to be Scotty Bowman to say to Radulove, I am going to bend over please love me.

      Delete
    3. Like Pumbaa from the Lion King says "you gotta put your behind in the past", and though there are opposing views about the PK/BBQ deal, I think that's where MB's real slide began. Whether PK or BBQ, at that point in time we had a good looking D. Whether he lacked the smarts to manage the cap and the expansion draft or just wanted his fingerprints on the D, he changed it for better or worse (PS - the answer is worse). I said at the time (maybe not on here) that I'd rather take Markov at 6 per for 2 years than Alzner at 5.5 for 5. Smaller commitment overall and you know what you're getting with Markov.

Also yes, Radulov too. It was nice to have a guy that was actually fun to watch play hockey because he seemed to have so much joy when he was on the ice. And you know, he could score and whatnot.

    4. I agree as I expected Vodkov to be a lifetime Has. Still time I guess.

The bigger mistake is not finding a way to spend $8.5M, more now with TFS™'s injury.

      Delete
    5. I had no problems with the Weber trade, he's a more reliable D man, PK was 50/50 you never knew what you would get. If Weber had a decent partner that would help a lot. Yup moe, that 8 mil is just collecting dust.

If they don't make the playoffs I suspect that MB will lose his job. Now, who to replace him!

    6. For GM, not sure but I am liking the suggestions of Bobby Smith as President.

  10. I thought Vodkov was starting to hit a wall in this league; but I think he was still good for a season or two more (especially considering how limited the upside is with Alzner, J&B and Dish and Harley and TM). I agree with Bryan Wilde and Craig Button - too many D are 5 or 6, even sCHlem was used sparingly as a Shark.

  13. How bad is a movie, well today you can judge it by how fast its on Kodi. I think they must have some kind of Kodi clause saying if it gets a thousand hits in a week, we will not consider it a total disaster. That may be why as my friend tells me Geostorm is now in HD on Kodi.

I love disaster movies, dystonia classics but the general public would like more to see a white
family take in a black orphan who makes the NFL and salutes the flag despite the fact they shot
    his brother hands up.

  17. Vodkov and PK were able to drive the offence and get the puck out of the zone. I don't see any of the current D doing that other than the odd time. PK was energetic and able to get under the opponents' skin. PK did not always clear guys in front of the net and protect TFS but neither does BBQ either. Price still gets run and interfered on and last season took matters into his own hands while Dish was trying to pull the opponent away from him because no one on the team was doing it. As for leadership, PK led on the ice and brought it during the playoffs. If my memory is correct, the last season he was here he was the leading point getter up until he was injured by (Y) and stretchered off the ice. I think BBQ is a good Dman but he did't come as advertised and hyped by the organisation. He may have been elite once and the hype may have held true once I think those years are behind him. I mean no disrespect to BBQ but the team needs more of what PK brought than what BBQ does, puck-moving D are what teams want to have and try to acquire. As for Vodkov - another failure by BBB. When he said you can never have too many D who knew he meant 4th-liners.

    1. playing with lingering flu so I bet his balance is still out of whack. I think PatCHes tries; it's just that ever since he came within a hair of death on the Shaved Gorilla stanchion mauling, he has played a little more timid. Not much to be done. He'll still pot 30-35 at a good cap hit; I still feel the C might be a bit much for him, as it puts expectations a little high.

  28. So at least the goal tending issues have been resolved. CHill is for real. Now all they need is a goal scorer. But finding one of those is hard...

    http://www.tsn.ca/talent/an-improbable-but-not-impossible-shea-weber-trade-1.921539

At this point we have one top four D man, so we are really not much worse off with none.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I gotta say that Craig Button, while he can actually make some decent points (mostly in pointing out the many flaws in the Habs' "system"), his delivery as a colour commentator is horrible. "Like, I don't understand it, like why is Pacioretty just standing off to the side, I I I just like don't know why he isn't making it more difficult for Bishop?!" So while the analysis is actually spot on and gets a 9/10, unfortunately the Russian judge is in charge of delivery and it looks like a 2/10. And yes he did mention how he was with the Stars organization when they won the cup in '99 (I think it was). SFU go out of their way it seems to find anybody that has not only ever had anything to do with the Habs, but have generally opposed them most of their lives. Mike Johnson's cup of coffee with the team doesn't count.
